This is not so much a park, as a green space in between 2 subdivisions of large homes. On google maps there is not even a path in the park and there is a reason for that, the water tower. Overall, quite meh.
Beautiful wild space to enjoy nature. Many small paths that meander through the woods. It is easy to get lost and is not the best park for young children, due to the fact is is mostly steep forest, but is a great area to spot wildflowers, woodpeckers, and animals. However there are no signs at any of the junctions in the woods, and lots of deer paths that may mislead you from the main paths, so be able to retrace your steps in case you get turned around! There also is a bmx bike trail hidden in the woods too! (It is slightly overgrown)
Great for a family outing and a run! Take your dog a picnic and enjoy the scenery...There are many places to travel off the path and hike up into the mountains but bring your GPS and a camera as you might get lost enjoying nature... A must see
This is not a developed park. It is a free space that happens to be right behind my in-laws house. There are no maintained trails, no parking. Nothing.
White washed and overdeveloped. If this is a park I am an alpaca.
I followed instructions to the Equestrian way entrance. There is no entrance here. A rather annoyed woman explained the land had been bought and (mcmansions) had been built on it. Google sends a bunch of people up here still.
Awesome urban nature park with miles of easy to moderate hiking trails. Parking lot tends to fill up on weekends and holidays. Beautiful views of the Cascades on clear days.
I love this place but it is really more of a small wilderness preserve with a small hiking trail than what most people think of as a park. If you are looking for picnic tables, playgrounds, bathrooms or any pavement you will be disappointed. There is no central parking, just small trails in from side streets in the neighborhood all around. If you want to take a stroll in the trees or ride your mountain bike and not see manu other people, you will be pleased with what you find. Lots of nettles and brambles so be careful if you take kids or pets!
Not a place for children! There is a big falling hazard that children or older ones can fall in and not easily get back out. This is a very small area at the and of a dead end road. There are no trails, no tables, no benches that would identify it or have it be used as a park. It really isnt a park at all, just a green area surrounded by trees. Its full of birds and their songs but you cant explore it. Its a small deep water overflow area for the neighborhood. This would make a nice hiking area if what looked like a wildlife trail were marked. Otherwise there isnt anything to do but listen to birds. You cant really walk it.
Love walking the trails all throughout the butte... I gained access via the east side...see Google Maps.... I like that its not really a developed park.. And the water tower at the top is cool too. There are no restrooms....and the trails are mostly straight up and down....but hey if thats the workout your looking for then this is the right butte.
There isnt a park here. I dont know how this still hasnt been updated. If youre looking for one in this area, go to Powell Butte down the road West from here.
Its nice and peaceful right on the bike path I like the water as my peace and serenity to give it a shot whether for biking walking
Thanks B fish for your comment. I can see the Butte from my work and wondered if there was any parks or what have you up there. But your comment made it clear not to bother going up. I do really appreciate the info and the comedy of your review.
Really tranquil. Awesome wild life around. And of course a horse...
Great primitive trails. Neighborhood street parking at trail ends, or enter from the Springwater trail. No facilities.
Cool spot. Dog friendly or so it seems
A great day park for humans, leashed pets (including horses) Offers a variety of terrain, forested to grasslands this is a park with many long well-kept trails. If your a fancy city boy this isnt your typical hour hike youll need time to explore, leave your fancy-boy shoes at home.
It is a bike and a pedestrian paved trail through the city and country side as well.
Its a very good place for walk and run.
Quiet and peaceful
EDIT: There seems to be confusion around where/what this place actually is. People are describing/posting photos of three separate places. The pictures of the paved trail along Johnson Creek are actually of the Springwater Corridor. The pictures of the woods were taken in the nameless green space/animal preserve that isnt really open to the broader public. Neither of them are part of the REAL Jenne Butte Park, which is actually just a large grass field/swing-set in the middle of the neighborhood far removed from the woods.Let me point out another inaccuracy: The very first review of this park that you see on google is from a person called Miguel tapia. He gives it five stars and says It is a very good place for walk and run and posts a photo of what is 100% NOT Jenne Butte Park, or anywhere near it, but is in fact what appears to be Portland Reservoir Number 5. So good job, Miguel. Thanks for making people think theres a lake and a nice jogging trail here when neither are true.To Kristina Brinton: I suspect the woman you encountered was my elderly mom, as her house is the one people park in front of, whos property is regularly trespassed, and who people approach/argue with when she tells them that theres no park there. But what you claim she told you is surely not what she told you, because this place was never going to be a park. It was originally a farm dating back to the pioneer days. It was then sold to developers 50 years ago, subdivided 40 years ago, then houses began slowly popping up one at a time. Our house is 20 years old and its one of the newer homes in the neighborhood, but our road was put in ~30 years ago. Metro then bought the rest of the hill and made it an unregulated green space.***ORIGINAL REVIEW FOLLOWS***We live on the edge of this park and there are two entrances to the trail that basically cut through our property. I use quotation marks here because this place is not a park, its just a wild, undeveloped forested area that happens to be owned by the city. And theres no real trails here, just some narrow foot paths that were carved out by some teenagers 25 years ago, and which are effectively useless and inaccessible in every season but winter. The city doesnt maintain this place, theres no place to park your car, and the entire thing is buried under tangles of blackberry thickets and stinging nettle.Yet thanks to the wonders of the internet, every day for the last five years, people have driven up here, parked their cars, and gotten out with confused looks on their faces as they try to access some magical otherworldly power within themselves that will let them see where the park is hidden. Theyll pull out their phones and refer again to whatever ill-informed website told them they should visit this park, and confer with their companions in utter bemusement as they spend several minutes slowly walking around the edge of a stinging mess of spiky crapbushes in their shorts and T-shirts and wonder openly if they should enter and risk getting shredded. To which I say, sure! Go ahead on in there! Have fun!OR... you could avoid wasting your day driving out here for nothing and just go to a park or trail you know is actually a park or trail. One person wrote in their review that theres no signage for the trail head. Umm, yeah that should tell you everything you need to know. That is, there IS NO TRAILHEAD. There is no TRAIL. Another person wrote that theres a lot of downed trees lying on the trail. Yes, exactly. Not a trail. Not a park. The city barely even knows this place exists. Its just green space thats been set aside, mainly so animals have a place to live. You want a real park with a trail, go to Powell Butte. Its like five minutes away from here. But no, please keep coming here. We have a lot of fun watching you from the house, laughing and taking bets on who will be brave enough or dumb enough to try to break through the undergrowth.
Love the area and people
This butte does not get a whole lot of use. The trails are a little over grown. There is a great deal of stinging nettles here, wear long pants. I did stumble across a dirt bike course someone has made on the side facing the springwater bike path.
An unassuming woodland above the Springwater trail and behind some outer Gresham residential area. Not much here; some trails, a small mountain bike track, deer and a ton of stinging nettle.
Went to a friends bday party. Lots of friends & family, fabulous neighborhood, great view from living room.
Its convenient!
Dont bother folks. Head over to Powell Butte
Very peaceful
Good place at the park
Beautiful and rugged.
Could not find an entrance to the park Ive done walked all the way around the damn Park and could not find one inference I might have found a trailer to but there is 10 scammed up there so I didnt think that was the park
Its not a park
Jumps not for chumps

A lot of down trees, and no signage for trail head.
Nice hike but watch out for the stinging nettle!
