Nice steep up grade walk just about 2 mile walk. Great view of mountains. Disability Parking with nice flat sidewalks for wheel chair accebility. Note Disability parking is past first area of parking and up steep road to park in Disability parking spaces. Bathroom and water fountains open for warmer seasons. Plenty of picnic tables to eat at. Lovely walk.

A decent very small walking/jogging park, good for dog owners for a small walk, a little steep but good road in the beginning and then a loop track. Around 0.75 miles of total track but with a decent view. Also a small picnic spot with few benches, so a small family can have a good time.#hoganbuttepark #oregonadventures #thingstodoinportland #aroundportland #mounthoodview

This is such a sweet little park with a lovely view. For such a short walking trail, it certainly attracts a lot of people. There were probably four other small groups of people walking the path when we got there around 4:30pm and there were more coming up the hill when we were leaving.

It was a nice little paved path. A pretty view, and a quick loop for an easy morning walk. Headed up from the general parking is a steeper hill but its nothing bad.

Cool that there is a drive and drop circle at the top, parking is at the bottom and a steep hike up. Majority is paved and reminds me of switchbacks during a normal hike. The covered area was at the right spot to get a cool breeze during the hot summer day. Historic info was nice as well.

Superb View. Its very much like Powell Butte minus the trail network now that the park has been finished. Access is better now than it was before. Previously, it was a somewhat isolated empty mountaintop meadow, but was still an extremely pleasant place to visit nonetheless. The attached picture shows the park in 2015 before it was developed to how it is now.

Its small compared to the likes of Powell and Tabor but has lots of potential, maybe wooded trails winding around the Butte, with some bb hoops, volleyball horseshoes, badminton, tennis, water slide!!! It just seems like it was designed by adults for adults, only to bring their kids. It should be a safe haven for the local kids to run rampid and go tribal away from the adult world.

Absolutely beautiful views of mountains when clear. Nice trail and picnic area with BBQ pit. Nice lookoit to view mountains with plaques describing the mountains and if you stand by the plaques they point you directly to that mountain. Also some nice signs along the trail about the area and animals in area. Only have four stars instead of five because the restroom has been out of order almost since the opening because not enough water pressure from tower otherwise would give it a 5.

One of the newest Parks in Gresham. Several nice picnic tables and barbecue set ups for briquettes. A short paved path with nice views although in the years ahead the trees might start obscuring the views. You can see the Columbia River Gorge, Mount Adams, Mount st. Helens, and Mount Hood.

This short sweet hike begins at the end of Gabbert road where you hike up a paved road to the top. The plants are freshly planted and will look great in just a few years time as they grow. By the way, you are standing on an extinct shield volcano which as the plates move is now active along the cascade range. The view is nice seeing over much of the far eastern Gresham and into the Mt. Hood Wilderness area.Sheltered areas are near the top for a nice picnic between nature. The handicap parking is located at the end of the road along with a restroom. The historic house at the bottom is not currently opened but I sure hope they open it up again and restore it to the speakeasy it once was, or at least as a museum of one.

Lovely park to see a view. Has a restroom and a wonderful covered picnic area with multiple tables (plus more along the short trail). Be forewarned that you have to hike up a steep trail from the parking lot and its not a great place to kick around a ball since you risk losing them if they roll down hill into the blackberry bushes.

Review №33

I love the location of this park. The views, from the Right Spot, are really spectacular, seeing 3 major peaks (Helens, Adams, Hood) and sometimes on super clear days, Rainier and maybe Jefferson (although Ive yet to catch a clear enough day to see either of those canos). Having said that though, there are numerous issues I have with the way its laid out. The access: rather terrible. The only parking for anything smaller than a literal bus or disabled parking is all hundreds of feet below the peak at the bottom of a windy hill. Getting up there with kids or picnic ingredients would be a total pain parking in the designated area. It is a sidewalk hike, so it is safe to walk but its not an easy climb for some! The other issue is the amount of trees that obscure the view. As mentioned earlier, theres really only One good spot nearest the water tank at the peak of the hill where the mountains are largely visible with minimal trees obscuring the outlook. Its totally ridiculous to me to get all the way up there and not be able to enjoy the view from the parking lot or picnic tables because Far Too Many trees block the view, even of Mt. Hood! It would not take much extra effort to clear the trees that directly block the mountain ranges/peaks to greatly improve this, noting that its Surrounded by a dense, deciduous/evergreen mixed forest and that a few trees tapered down to improve the otherwise spectacular view wouldnt harm a thing. Hell, one could even replant some of mature trees or take the wood from them and turn it into park furniture for the Butte. I hope it ends up being better maintained than it currently looks from a foliage standpoint, both ground-level and tree-wise as its otherwise capable of being one of the best views of multiple mountains in the Cascade range that Oregon has to offer, let alone in a city.

Review №34

Update: I really still cant see the point of this total waste of money! My review still stands!!This park has got to be the biggest waste of city money ever. The so-called views are blocked by trees that are not on city property and what you can see is better viewed from Larch Mountain.$2 million for a dopey, poorly conceived Mayoral boondoggle, when this city has far more pressing needs.Dont waste your time on this one. Its a real disappointment.

My wife and i pulled into the neighborhood because we saw the sign and were curious when the park hours were. There is a couple parking spots that arent gated in so we pull in and my wife decides to have a cigarette. Not even 3 minutes later a security guard or cop in an unmarked suv comes up with his hand on his gun approaches me on my drivers side asks if we live in the neighborhood and we replied no we were just curious because its a new park and wanted to see the open hours. Then he asks if we are okay.lol I think im just gonna stay away from Their neighborhood.I am just going to look up pictures instead of trying to visit this park.

Seems like a waste of taxpayers money to build all that just for that tiny little Park tucked into the back of some residential neighborhood nobody will ever go back into. No place to play ball or even throw a frisbee around. Seems more like an expensive walking path for the 20 some expensive homes up there but paid for by the city.
