I recommend this place to anyone. The hospitality was excellent. Jeannie is such a wonderful person. She made sure we were happy and comfortable. My sister gave me a night at this resort as a birthday present and I had such a pleasant time.

Great entertainment. The Tiki bar was a fun atmosphere. They staff is very helpful. We had a problem with the ceiling fan not working. They provided us with a complimentary room upgrade. Great customer service.

A hidden gem on the Hollywood boardwalk. Old Florida is still alive and well here at the Walkabout. Forget about the big box overpriced hotel next door. The Walkabout offers a sheikh boutique experience on the beach.8 rooms in total, of the 8 rooms 4 are complete with living room, dining, Kitchenette and large king room. The 2md floors give great view of the beach right from the sofa.Very comfortable. Very clean. Very well appointed with ammenties. The kitchen is a tremendous addition. Shop, get your own food and drinks.No pool, but who needs a pool when you have the beach. Hang out at the beach, or better yet hang out by the Tiki bar. Plenty of places to sit and get sun, the beach is steps away and so is your next cerveza at the bar.From the moment you book to the moment you leave the experience is phenomenal. Kudos to Veronica, she has always been there to help us out for each and every stay.We are local and love the Walkabout as our beach house getaway. I always recommend the Walkabout to work associates and family, and have had both stay here. You too will be glad that you do.

Nice, large clean rooms, small bathroom. Older but well maintained easy walking distance to most parts of the broadwalk. Quiet even with the tiki bar right outside.

Words cannot describe how extremely pleased we were during our stay. This place deserves 10 stars! From the awesome staff to the location to the rooms...everything has been top notch! Each and every person we interacted with was helpful, sweet and accommodating. I wish I was able to truly express how great this place it. My words definitely do not do it justice!!

We didn’t stay at this hotel but drank at the outside bar. Had a fun time until the bartender, Amy ‘lost’ our debit card. She said she didn’t have it when we tried to cash our out tab, then magically found it the next day when we were on to her. Then 2 weeks later our card and our friends card were ran from an escort service in the same area ... sooo if have a drink here USE CASH ONLY!!!!

Very beachy, clean, had everything we needed without asking. Felt like home, but right on the beach. Also had a boardwalk to different shops and restaurants. Had a special sidewalk just for bike riding (rentals). Id rent again if we traveled to Hollywood. thanks

Location couldnt have been any better. Right on the boardwalk and beach with so much to do. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

I was not impressed. To access room you have to pass a tiki hutt with smokers. Only followed up with hearing the hoots and hollers from inside the room.

Very cheap beers, tiki hut by the ocean and all the sun or shade you need depending on your state of tan - perfect for a day turned evening at the beach.Dont expect any food other then bags of chips for sale, but dont worry there are plenty of places close by where you can grab a bite if you start to get hungry. You can also bring food by, sit down at one of their tables on the broadwalk, grab a beer or a also cheap (typically around $5 plus happy hour and other specials happening all the time) frozen concoction at the bar and people watch as the sun goes down.Its chill, its light, make some new friends, get some sun, feel like you are on vacation whether you are or not! Its a perfect place for it.

What a great place to stop in and have a beer!!The bar tendress, Anne, is just a sweetheart and always make sure you have a cold drink and scooby snacks. very eclectic crowd and surly always entertaining.Stop in for a beer and you will want a bucket!!!

Walkabout is a great spot on the beach. Its a small tiki bar connected to a small hotel. They have great friendly service and good prices. A nice mix of friendly locals and tourists.

The Walkabout hotel has great staff who show personal interest. Their two room suites are spacious and the kitchenette is very convenient. The bed was comfortable but the sleeper sofa could be upgraded.You cant beat the location!! You can walk straight out on to the beach (beach chairs provided) or down the broadwalk which has loads of activity. The courtyard of the hotel has a tiki-hut bar that is convenient and fun but can be noisy on the nights they have live entertainment. We were sad to see some of the quaint features of the hotel have been changed. The bright pink exterior is now white and the wood floors have been covered by more industrial tiles. All said, we had fun and will be back!

Our favorite place to stay on Hollywood Beach! Every time we come we are treated like family. You can’t beat the location... steps away from the beach and the beautiful Ocean. The rooms are very clean and have a cool beach vibe. I adore Veronica and all of the staff! We cannot wait to come back !

The Walkabout Beach Resort is under new ownership and is getting a complete face lift, including new windows, Italian tile, and a brand new paint job. The Walkabout used to stand out as the art moderne-style pink hotel on the north end of the Broadwalk, but now its a very lovely pistachio and white. Veronica and her dedicated staff will do almost anything in their power to make sure you have an enjoyable stay. They even bought us some lawn chairs for the beach which is about ten steps away from the hotel. There is a funky little Tiki Bar on the central patio with local musicians playing beach tunes while the lovely Cherise serves $2 drafts each day for Happy Hour (4-7). There is just a wonderful vibe at the Walkabout that makes you feel like you are staying with family down in the Caribbean. And because of its location at the north end of the Broadwalk, there are no crowds, even when many other parts of the beach are crawling with tourists. They do not serve food at the Walkabout, but the Marriott is right next door. My wife and I stayed in one of the two upstairs suites, complete with living room offering a 180 degree overlook of the the Broadwalk and beach. The suite includes a kitchen with refrigerator, coffee make, and microwave. We have been coming to Hollywood Beach for years and have stayed in most of the hotels along the beach, and I can tell you there is no finer place to stay than the spectacular Walkabout.

Cool little tiki bar directly on the Broadwalk and as close to the ocean as can be. COLD BEER and tasty wine based drinks (no hard liquor served here). Very friendly and attentive bartenders.

Second time staying here and again a totally perfect experience. Large, light filled suite with all the amenities. Wonderful staff. Veronica is a delight and very welcoming.

This was a lovely resort. Location was unbeatable. Walk out your door and you are literally steps from the beach. Close to many restaurants and bars. Staff was wonderful and attentive. Sherry, the woman from Trinidad, was absolutely wonderful. Clean apartment with spectacular views. Highly recommended.

We stayed here 4 nights and I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The location is perfect for beach access as well as restaurants and bars on the broadwalk. The tiki bar attached to the hotel was my favorite bar in Hollywood. They had friendly service, great prices and live music. Definitely consider this hotel if youre planning a stay in Hollywood!

Fantastic! Close to everything. Right on the beach. Tiki bar, and no elevators. Bathroom sink drain was super slow. Just needed some TLC. Staff was kind and helpful. Bed was comfortable and the kitchen in the room worked perfectly for small breakfast to start your morning. We would stay again. Thanks for a great time.

Very nice place to explore. However, the bikers, rollerskaters, etc. dont tend to stay in their bike lane.Tip: Dont walk along at night by yourself.

We enjoyed our stay in Hollywood Beach. The Walkabout is on the quieter end of the Broadwalk which we like. It is conveniently located to the beach and restaurants/shops of the Broadwalk. The staff couldnt be nicer! It is an older building as are many of the boutique type hotel/motels. The rooms are nicely decorated and worked great for our needs which are basically to have a place to sleep, get ready for the beach and going out and having a refrigerator to keep drinks and items for lunch at the beach. They could use more parking as that seems to be an issue for them and Im not used to window air conditioners which were a little loud however, we would stay here again if we can find a rate around $200.

My sister and I got off a cruise and stayed four days/nights at WalkAbout. WE LOVED IT! Fantastic location easy walking distance to tons of unique places to eat and shop. Very close to everything. Its right on the boardwalk and beautiful beach. Room was very, very clean and decorated really nice florida......white and cream and light galore (we had #5). Lots of windows all around facing beach. Small but adequate kitchen. Great TV with tons of cable channels. We really had a blast there. We are ages 65 and 66. The gal manager of the place, Shanti, was astounding. She helped us with every single need we had. Shes a local, so she knows everything about the area. We would stay there again without doubt. Cant say enough about it. No, its not a 5-star place. But its great if youre looking for casual, bright and sunny, great location. Oh, and fun tiki bar right outside your door!

We would come back to this motel, this was our 1st trip without our kids. I would just request that they tiddy our room each day. It was plesant & comfortable. Easy to get in & out, unlike the big mega propertys. We liked how they had beach chairs & umbrellas to take down on the beach and the courtyard bar could be fun, we were just into the time we had with each other, not a group.

Ten steps from the beach. Tiki bar is good. Veronica very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Housekeeping kept our room clean and well stocked with towels, also made sure we had enough to cover us when she had her day off.

I didnt stay at the hotel but I did stop for a drink at their tiki bar, which was ok. The beer was cold, which is a good thing but avoid the mixed drinks, they are horrible.

We have been coming here for years. Super convenient since it is right next to the Marriott and the cabanas are available for rent across the broadwalk. A little less crowded part of the beach, but a short walk from the busier area and restaurants. Staff is very friendly. The tiki bar is nice in the evening and lively. Wanted to comment on the bar service, due to other review. In all the time we have been coming here, never had bad service at the tiki bar. The bartends are always first rate and super friendly!

You cannot get any closer to the beach! Staff is excellent and very friendly. Only 8 rooms, so small and cozy. Only downside, if you are on the bottom, you can hear every step the people above you take.

We had a great stay at the Walkabout, staff was wondering and willing to cater to our needs since we traveled with 2 children under 2, they provided us with a highchair and playpen! We will definetly be be back, you cannot beat the location of this hotel!

This place was very clean with friendly staff.The ocean view room I had also had a window in the western wall which means the room was nice and bright the entire day.Also could open windows and get a nice breeze.The parking was right next to building and room included microwave and refrigerator.The tiki bar was right in front if you like to drink,they also had beach chairs for guests.Good place for a laid back relaxing vacation without the big hotel drawbacks.

Stayed here for 2 nights, wish it was longer, this place was fantastic!First person we met was Lisa at the Tiki bar. She was awesome and gave us a perfect run-down of the property, room, and available amenities. Veronica was also really great to work with when we checked in.For us, this place has a great location on the boardwalk (err.... broadwalk?). A quieter spot and only a short walk to some more happening parts of the beach area. Multiple restaurants with short walking distance, and a lot of the places had a lot of different seating arrangements to handle the sudden wind gusts and rainstorms which seemed to be frequent and random.The room was very clean and well furnished. Fridge was pretty new, A/C units were great with handheld remotes for control, microwave, coffee maker, and even flatware, silverware. and cooking utensils.It was great to be able to walk out right from our room, past the tiki bar, and directly onto the boardwalk, and then right on to the beach! Beach chairs and towels were provided with no hassles.For anyone looking for a more relaxed visit to a beach in Florida without the club/dance/expensive atmosphere of Miami Beachj, we highly recommend coming out to Hollywood instead of Miami. We split our trip between this resort and a hotel on Miami Beach, and actually bought new flights home a day early just to get out of Miami.All in all, this place gave us one of our favorite vacation experiences. The cost, service, cleanliness, and amenities here were fantastic! Will never return to Miami, but would come back to Hollywood just to stay here again.One last note, for anyone wondering, this place is painted white now (Oct 17), though a lot of the pictures still show pink, but it looks great.
