How can you be closed when the doors are unlocked and people going in and out? And then say someone needs a mask when you dont even have one close by? If this Louisianas welcoming center, keep you state and the lairs who live in it!

Visited in April, 2018. Very helpful people and lots of pamphlets for the area. If you ask at the from, they have state maps in a drawer.Free coffee and a small gift shop are on the center as well. A short walk outside will take you to a Louisiana sign and then an enclosure that has some small alligators to look at. Makes for a nice stop.

One of the nicest visitor centers I have been to by far! Definitely a place to stop. They have an AMAZING selection of pamphlets, lots of seating, and outdoor trail, cool sculptures, and really clean bathrooms.I was pleasantly surprised. This would be a great place to stop for lunch or just to take a break.

Long drive from El Paso to Louisiana but this was a great place to stop and walk around before we got back on the road. Gift shop inside, a small alligator viewing area and picnic tables. Highly recommended you stop here.

What a wonderful facility! Our family loves to stop here to see friendly faces. We love Kristen who always remembers all of our family members who stop in. It’s a safe, and clean stopping point. Also, the gift shop is very cute! Bonus! Anytime we travel to Louisiana we make a point to stop here and soak in the beautiful state of Louisiana. Thank you for providing such a wonderful, safe place.

Perfect rest stop during a long drive. Sanitizer is available and signage states that they clean their restrooms at least every 60 minutes.

Went in looking for a driving map tour of the elegant, older homes in Lake Charles. The lady handed me a brochure with a map, and descriptions of the home shown on the map. We really enjoyed looking around in the neighborhood despite Broad Street being very busy and locals not being very forgiving of tourists trying to look at the beautiful old homes. Went around the block several times and found some places to park where we could look at the homes in some detail.

Clean bathrooms, friendly staff and free coffee. Great place to stop and stretch. Unfortunately they do not have wifi which other Louisiana visitors centers do.

We love going here when driving threw. My kids love seeing gators and the fish jumping in water

Definitely one of the nicest visitor centers Ive seen! There are some really beautiful art pieces by local artists in the main lobby, a gift shop, free coffee, and as you would imagine, a ton of information on what to do in and around Lake Charles. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They pointed us to a splash pad and kids park just a mile down the road which is open to the public, because we were looking for a place to give our kids a break from the road trip. Thanks so much!

Nice area - Traffic was a bear though, lots of bridge constrution going on when we were there. Nice Airport too.

It is a great place to stop and take pictures. They have a gift shop and outside of the center there is a swamp structure; inside of it is a baby alligator and turtles. You can swim in the water right outside of center too! Inside the people are helpful and they have tons of flyers to show you what is what in Louisiana or what to do in Louisiana!

Awesome place to stop. Restrooms are super clean. Attendants are friendly. They have a beautiful view of the water outside and a wall FULL of touristic information. Parking is ample. The GPS sends you to the nearest exit that is cutting it short but doable.

Great little stop on a trip, clean bathrooms, beautiful scenery. Baby Gators can be viewed just to the left of the building. Recommend if you want to stretch your legs.

The visitors center was great. It had many flyers for nearby attractions and things to do. There were two people at the counter to assist as well as a gift shop. It had an awesome view and outside sitting area. The center was very clean and had restroom is for visitors. Not a whole lot of things to do in Lake Charles for kids.

Everyone is always so friendly here. We usually always stop and sign in and take a pic with the Louisiana monument outside.

Wonderful place to visit

Had a great time with my granddaughter here. They had it set up for a kids fun day and too learn about animals and crafts. It was a fun day for us.

I stopped here looking for a NOLA (New Orleans, LA) map and they gave me a catalog of NOLA with several maps of different sections of NOLA. I really just wanted a regular old fashioned map but I made it work. This facility was very well stocked with brochures for NOLA and had nice restroom facilities.

This is all you could ask for in a visitors center. Its clean, has some cool stuff to look at inside, and the folks that work there are very engaged and ready to help you learn about the area.
