Beautiful and relaxing park in Houston with a beautiful change in scenery from the traditional downtown landscape. It was pretty busy, so parking is very difficult, but I would recommend this park. Even took senior & family pictures here, and they turned out great! (Also a 5-star review for Kerri Clark Designs!)

Absolute serenity!! This is honestly one of my most favorite parks. Beautiful grounds and idea location in the museum district. Walking distance to several museums and good eats. They offering paddle boats and train rides. Lots of seating and clean restrooms (well for the most part). Definitely worth a visit when in town.

Great park for the family to take a stroll, or for a runner to get some miles in. Lots of ducks too. We ventured over to the train and took a ride. That was nice too. Lots of benches around too, just in case you need a break or want to soak up the ambiance. Its close to the zoo and museum too. Lots to see and do. Parking is free with a 3 hour limit.

Hermann Park is a frequented spot of mine. It has many great trails for running alongside very well maintained park space. It’s a fantastic spot to relax, play spike ball or frisbee, enjoy some natural beauty, have a picnic, go on a walk, or a myriad of other activities. As a fun fact, It was used to film a few scenes in the famous movie “Boyhood.” You’ll always see others enjoying their time at the park, riding the train, riding their bike or relaxing. There always seem to be bits of wildlife too - geese, ducks, fish, turtles, rabbits, and other animal friends. The statues and monuments in the park are pretty cool and the golf course is a slick course. It’s nice to have a great park like Hermann in Houston!

This is such a great park! You have the McGovern Centennial gardens that you can walk through or sit on their chairs or benches and enjoy the views of the waterfall there. You can also take a jog at their trail that wraps around the golf course (which is what I enjoy the most). There are also some weekends where theyll host events at the Miller outdoor theater and you can sit on the hill and enjoy the performances. You can roll down the hills (with the kids or on your own) or use them for a workout, or picnic out there. During the spring, they also have the kite festival, which is a plus. Now, they have a drink stand (Fast squeeze) that sells refreshing items during this heat. Below a pic of coconut, pineapple, and ginger juice.

Its just not the same, visiting the Zoo during this Pandemic. I know the employees are doing there best, and taking all precautions, however the fun filled days are gone, right now. Hardly any of the animals were out where you could see them, or they were asleep. In fact it was a lot of walking, for nothing. Pretty boring this time!

Now that the weather is cooler all the animals were active and fun to watch instead of hidden from the sun and heat. The baby elephant was running around. The giraffes were walking their pen. Even the tortoises were active. It was great. The only downer at this zoo is NO lockers. Why not?

I have been enjoying this park for cycling. This park has mostly terrain compared to Buffalo Park whereby they have asphalt pavement. I still do enjoy this park very much, just wish it was bigger. I do circles in this park. I do wish they had specific cycling and walking paths. I have noticed that other parks in Houston have this same issue. I guess I’m not used to cycling on the same pathway as a walker etc. I don’t see why this couldn’t be done, there’s plenty of space to make this happen. Perhaps it’s not a popular opinion. Still enjoy cycling here for fun though.

If you take the exercise trail around near the zoo, you may get lucky enough to spot a new animal or two being transferred in (dont tell anyone). Theres a cute little train you can take around the park, Golf course and A an outdoor theatre for events. Very multipurpose and stilll gorgeous. Youll see a lot of people working out in outdoor classes. But be warned, If you take an exercise class there... Be afraid of THE HILL! The Centennial Garden there is beautifully kept and very tranquil. It would be even better if there were more shade over the benches near the cascading water. Also, be sure to get a permit beforehand if you are planning to have professional pictures taken (graduation, wedding, etc). Security WILL stop you! Please be mindful that they are doing their job just like you are expected to do yours.... With that being said.... Once security has made their round.... Pose. Snap. Move, lol. If you dont have professional looking cameras and lights that you have to set up, and props n things then no permit required. So may the Snappin Happen!! God bless....
