No service animals allowed or pets.No smoking is allowed here.Its free to use the trails here. There is no parking here so you have to park on the street. I would say 15 and older are the ages I would bring for this hike. Going downhill is not very strenuous but the heel going up gives you a real workout. If you have asthma bring your inhaler.This Trail is very beautiful and stunning On our hike we ran into Chipmunks, birds and snakes. The air smells very refreshing like pine. I would love it if my whole house smelled like this. You hear lots of animals on this hike. I really enjoyed this hike it was a lot of fun.

Nice hiking trail hidden amongst homes. Moderate hiking but very enjoyable. Will try running through it next time.

Overall a pleasant location to hike at. The trail network contains some steep stretches. A notable feature near the summit is an abandoned truck that was originally used for work involving a cancelled Mt. Hood Highway project. The top summit itself has nothing more notable than a green watertower and is devoid of views due to the surrounding trees, so if spectacular views are what you seek, go to Hogan Butte instead (which is only a short distance away).

Great hike! Not too long but I would suggest shoes with good tread for the returning loop. There are several steep parts and roots to step over on that path but its worth the little challenge. Its was like being out in the mode of no where but still at home. My granddaughters did great the 3yr old walked most of it the 1yr old I carried in a backpack for half of it.

Nice respite in nature in an otherwise urbanized area. Didnt see a single person on a lovely mild summer day. Dogs are not allowed - which is patently ridiculous. Clearly Metro doesnt care much about the wellness of its citizens! Invasive weeds are knocking at the door, so enjoy it while you still can!

Really fantastic easy trails. Unfortunately, poorly signed and not well connected to other trails like Springwater.

Quite and peaceful to talk, walk or just admire mother nature in all of her beauty right here in the city. Honestly one of the best since its still natural for the most part and you barely see anybody so..... Again great place for a nice ole meditation.

Beautiful trail. Has some steep hills but also some flat areas. Lots of birds, flowers nature. Have seen deer, rabbits, Hawks, squirrels, snails, slugs and butterflies. Definitely would return. Its a good workout!

Nice place to have a nice quiet walk... No bikes swishing by at 90 mph!... The paths are well maintained too...cant really go wrong here.

One of the many old extinct Cinder cones in the Portland area, this one just south of downtown Gresham. There are a couple locations you can park to access the walking trails. Good place if you really enjoy a tough run since the access roads beyond the gates are pretty steep. There is also a Trail Loop on the south side of the Butte just above Butler Road.

Another Butte that was once a volcano offers a hiking trail through the forest and up to the more populated Gresham Butte.There are several starting points for this trail from the east, west, and south where you can begin.Both the east and the west go through the saddle between the two aforementioned buttes which is a gradual incline. Upon heading south at the crossroads is where it gets steep. It is like that the entire way up to the top where the water reservoir is located.You may notice a few off path trails on the way up. If you choose to go this way, youll eventually come across an old utility bus. It is a bit rusty so mind the gaps.There are not any good views to speak of but the city is looking into creating a nature park with better views sometime in the future.
