Baby Day was very fufilling with to my heart with love. I cant wait to take my new baby here on baby day if they have another one. I was so fufilled I dont know how to explain it but all the parents brought their babies and I arrived and could instantly fill the presence of love it was amazing and healing to my heart
Great day for a activities...area is under construction...expect confusion on Bagby Street near City Hall and meter paid street parking still required. Shouldnt be on weekends, especially during Covid19 and lack of traffic on area.
Nice park with a reflection pool. Lots of homeless people hang out there but they wont bother you. The City Hall building makes for a great backdrop.
This park is awesome!.. It’s look like it has more than hundred thousand lights all over the park and also it has giant Christmas tree in the center of the park. These Christmas lights Are sponsor by Reliant energy. This park is great place for the family gathering and picture taking because this park Is Unique and with Historical value in it.
Great place for rallies and marches. Have been there several times for rallies. The acoustics are fair. Can get hot in the summer so bring water. Also a great place for kids/ families
My girlfriend and I went to walk the area is really nice... looks alot better than when I was a kid... the need to develop it like the river walk in San antonio... just my opinion ofcourse... we will return again one day soon... signing off Two Peas
I love this place in Houston. I usually use it for my Agency’s Press Events.Every Wednesday the local artists hold a Market here and people from surrounding offices go there for a varied lunch and snacks options.
The Bayou City Art Festival was great. The food trucks were scattered, hard to find, and way overpriced. The art was fantastic. Many a had a reasonable to very expensive price tag.
I like the festival they have and I like to work them and meet new people. Its an outy especially when theres an event. Fun fun fun.
Every city has a city hall. City Hall in Houston has a lot of history behind it. I highly recommend coming for a stroll on a nice sunny day.
Beautiful work. Powerful. Wish I Had a wall that was worthy.
The eighty year old stripped classical style City Hall was constructed by the WPA in the late 1930s. I like the recently renovated reflecting pool. The Visitors Center on the McKinney St. (north) side of the City Hall Building is a must for local residents and out-of-town visitor. The main Central Library is directly across Walker St.A reflecting pool runs the length of the square. Almost century old live oak trees surround the pool creating shade for visitors.
Very nice place. A good hangout for a family
Pretty cool place! They had a kind of farmer market when we were there, with a bunch of food trucks with great food and tents selling fresh fruits and other wares.
I was lucky enough to stumble upon Herman Square during a food truck festival. Its a great location for something like that. There is an ample amount of seating, lots of trees for nice shade during hot Houston summers. The pool is beautiful. The square is easy to find and very accessible.
Beautiful place to have a romantic walk on Christmas Eve...
One of the central locations for Houstons many annual festivals and parades. A fair amount of green space and reflecting pool adjacent to city hall, the Houston Public Library, and the historical Julia Ideson building, home of the Houston Metropolitan Research Center. Lunchtime on weekdays usually finds the park surrounded by food trucks and, on select days, lined with farmers market and other vendor tents.
My favorite Park and chill place best park in Houston
Visited for the Bayou City Art Festival. Holy moly !! There is an art festival and then there is THIS art festival. I dont by art because I *want* to, but because I *have* to- and this is both an incredible wonderland and the most dangerous place in town (for my pocket book, sntway). Beautiful setting for the festival!!
My fave park in the whole world. Theres so many great trails and epic views to discover at this park, not to mention the amazing zoo.If you need a piece of mind, or just some great photo locations, this is the place. Oh and if you really want to be a Houstonian you gave to roll down hippie hill at least once.
Great place to visit your homeless relatives!
A beautiful outdoor escape from the home.
Home square is a wonderful place to be a beautiful area with reflection pond right in the heart of the city at city Hall to wonderful place to visit up hangout and bring the family
ONE OF THE MOST ATTRACTIVE PARKS IN USA
Loved the old mass now love the new 1 something different ride on
Nice place to take pictures
It was okay, It was quiet and I was not being bitten by insects.
Herman Square is essentially the reflecting pool at the back of Houstons City Hall. Its quite a nice park, with large trees dotted around it. This visit was for the Art Car Ball, to celebrate and support Houstons Art Car Parade. On Wednesdays in the better weather they will have a Farmers Market at lunch time, with food trucks also present. There is lots of parking near, but you may have to pay during busy hours.
Im visiting Houston. You have too many homeless persons hanging out here. Perhaps you need to change the name from Hermann Square to Homeless Square.
Visited City Hall for the Justice for Maleah walk. Very well arranged!
Amazing weekend attending the Houston Art Car parade and festivities . It was awesome!
Hermann Sqaure is a central meeting point for gathering of all types in the city. Markets, free events, and it also serves as great little park space in front of the City Hall. The architecture is tasteful & aesthetically pleasing. Please be respectful of the grounds and its purpose when visiting, as it is very well maintained and puts forth and image of Houston ideals.
We had no idea this was in downtown Houston. Its a neat place with food trucks, a pool and its in a neat location. great for checking out in the summer, when you can walk around.
This place hosts the farmers market during the spring and summer. It has really good food but expect to pay no less than $10 for practically anything. Its a nice treat since its only every Wednesday. It could use some more tables as there are rarely any open during the farmers market. Oh, and they also usually have live music which is pretty decent.
Lovely and relaxing as always
You will LOVE this park! Truly an under rated gem in Houstons park repertoire.
Went to the Houston food truck festival with my lady and it was great. Lots of different food truck options, great live music, was crowded but still easy to move around. My only gripe was that the scarcity of bevarages made it hard to enjoy some of our foods.
GETTING READY FOR THE 911HEROES RUN FOR THE TRAVIS MANION FOUNDATION.
Nice view
Very nice and quiet place
Great place to spend the day. Check for local events.
Great green space that houses the Zoo, Butterfly Museum, arboretum, ect.
Nice spot to take pics
Great little Park.
Wonderful scenery in a nice place to sit out
Every year, the 4th Largest City in the United States of America, puts on the same boring light display in front of City Hall. When are the citizens of this Great City going to hold the Mayor, Sylvester Turner, and his Administration liable for no Vision and no Creativity. Poor Excuse for the Laziness of Our So-Called Mayor.
Beautiful park. Sits in front of city hall. Its small and can get overrun by the homeless at night.
Not enough parking space
Park outside city hall.... turns into a venue for everything from farmers market to festival grounds. Long shallow pool that can be a great relief during summer events.
A memorable moment
So much fun. But parking was a hassle
They have Moody Gardens which have world class entertainment for free. Jogging and bike trails, japanese garden, golf course, weight room, basketball court, and handball. Outside showers and a zoo thats open 7 days a week.
There were more shapes than square, mind blown spent all afternoon looking for Hermann nice area though
Great Christmas lights
The location of the area and the safety of the vicinity was good. The location is supplemental to the various attractions nearby. We had a great time!
Nice walks here
We went for an event called Via Colori 2017. The streets were filled with artists who were creating masterpieces on different areas of the street. It was very nice to walk through on a beautiful day and observe live artistry.
Great Event #Childrens Festival
Cold but no rain very illuminated x mass tree .
I just Love it periodt
We went to the Motown Dancing in the Streets tribute. My husband and I enjoyed it. It was fabulous. The music was fantastic, the singers were on point. We will be there next year for sho! Just gotta remember to get there super early. It wouldnt been better if they had some food trucks.
Quiet nice place to take a night walk.I usually go during cold season, with a hot tea on my hand.
Nice park west side of downtown Houston. Near theater district, main library, city hall. On street and garage/underground parking for fee.
Very nice point of the city, you can get a great view from here.
Very beautiful place, so peaceful
Nice place
Nice view!
Amazing views can be seen in this downtown gem. Flea Market setup during some weekdays with food trucks and a concert series of local musicians. The only downside is the local homeless crew which can sometimes be smelly and hungry.
Great place to sit and relax. Surrounded by Oak trees, the reflection pool and Houston City Hall. Short walk to the theater district. Plenty of parking close by.
Nice layout for an event with a parking garage conveniently located next to Herman Square
Was decorated for holidays
Avoid weekends if you dont want traffic and fight for parking
Very nice and very clean
Great park! Its been here since ; well, before me! Hehehe! Go have a good time get outside and enjoy the outdoors. We did,you will to. Dont forget to take a picnic . See ya there
I visited at the right time! I witnessed the 87th Christmas Lighting/Fireworks Celebration. Fantastic!
Nice..Houston Food Festival. Plenty food trucks and seating area. Bring your folding chair!
Always a good place for festivals!
Been going since I was a little kid. Always plenty to do.
Nice little park
Went there to get some food - there is a nice open market there on Wednesdays during select months of the year. Park is OK, but nothing outstanding. Perhaps more trees or flowers would make it nicer.
Good park
Me and my family really enjoyed this park, we took a ridiculous amount of pictures.
So serene, clean and quiet and a great place to eat and read
Over all a nice place to relax. It can be really nice once there is an event happening.
This place looks really nice when they decorate for the holidays. Its normally nice during the day but heres a lot of sketchy people around here at night.
Is a nice park but the security few days a go was soooo disrespectfull
