The eighty year old stripped classical style City Hall was constructed by the WPA in the late 1930s. I like the recently renovated reflecting pool. The Visitors Center on the McKinney St. (north) side of the City Hall Building is a must for local residents and out-of-town visitor. The main Central Library is directly across Walker St.A reflecting pool runs the length of the square. Almost century old live oak trees surround the pool creating shade for visitors.

I was lucky enough to stumble upon Herman Square during a food truck festival. Its a great location for something like that. There is an ample amount of seating, lots of trees for nice shade during hot Houston summers. The pool is beautiful. The square is easy to find and very accessible.

One of the central locations for Houstons many annual festivals and parades. A fair amount of green space and reflecting pool adjacent to city hall, the Houston Public Library, and the historical Julia Ideson building, home of the Houston Metropolitan Research Center. Lunchtime on weekdays usually finds the park surrounded by food trucks and, on select days, lined with farmers market and other vendor tents.

I dont by art because I *want* to, but because I *have* to- and this is both an incredible wonderland and the most dangerous place in town (for my pocket book, sntway). Beautiful setting for the festival!!

Herman Square is essentially the reflecting pool at the back of Houstons City Hall. Its quite a nice park, with large trees dotted around it. This visit was for the Art Car Ball, to celebrate and support Houstons Art Car Parade. On Wednesdays in the better weather they will have a Farmers Market at lunch time, with food trucks also present. There is lots of parking near, but you may have to pay during busy hours.

Hermann Sqaure is a central meeting point for gathering of all types in the city. Markets, free events, and it also serves as great little park space in front of the City Hall. The architecture is tasteful & aesthetically pleasing. Please be respectful of the grounds and its purpose when visiting, as it is very well maintained and puts forth and image of Houston ideals.

This place hosts the farmers market during the spring and summer. It has really good food but expect to pay no less than $10 for practically anything. Its a nice treat since its only every Wednesday. It could use some more tables as there are rarely any open during the farmers market. Oh, and they also usually have live music which is pretty decent.

Every year, the 4th Largest City in the United States of America, puts on the same boring light display in front of City Hall. When are the citizens of this Great City going to hold the Mayor, Sylvester Turner, and his Administration liable for no Vision and no Creativity. Poor Excuse for the Laziness of Our So-Called Mayor.
