Great place to meet with friends in the outdoors and go for a walk. Just one thing not very pleasant is that the pedestrian crossing areas are not very clean...

Indianapolis Canal walk was beautiful. Nice place for a first time date, daytime date, or a family day for the park. They have bikes, scooters, and water paddle boats you can rent. They have a nice walking/ running/ bike trail around the canal. There was one actual restaurant on canal walk that I spotted. Very small but looked nice.

Indianapolis Canal Walk is one of my favorite places to meet clients to take pictures and spend time with my own family! I enjoy how peaceful it always seems to be/feel while visiting here, you dont feel like youre in the heart of the city. Theres a place to rent bikes and peddle boats and I really enjoy getting an iced coffee from the little italian bistro there. I highly recommend taking a stroll here the next time your in Downtown Indianapolis!

Great space in downtown Indy to go for a run or relaxing walk. Hopefully the food place reopen our new ones come post COVID.

Very well maintained beautiful place to hang out. Good for all age bars and family. Did the pedal boat rental and it worth the experience. Water is crystal clear and the fountains were amazing. Also an activity area good kids.

The Canal Walk in Indy reminds me of the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy. Beautiful walk area where you can do jogging or simple stroll. There is a 17-foot waterfalls. There are a lot of activities around the area like biking, pedal boat, kayak or Gondola ride. You have to make reservations to take a gondola ride. Also, you can bring some bread and crumb it so you can feed the ducks and geese in the area. Also, the Indiana State Museum is along the Canal Walk with 5 minutes distance. There is also a close by childrens park. We walked the whole area from one end to the other and discovered a remembrance of military heroes and paintings and architecture under the bridge. Great place for families or even for dates!

There is nothing to Not Like in here. The only downside for me was, getting there. We parked on road side and then walked to get there. Once we reached, the place did not disappoint even a bit. The boating experience was very nice, we reached there late evening, and that setting was perfect to visit this place. The setting sun was looking gorgeous on the water, stopped our boat, enjoyed the view and while paddling back, also saw nice lighting which they had put up. Overall this is a really nice cozy place to visit with your family or loved ones.

Really nice ~2 mile round-trip walk. Very scenic and there is the option of renting paddleboats and kayaks.

This is a really nice walk. We truly enjoyed the ducks and the obscene amount of electric scooters that were thrown into the Canal. The boat and family life rentals made for fun and a very exciting obstacle course while walking.

Wow! We did a quick trip into INDY over the weekend and I am so glad we made this a priority. Beautiful walkway with art, restaurants, and lots of doggo watching. Very peaceful in the heart of a booming city.

I would give this place more than 5 stars if possible!

I love walking the canal. Its clean and peaceful. Theres plenty of spots for just relaxing while reading a good book or sunbathe on the lawn with your dog.

Paddle boats were fun. But the young lady (cashier) at the stand was hateful towards an elderly couple. She was very mean to a couple that requested a life vest and even made fun of them to their faces bu laughing hysterically smh

Amazing place for morning and evening walk. There are few good restaurants are available near this canal. You can rent a boat here. Water is crystal clear. I love this place. One of the most beautiful places in Indianapolis. Bicycles are also available for rent.

Beautiful place but government dont take advantage of this area, was Sunday and everything was closed, restaurants, stores rental boats, etc, very disappointed!!!!!

Beautiful place to walk and enjoy your day stress free environment. No one bothers to when youre walking. Its safe to bring your family here during daytime and evening during the night Im not sure cause I have never done it.

The Canal Walk is one of our favorite places! A wonderful oasis in the middle of the city to take a walk, enjoy the views along the waterway. There are several water features, benches and stretches of grass along the way that you can take advantage of to relax. Plenty of space to safely social distance. We stopped for an Italian ice at Frescos, visited the memorial for the USS Indianapolis today.

Beautiful, most see place. Love it especially when you rent a paddleboard. Awesome!

The view is so peaceful and spectacular! We ate at a restaurant along the walk, and stopped at the park. The elevator took us a minute to find, but thankfully it is wheelchair/stroller accessible

Interesting place to hang out. A few interesting businesses. I enjoyed it, but I went when it wasnt too busy. If you went at peak times youd probably like it a bit less.

There is a great new playground here with padded rubber beneath it, a bunch of climbing opportunities, a big slide, and plenty of walking along the canal. Check it out.

So fun! Rented a Paddle boat. Awesome tunnels to Paddle through on the boats. Bring 4 people and its less than $10 each. Lovely murals and the water is a lovely blue.

The Canal Walk provides miles of well-maintained recreation space right at the heart of downtown, with colorful murals, historic markers and art installations that all complement the canal. It’s a destination unto itself and also offers easy, protected pedestrian access to museums, restaurants and cafes.

One of my favorite places in Indy, the canal is so beautiful. Great for evening or morning walks in the summer. And they just added an amazing playground area!

There is a parking lot connected to White River State Park that we parked at for 8.00 for 3 hrs. It was plenty of time to walk the whole canal and the park. It is worth it. There is a variety of things to do and see along the canal.

BEAUTIFUL in the summer time. My family is from fort Wayne and we were visiting Indy and figured wed kill some time here without spending money. We loved it. Well probably go back and walk down the canal every summer. My kids were blown away by the gondolas (one guy operating a gondola was singing for the cute couple taking a ride).It would be dreamy to live in one of the apartments along the canal.

Very serene location in the city (though to be fair, I visited this place on Thanksgiving.) Great atmosphere for jogging, walking your dog or simply releasing stress.

It was such a lovely evening going for a walk on the canal. I had a wonderful time taking in the sights of the canal at dark. And for as chilly as it was out, there were a surprising amount of people out there this evening.

We LOVED the experience of the Canal walk. How awesome & pretty it was. Lots of people walking, running, riding bicycles. All around great place to check out. We thought it was clean, fun, & very much needed for a larger town like Indianapolis.

What a really beautiful location. All kinds of things to do down along the canal. Some very beautiful Parks, lots of memorials, and lots of people and bands down along the canal. The Congressional Medal of honors Memorial is there, and the memorial to the USS Indianapolis. All kinds of beautiful Parks down along the canal, the Military Park was particularly beautiful and open. A very enjoyable place to kill an afternoon, and enjoy some fresh air and sunshine.

Nice walk thats best enjoyed on sunny days. The walk goes through the IUPUI campus, people could be seen enjoying canoeing and pedal boating. Gandolas can be rented to goes through the canal. Bikes are also available alongside the canal for $1 for each 15mns. Overall great place to enjoy for individuals, families and couples .

Im from out of town, but this will continue to be a must-visit place whenever I come back! Although it was February, I could tell how alive the canal must become once the weather turns. Loved all the cool sites and things to see!

I went with my family, love the kid’s park. The only reason I don’t give it a 5 is because the only restroom thy had was locked. But besides that is was a nice promenade with my family.

Amazing place to walk, bike, it just hang out. Makes it easy to get to some parts of downtown by foot while bypassing roadways. I only wish there was more to do on the canal itself, such as shops and restaurants, rather than the majority simply being residences and hotels.
