Nice small museum, with both permanent and temporary exhibits, as well as events. Nicely done.

A fantastic museum for a typographer to go check out in the city of Houston. Prices of all generations can be found in this place. If youre a graphic designer or just love typography you have to check this place out.

Interesting place. I wasnt aware it existed, but glad that I went. Id like to go back again, but without my students, so that I could really take in all of the details. It was also under renovation when we went, so a lot of things were out of order. Great guide.

Very interactive, lots of history and surprisingly fun. I recommend the guided tour. They also offer screen printing work shops at a very affordable price.

Wonder filled place. Joined a Girl Scott Group for a tour. Fun to be with youngsters learning something old new. Enjoyed the expertise of Charles Criner, former printer with both the Post and the Chronicle, showing off the various historic printers. Was able to help print a single page facsimile of the Gutenberg Bible on a replica of the Gutenberg press. Dont miss this museum.

I am in printing business for more than 40 years and this is the first time I visited this place. It was really nice with bunch of old printing equipment. Most of them are older than me!

The collection of printng equipment and printed materials from history was amazing. Inspiring to see pages of Luthers Bible, Tyndales Bible and Geneva Bible on display. Definitely worth the visit.

If you book an appointment do you have a tour make sure you call the day before to make sure the artist has put it on his schedule. Showed up for a tour with my university class today and the artist was out of town. Super unfortunate... The museum itself is really cool some of the displays arent finished but definitely worth the visit if youre into art and the history of human communication

Great place. So many of the presses are restored to working order. Its amazing to see.

I brought back home the papers I pressed.History of printing with any machines.And also videos about the history of printing (from Lascaux to Gutenberg...)Really worth to go. I will go back soon and many times.

This place is incredibly interesting! Our tour guide was full of knowledge and gave us so much interesting information about the history of printing. They even have a replica of the Gutenberg press and let us print a page. Great experience, especially if youre a type nerd.

Fantastic museum! Seriously one of the best l have been to. Take the tour there are lots of hands on exhibits. You get to see the old presses actually work and the techniques the operator uses. Good for chill kids who are curious. I would plan to spend at least 45 mins.

Seemingly small place from the outside, this museum offers a very in depth and hands on experience of the history of printing. The museum has guided tours (which I recommend) as well as self guided tours. There is a gift shop at the front as well as several galleries for local and resident artists. Definitely a hidden gem in the cities collection of museums!

Really cool place in Houston! Learned a lot about history of printing and the staff was really nice! It’s a great place for kids because they let you print from a real Columbian printing press!

A hidden gem Midtown adjacent, a great place for a Saturday afternoon of getting back to the basics. They have a working printing press and you get to learn all about printmaking. The various studios allow you to see artists at work. In a world where we read our books on Kindles and iPad, this museums shows you what youve been missing.

A hidden Houston gem. I was bored one day and decided to go. Admission is free, but if you want a guided tour there is a fee. Its interesting to see the collections, learn about the printed word, and hear the history of printing. Worth a visit.

Not only did I hear about printing through the years but I was able to print out a page. Hands on is so much fun!

Interesting place if you like history and its hands on, no red boundaries everywhere, which is cool. Theres also art classes if youre interested. Cheap place to burn an hour or two.

I recently visited the museum when it hosted the Twelfth Annual Houston Book Fair this past Saturday. I was very impressed by the space and its contents, it was nice to see how written communication has evolved over time from clay tablets to computers today! The real highlight of the museum are the working galleries with vintage equipment demonstrating the crafts of stone lithography, letterpress printing, papermaking, and bookbinding! Watching a linotype cast out entire lines of metal type to eventually form a column was a real treat in the age of the interwebz. Now I know where the term to write a column comes from! :)
