The staff at the museum was very friendly. Everything was perfectly clean. They went above and beyond for COVID standards! Many of the displays are closed due to germs. Also due to social distancing, only one family at a display at a time. Kids don’t understand why they can’t play with others so parents are frantically trying to pull their kids away.

Good selection of activities for our 6 year old. He can be entertained for at least an hour with all the exhibits. Really likes the giant Lego blocks. Plenty to keep a 1 year old happy as well.

There’s something for every child at the children’s museum. We have one criteria for any children’s museum, does it get our kids to participate, is it interactive and are my kids learning as much as they are having fun? The Children’s Museum here in Lake Charles does just that. We have been to bigger places from Milwaukee to Houston to Los Angels to Orlando but the one thing they all have in common is getting our children’s imagination going, having them see things differently and having a hands on experience as they interact with other kids in their kids community. The exhibits here in Lake Charles are great. Teaching kids about the oil industry through play, wearing coats and hard hats at the plant, or relaxing and fishing off the boat / pier. One son’s favorite is the car race track and another’s is the swimming noodles run through. One of my favorites is the running railroad diorama upstairs. The kids always are asking to come back, a great place to bring them when Mother Nature isn’t cooperating outside!

Very happy Childrens museum was open so 7 could bring my grandchildren from out of town...very good safety practices were used..they came by and sprayed our hands to disinfect germs every so often...wiped down play equipment after anyone used them...limited visitors..kept distance for everyone there..it was really great and we felt safe there !!! Thank You !

Another awesome place for the kids in lake Charles!! Almost everything a kid could possibly want to do within 3 stories. If you plan on doing every activity, i suggest you pack lunches bc it will take all day. Admission is $9 per person and free for 2 and under

It is not the best Children Museum we have been to. It did have some different activities we havent seen before. There is hardly any parking. It will kill about 2hrs of your day and then you can visit the really nice park down the street.

Museum has a lot of rooms and activities that provides good knowledge to the kids so that they can learn but unfortunately the museum is not well maintained. Need more love.

Not much to look at, this is a surprisingly engaging, variegated place for kids to learn and play. Three stories packed with exhibits and activities, everything from dress-up to hands-on physics, it seems like theres something to interest just about every school-aged child. The pricing seemed a little steep, especially for us adults who of course have little interest except to supervise our kids. The facilities, too, were just a little run down, lending to a somewhat dingy atmosphere. But for educational fun on a hot summer afternoon, this place was just the ticket.

A place to bring children with 3 floors of activities and experiments, from learning about local wildlife to learning the inner mechanisms of chemical refineries in the area. Its a good spot for the children if your wanting to tour Lake Charles

We had a blast of childrens museum. My daughter had a great time tons of stuff to do even for just a 1 year old. My niece went with us also and shes seven and she had so much fun. We were there for 2 hours and honestly could have spent all day there. My daughter got kind of sleepy so we had to leave. But we will be back soon to go through the rest of the floors.

Lots of fun experience for the whole family. I dont know the cost because we had special passes. We took our five year old and she loved it. Very clean and well supervised.

We had a wonderful time at the childrens museum. My children are 5, 7, and 10 and they all had a really good time. My husband and I even had fun. In the middle of the week is a slow time and almost no one was there so we had the whole place to ourselves. There was something for everyone and all kinds of interests.

My son especially enjoyed the water table, and my daughter loves the food area. A little smaller than other childrens museums that Ive visited, but definitely reasonably priced for what they have, and definitely a lot of fun for the whole family.

This place is amazing. My son and nieces and nephews loved this place and it was even a blast for myself and my mom. So many things to do there and they especially loved the racetrack upstairs.

This was one of the neatest childrens museums Ive been to, and we move a lot! There are 3 floors of fun. I took kids nearly every age from 15 months old to 8 years old and they all found something to enjoy. We spent 2.5 hours and they werent bored. I still had to do the time count down to leave and almost drag them out. It was educational for the older kids and exciting (yet still safe) for the 1&3 year olds. We went in the afternoon on a week day and we were one of only 2-3 other families there. The place is large enough with enough to do that we felt nearly alone. Definitely worth the money no matter how much time you can go for.

Recently moved from the west coast to Louisiana and had no clue where to take the girls to have some fun. This place is super cute and very awesome to learn and play. Needs a few upgrades but overall was pretty great♡

Spent 5 hours here with my 4 year old daughter. After about an hour and a half as an adult I was no longer interested but my little girl didnt want to leave. We stayed until they closed. My little girl loved it and even as an adult there is some really neat stuff there. I will take my daughter again.

Wife and I brought our 3 year old on a Monday, hardly anyone else. Super nice staff, clean, lots of super fun activities. Great price.

A nice place.for kids to roam and learn. Not a place to take your kid and let them run wild. Parental involvement is a big part of this place. We had fun as our daughter learned a out fire fighting ( Im a retired FF) and working on crab boats and so many other things. I think her favorite part was the karaoke room and making huge bubbles. The shadow room was pretty cool too.

Fun little museum for younger children located downtown. Very nice staff, activities / interactive displays featuring math/science/history and more. Special events occur occassionally, can be booked for parties. Nice way to spend some fun educational time with kids.

Best place ever. My kids loved it and it was nice to have fun in the air conditioned indoors.

The term museum is misleading. Several highly interactive play/experience stations cosponsored by local corporations. While its not as sleek as the children museum/science centers as found in larger cities, it is great place to bring your children especially during the hot summer.My 2 year old truly enjoyed her experience and did not want to leave. We are considering buying the year pass.

Love making an outing with the kids here. No matter how old you are it brings out the kin in you. You can even get your hand stamped, leave for lunch and come back.

This place is awesome we were there 3 hours and the kids never stopped there is so much different things to do and its all educational is the best part will definitely be coming back

Kids have a lot of fun here. Something for kids from 2 to 8 or 9. Unlike most childrens museums the price is reasonable for what you get. Good way to kill 2 hours in the heat of the day.

We had a blast!! The staff was very helpful and the place was clean and fun. We enjoyed that it wasnt super crowded and there were things to do for all age groups.

Compared to other childrens museums the exhibits arent great, lots of parts are broken or missing, but the children still enjoy it. Youd think with the price of admission they could fix some stuff, plus a lot of exhibits are donated. We come about 3 times a year and for the last 3 years the exhibits havent changed or had any upkeep.

Lets kids be creative with interactive games, clothes to dress up in, etc.

Granddaughter loves this place. Very fun for small children. 3 stories of activity. And a small place for groups to snack if on field trips and such.

The kids absolutely loved the childrens museum. It was a place where you could just turn them lose and they dont go very far very fast and each floor has only one way to get somewhere else because the only exit is gaurded

My kiddo loved it. Weve been to multiple childrens museums and this one has some unique stuff. Its also a bit dated and needs some new upgrades. Some money needs to be invested, and it would go a long way...

So thankful this has been a part of our community for as long as it has. Great place to learn and teach

I went along with my daughters school field trip and was immediately met with a strong moldy smell when we walked in. The baseboards and bathroom fixtures were caked with build up and really the whole place needed ripping up and replaced as I am not sure it could be cleaned. The bathrooms were not convenient for a mother who needed a changing station, the third floor had no changing table and the first floors changing table blocked the bathroom entrance and stall occupants completely when in use. They had some cute areas but truly need a new building or layout. Ive been to many childrens museums across the US and this was in the bottom for sure. Wish they would improve because the children loved it.

It was a blast they literally have three stories of nothing but kid fun.

Brought our kids here for a few hours and they really had fun first floor is great plenty of stuff for kids to do, the second floor is even better, but the third floor was a bit of a let down not much to do up there kids still had fun though.

Looks like it hasnt been updated in 20 years but its a fun way to kill a couple of hours. My one year old especially loved the bubble room.
