I know nothing about buddhism, but I can tell you this place is awesome. Its only a quarter mile or so from the Hawthorne Trail, so it was an easy bike ride, and they have a couple bike racks. We spent 20 minutes walking around and looking at the statues. They are much bigger then I thought they would be and very impressive.

Really cool temple. Never expected to find this in Gainesville. Its clearly somewhat new because there are construction signs up, and the sidewalk looks new.Its in a weird area, though. Depending on when you visit, there might be people across the street making noise. Still, definitely worth a visit. Its a nice area.

Apparently people arent familiar with a Buddhist temple - because there clearly is no temple here. The more accurate and legal term could be a Buddhist statute park. There are certain times of the day that its noisy due to traffic and kids playing across the road, but attractive, the statutues are impressive in size. The public is allowed to visit the park like setting, and there are gazebos for meditation. But again - there is absolutely no temple at this place. There is a house on the grounds that is private & occupied (people living in it) that is off limits to the public. So why claim there is a temple. ??

Absolutely stunning and beautiful Buddhist temple. The initial temple is small, however the walking area is quite large and there are many statues to view and appreciate. The overall ambiance of the area is amazing, and I cant believe this is in Gainesville.

An extremely serene environment which is conducive for anyone who may wish to go there to just spend some me time. There are places where you can meditate as well, if you want. Out of the main road and traffic as well. Beautiful statues with such lovely crafting...all of them are smiling. Just love the ambiance.

Im only giving it three stars for right now because I wasnt real sure if we were allowed to visit yet or not so we stayed in the parking lot so as not to disturb anyone it looks like it is going to be amazing I cant wait for the peace and serenity that is going to bring to this area

First visit: in a perfect place at the perfect time, my kids and I thoroughly enjoyed our quiet walkabout, freely exploring outside gardens and pausing to reflect amidst such magnificent statuary... I think our favorite moment was sighting a young pair o red-bill ducks playing together in ponds duckweed. Ill have to come again every now & Zen ;)

I think hidden gem is the most appropriate descriptor. This place has hardly ever been advertised, not really a popular destination. Yet I must say its amazing. Secluded, quiet, peaceful setting, small pond, breathtaking statues, beautiful landscape. No entry fee, parking is free, donations are accepted (obviously). Its really fun and satisfying just to sit down, enjoy nature and meditate. I love it. Highly recommended.

The statues are massive and impressive. If you have lower body issues (walking issues) this park might not be ideal. The park is being renovated, I’m guessing pavers are in the works. If you have a child stroller or in a wheelchair, there is no way to navigate threw the mounds of sand . I’m sure In 6 months the park will be paved and ready for everyone, but for right now it’s like walking threw mountains of beach sand.

I randomly encountered this place and I turned around to go back. I encountered one of the monks and asked permission to look around and she welcomed me. The statues are breathtaking! There us alot of ground work going on but it doesnt take away from the serenity of the place.

The ambiance is eclectic but pleasing, the food delicious and ample. My friend an I arrived shortly after opening at 11 so it was quiet, but our food was delivered promptly, with no first customer delay. Definitely recommend for a lovely meal.
