An absolute gem. Plenty of ramps, art and supportive peeps for any rolling enthusiast. Skates, skateboards, scooters and bikes. Nearby art displays, dog park, playground, open area and convenience stores can make this a full day.

While known for the popular skate park, Possum Creek Park also has a nice size dog park (though there is a lot of bare dirt on the big dog side), kids playground, and grassy open area surrounded by a paved walking trail. Very popular at certain times of the day. I usually visit so my dog can play and socialize at the dog park.

I live approx 45 miles from Gainesville and had never heard of this park. I met my friend there for a homemade brunch and was delighted! Beautiful grounds with a couple canopied picnic tables, with a larger hard structure pavilion with tables. We sat atop the hill near the concrete, skateboard area for kids to hone their skills for trick skating. A BEAUTIFUL breeze with our location. Their dog park was visible on the other side of a fence. Very easy parking, as well as easy to find. A sweet picnic spot.

I love bringing Leo here. He really enjoys the other dogs. Most are well-behaved, people too. However on this occasion, they were out of the poop bags on the large dog side, so there was more than usual amount of poo to be avoided when walking.

Dear City of Gainesville, I teach kids how to skateboard at this fine facility that attracts people from all over.. As a parent and skateboarder, I think the city should repair the damage that they caused when the decision was made to drive dump trucks onto the ramps and dump mulch toward the beginning of this pandemic. I think yall owe it to the community at this point to, at minimum, repair the damage. However, adding more shade and possibly some lights would be very much appreciated. People have been requesting these things for quite some time. Would be five stars... Thanks for your consideration.

Very nice place to bring your dog, big or small they have separate places for big and small dogs at the dog park. The fence could be a little higher between the big dog and the small dog oh, my dog is just a big puppy but he is a big dog and he was able to jump over the fence. He is only 6 months old. Other than that, just an awesome place, I do wish they would fill in the mud puddle and the mud hole, my dog is a lab and that is the first thing that he went for and got all muddy!

Its a cute little dog park, big dog little dog separated areas. Just not enough things for the dogs to do. I think itd be great if there was a water feature or something that the dogs could play in. Also feels a bit small. Staying for an hour seems like a bit of a stretch.

Beautiful park. I just moved to the area with my son and I wanted to check out the skate park before bringing him. I was very impressed with how well the grounds were kept and how neat everything was. The park is huge and expansive. I will definitely be coming back here. My son absolutely loved it. Much bigger than the skate park back home.

Its really a very very nice place to spend some time out. I go there with my family and enjoy the walking areas, the beautiful view. There are many nice spots to spend a relaxing time and even do some yoga . Its the perfect place to do some reading while breathing fresh air. I enjoyed watching kids playing happily in the wonderful playing areas, even the dogs were having fun. Some where board-skating and others where biking. I really recommend this place for everyone.

Hung out in the picnic area with family with birthday coffee. It was alright. Nothing super amazing but Id go again. Theres a small playground near the picnic tables. Plenty of grass space for B.Y.O. Chairs and chill. And theres a skate park across the way. AND further down from skate park is a gated dog area that is split into two sides (big dog/little dog), I like all the dogs, sometimes the people are strange (ie. if I take my medium size dog to the big side, dont bring your little dog over to the big side... thats dumb, dont be dumb). I still remember when all of this was just grass, I liked that, too. It was great for getting away. But all this stuff makes more people than just me happy, sooooo I guess thats a good thing, too. Ha!

Nice fenced dog park with large and small areas. The large dog area is probably about half covered in sand and is continuing to expand which is why I give it 4 stars. I wish the park could address this somehow. Hoses and poop bags are present in both areas.Nice walking path around the park with some wooded trails in the northern part that lead to large open grassy field where we have seen many deer

The dog park is part of Possum Creek Park. There are dog fountains and bags to pick up your animals feces. All dogs must be vacinated for rabies and wear their tags on their collars. There is a small dog area and a larger dog area but beware when dogs get into a new pack there is always competition for them to become the Alpha so be prepared to break up fights for dominance.

Good park, not much shade on hot days inside the dog park, but nice walking trails. There are kiddie pools and hoses for the dogs, as well as toys and balls. The large dog side has a low area that gets very muddy when it rains, so if tour dog likes to roll.in the mud it might be an issue. There are usually not a lot of dogs there, especially on the little dog side, so some people bring their big dogs on that side when there are no little dogs, to avoid the mud. The big dog also has some areas where dogs have tried digging their way out, and smaller dogs may be able to squeeze through. Lots of running space.

Nice dog park thats really active, and its part of the larger Possum Creek Park, which is great. There are separate sections for large and small dogs, and there is a water hose. Only issue is that the large dog park is probably 85% sand, so a trip to this park guarantees the need for a bath. Small dog park is only 10% or less sand, so not as big of a deal.

This place is awesome! It has a skate park area that is decent size, a playground area and a huge fenced in dog park area. Small and large dogs are separated. Great place to bring your family - Possum Creek has a playground for the kids, a skate park, a large field for team sports or drone flying, and a dog park (for large and small dogs). Separate parks for small and large dogs. Any pup is welcome, with no breed restrictions, so long as he/she is a good doggo. Be careful after the rain because the big dog side will be wet, and so will your pup! Trails through the woods for a pre- or post-play walk. Owners tend to be attentive and cooperative. Great place for happy puppos.

Had the park to ourselves on a cold weekend. Parked at the Argonne Forest lot. Used the pit toilets, read the sad history of the place, and hiked the trails. Be sure to take the map with you, as we found the trails to be very poorly marked. The connector trails arent marked at all, and there is no distance or destination posted anywhere so you need good map reading skills or GPS. Check out the talking trees and the skeletons of street cars abandoned long ago. Startled an entire herd of deer when we reemerged from the forest.

This place is ok. When I went there, it looked like the Gainesville antifa were practicing with medieval weapons on the soccer field, which just resembled a bunch of people who cant play real sports swinging axes and staffs in slow motion and not coming close to each other. The real beauty of this park is the skate park, the dog park, and the woods with a few trails leading to a giant hilly (for Florida) meadow where you can let your dog run free and toss the frisbee. I have never gravitated to the foolishness of the Gainesville hippy/never Never never land hipster yipster culture that infested the soccer field that day. I did see a Dad playing catch with his son, which was inspiring in the midst of the commie trash that abounded on this beautiful Saturday. The park is nice, and everyone is welcome.
