Wow 10am mass was filled with children, young adults. 100s Was a beautiful lift to a visitor who attends an older parish. Dr. Rick delivered a spiritual homily.

This is a beautiful church in the heart of downtown. it is the most attended of the other Catholic churches in the area. Lots of diversity and families. The 8 am Mass is better if you dont like lots of children.

Visited for a wedding. The church building was absolutely beautiful. The architecture, the stained glass windows, it was all beautiful to behold. I found myself not paying attention to the wedding, and instead looking around at all there was to see.

The stained glass just paints your soul with light and is such a beautiful church to go to mass in. It has many places to sit and has a quick mass as well.

We went just to look at it and found it to be a super beautiful home to Jesus Christ. The artwork was so beautiful that without it I could not give it five stars because the windows--being plan and remove the statues the walls would be bare. With all that in mind I would have to give it a 6.

I was at Riley Hospital visiting a special family and I was going to stop in for Sunday Mass or just quiet prayer as I didnt know the schedule. It was a short walk from the Omni Hotel. It got there soon after Mass started. Very welcoming.

Arguably one of the best all around Catholic churches in Indianapolis. Its an old style traditional church with a lot of history, built around 1837. Its been said that the church was designed by German immigrants and built by the Irish and you can see those influences in the design and architecture. The current pastor Father Negal is a fantastic priest! If youre visiting downtown Indianapolis and want to celebrate mass, this is the place.

St John is a wonderful and vibrant parish for so many reasons. 7 pm Sunday Mass is always busy, the college and young families make it unique, being across from the Convention Center, the doors are literally open to many visitors, the historical aspects constantly amaze me, daily Confession and noontide Mass makes it a great opportunity to practice our faith. The music, that phenomenal organ, is one of a kind. I dont know the Adoration schedule but often stop in for prayers. Parking for Mass is free if you see an usher for a voucher.

An absolute treasure of a church. This church has some of the kindest, most genuine people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Ive been around the Catholic block so to speak, and St.Johns Indy has made me a very happy and fulfilled person and has me eagerly looking forward to mass. Fr.Nagel is a gem in this treasure chest in the city, hes very kind, approachable, relevant, yet keeps it grounded and doesnt get too out there with the contemporary. Hes by far one of my all time favorite priests to hear. Im an organist and have been around playing for masses so Ive meet a lot of less than spectacular men of the cloth.Something also must be said for this space, it is absolutely gorgeous. In an era where places are trying to make the church feel like your living room with gaudy paintings, tacky fixtures, and worst of all CARPET. Its so wonderful to come to a place such as this and be welcomed in a dignified and respectable place of spiritual fulfillment. I would argue that this is the most beautiful space in the city of Indianapolis, maybe Sacred Heart is in that running too. Ive been to the Episcopal churches and the Catholic ones, and this has them beat. I highly recommend this church to all who have never been, and I speak highly of it to my friends and family. I love it so much here I drive up from Bloomington for mass.

Father Rick is the priest here and Im much obliged to say he is a great asset to this Cathedral. He is Young and approachable. The cathedral itself is beautiful, magnificent in architecture, as well as very authentic and original.

July 4th. Daily Mass. Fr Larry Janesic visiting priest. Deacon wore running shoes in the sanctuary. Another extraordinary minister wore tee shirt/shorts in the sanctuary. Fr Janesic seemed like typical 70’s priest—talked about social justice but didn’t take the opportunity on Independence Day to talk about freedom from sin.Beautiful church. Beautiful high altar (although for some reason a flat table was used in preference to the high altar). Nice to see the tabernacle front and center on the high altar. Great access to the sacraments! Our family drove an hour from Columbus (because no Mass or confession in Columbus). Confession offered for an hour every day at St John’s! Daily Mass at 1210pm—this is a wonderful service to everyone who works in downtown Indy!The laity were very reverent and at least 3/4 of the communicants made a fervent thanksgiving after Mass. This is by far the most people I’ve ever seen making a good thanksgiving at a novus ordo parish. The pastor has obviously done a very good job catechizing the parish!

A very nice cathedral-like church with a lovely mass. The service was excellent here.My only complaints are that the pews were creaky and as a 64 guy, I had very limited leg room when kneeling.
