Amazing experience- probably one of the most fun bars to go to. Bartender was amazing, games were super fun, drinks were crazy good! I highly recommend the vodka vapor! I’ve never seen anything like it and I’m a bartender myself!

Expensive drinks, limited arcade games, limited space, but decent overall... besides the prices for drinks. I got a 12oz Modelo can beer and paid $7.11 for one.. smh. No drafts or bottles. They do have mix drinks so hopefully those are cheaper. Service was decent and straight to the point, but I felt like I had to catch the Bartenders attention even through it wasnt too busy at the time (maybe due to me just drinking a beer rather than mix drinks).

Love the concept! Ice cream floats, video games, and booze if youre into that sort of thing. The staff is great, and the Manager is a super friendly, patient guy. Always a fun time anytime my buddies and I stop in. Psyched that they managed to weather Covid and open back up!

This bar is amazing. The door staff is fantastic. Jeremy the general manager kicked us out because I wouldn’t let him hit the “boxing punch” thing. So we were asked to leave. We have had our mask on the entire time and he was angry because we wouldn’t let him hit our “boxing punch” game.

This bar was pretty cool and had some good games. The games are expensive however and the music was pretty loud as well. The drinks were good and they had some pretty creative ones to go with the theme they had going on. The staff was friendly and they had this weird thing of serving shots in a balloon. I wpild go back to this place. Pretty chill and not to hi maintenance.

Drink prices are decent, the music is mostly good, and the games are fun. Good for a night out.

Really cool vibe there but the games were expensive. All the drinks had really cool names and all sounded great. I tried the Triforce and the Mega Man and they both tasted good. Also tried the Mist shot which was really cool. (Never even heard of anything like that.) Its fairly small in there so not too many games to play but the selection of games they had was pretty ok. Not sure if Id go back but it was pretty cool to check out once.

Nice mix of games and drinks. Though I’ll admit I’m not of age to drunk yet, but their root beer float is definitely one of my favorites. Had a nice round with the gals on the air hockey in the back, it was really cute, never seen a machine like it. Affordable for a great time.

Easy going bar for nerds. They had Apex Legends on two screens and you could play Smash Bros. Games are fun but not a lot of group games. Try the rootbeer float with alcohol. Perfect execution of what they are going for.

New bar in the Deep Ellum scene that is reminiscent of “The Pharmacy” before it. They have a small selection of arcade games that are more for design rather then practicality. Drink are well done, and it the staff was eager to meet new people.Select Start has a long way to go, but they are definitely off to the right “start.”

In town for the weekend and wanted somthing fun to do Saturday night, but the security guard said our TN IDs were fake! So that was rad. Edit: Ended up going to Roundup saloon and dance hall and had a good time! So silver linings?

Drinks are priced fairly. Most of the games work, a couple are overpriced. Service has always been good.

I like the nice loud music to get the vibes going for the night. Cool spot to start the night off with and pre game and even break the ice. I enjoyed a couple games but they are a little pricey so I stucc to the bar as I was there to drink not game lol. Im a gamer so the drinks and their names were fun, I had me a Ray Gun(COD Zombies) and a Big Pot(Fortnite). Cool staff.

Pretty cool place to check out whether you’re in town just looking for a few drinks or you’re bar hopping Deep Ellum. It’s obviously arcade/video game oriented so they have arcade games and TVs with Esports and Twitch and what not streaming. They have some interesting drinks and even a mist shot in a balloon that’s pretty neat. I always make sure to stop by when I’m in Dallas.

Quarters? Really, who carries cash anymore? They need to charge a $5 cover and set all the games to free play. The staff was nice though.

My entire group was way older than the boy at the door and he wouldnt let us in because we our 100% legal out of state IDs looked suspicious and wouldnt budge on it. Super unprofessional and I wouldnt reccomendations visiting if youre touring Dallas.

Looking for a dessert place midnight and happened to stumble upon this bar. Security stops us from entering asking for IDs. We both are adults and now, he says you are not allowed on pajamas. My wife wanted an ice cream and I said we’d leave immediately - he says no. Then why ask Ids? Either racist place or ridiculous dress code for such a small place.

This place makes a pretty good shake that looks very enticing, however my experience was less than satisfactory. The games were broken and took our money (the bartender refunded us), they put the alcohol into the wrong shake, and the balloon full of alcohol mist tasted like spray paint.

Fun atmosphere downtown with a bar and a place where it wont swallow your date budget.

I’d love to be able to give a full review but the staff didn’t ever bring our shake. The atmosphere was cool but that’s all I can say. They had 5 staff members behind the bar yet still forgot our order. It wasn’t slammed either. I can see why people are unhappy with their customer service. We will not be returning.

I liked the shakes non alcoholic. They were crafted well with descent ingredients, and the straws were the right size to help eat this without problems. I dont know if I recommend the alcoholic versions because of how sugar and alcohol can upset ones stomach, but overall its a very fun concept and I look forward to coming back. This place has a fun and nostalgic feel. I thought the service was pretty good. I ordered at the bar and drink at the bar.

This place has a fantastic aesthetic and good service but its kinda ridiculous that you have to pay to play the games. I can find 4 other places in Dallas that wont charge me.

Make sure you bring cash, because they dont have an atm and some games are $4 to play via credit card... The beer was overpriced, and it feels like theres still work to be done on the decor, but its nice to have an arcade bar in the area.

The games were very over priced and there is not a great selection either. I liked the video game themed drink menu, but most of the drinks were overpriced for what little you got ($10 bucks for the health pack and the pouch they served it in was only 1/3rd of the way full). None of the drinks I ordered were strong at all. They seemed understaffed as well because there was only one bartended so getting drinks took a long time when the place got packed. Ive been to several different barcades in my life and this had to be one of my least favorite.

Must be a racist place or ridiculously hyped for such a small place. Wife wanted ice cream mid-night and visited the place. Guy outside asked for IDs. We showed Ids and he says pajamas not allowed. I said - wed take an ice cream and leave immediately. He sounded like he needed a reason to stop us.

Beer. Cocktails and video games. Nothing else is required in life. Ok maybe food but there was a taco cart outside that people claim where the world best tacos

Horrible experience. The place only had two physical menus that we could not get a hold of, so we just looked online. When we decided what we wanted, I approached the bar to order and the girl told me she couldnt take my order, and I had to wait 15 to put my order in with the bartender. Theres no list, no line, no organization. She kept telling people to go to the front to place their order, but then yelled at them not to crowd the front. She told us to go to the bartender, yet told other customers to wait at their table to have their order taken. Sat for twenty minutes without ever being acknowledged. Will not return.

Cool retro spot. After 10pm you must be at least 21 years old to enter. The boozy milkshakes are more than just a gimmick, they craft them to be VERY tasty. The Toaster Fire is great if you like Fireball whiskey, and the Moreo is great if you like Jameson.Would have given 5 stars but $14 is a lot for a shake, and Im not a fan of the constant rap & hip-hop they play.

Jeremy at Select Start is a great bartender (I know because he recommended Café Brazil, and anyone who recommends Café Brazil is someone I can count on) and makes a mean Hulk—not to be missed.

This is a fun, neat place that is reasonably priced for drinks (its a full bar). Most games take cards and cash and they have a change machine. If you do card you get $4-$5 worth of games at a time. This seemed odd at first, but playing the same game several times in a row was actually fun.They have two pinball machines, two basketball shooting games (short rim), a skeeball lane, and about 15 arcade cabinets.Staff was friendly and bathrooms were clean.

My daughter goes to Luna which is across the street. Im a working mom so picking her up usually leaves a couple hours of gap while she waits. Thus she became a regular here and they were super kind about my latchkey kid loitering. Their milkshakes are a super guilty pleasure and always delicious.

I’ve never been to a bar and been served a solo cup before. Reminded me of college. Also the arcade games are super expensive compared to other arcade bars.

Its a okay bar with friendly staff. It can get very packed in the weekends to where you just wanna step out. There arcade machines are eh, just wished they had more arcade type games like the Mortal Kombat 2 or Tekken.

I really hate to add this to the list out of fear the place will start getting crowded ..but this place is awesome and i feel like where has this been my entire adult life... Arcade plus drinks its a win win i cant wait to take someone on a date here

Great milkshakes, mine came with a whole brownie in top of it. Definitely worth the price.But boy howdy, should you like lines, because there is one heck of a line. It took me almost 45 minutes to get through it all.I didnt have a chance to drink vaporized alcohol out of a balloon, but that looked innovative.

I like that they have the old consoles and some of the new ones on the TV that you can play. Those are free when buying a drink. I dont like that some games cost an automatic $4.

I went in last night.... waited 20 minutes to get acknowledged while standing on the far side of the bar, while standing there, I was talking to the red headed female with the dallas skyline tattoo asking “ where do I order?” I guess she is deaf because she didn’t even acknowledge that I was standing there and I know I spoke loud enough. I waited another 10 minutes, decided to walk to the other side with the other 2 bartenders... waited 15 minutes... as I watched the guy bartender tend to 2 females right were I was standing 15 minutes ago... I made eye contact with the guy after he poured those ladies shots, he gave me the one minute finger and winked at me... so I’m standing there thinking I’m finally about to get service... NOPE.... He continued to take 2 more peoples orders. The other bartender was just standing there talking to him about random stuff while he was making one of those orders. I wave my arms like a crazy person cause I’m mad at this point... the red headed lady looked me right in the eyes, didn’t say “ one second ma’am, I’ll be right with you” or nothing... just kept walking.Very disappointed, horrible service. You can’t tend bar with THREE bartenders when there was probably 35 people in that place, maybe 10 people trying to order, there’s a damn problem! I will never try this place again. Horrible horrible service or lack there of.

If you were ever a fan of spongebob and remember Weenie Hut jr. This arcade bar feels like it. I get they have arcade games but children shouldnt be in there. The music is loud and clashes with the theme of the place (they could be playing cool video game remixes or even the classic themes) and blast hip hop.They have the most basic bar for a place that looks like a nerds paradise. Their drink menu has been subpar to some arcade bars I have been to and lacking in creativity. The bar tenders had never heard of the drunken moogle (I swear Im not trying to advertise) and was told by the owner to stick to the basics.To my fellow classy nerds this place is a weenie hut jr.

Most of the games we played were broken in some way and pretty pricey. Had a change machine as you walk in even though most games didn’t take change or their change machine was broken. Drink selection and pricing was fine, just disappointing that their main attraction was sub par

Awesome Milkshakes, it appears as though they are working on making the shop look more like a old time pharmacy with a twist. Service was great as were the adult Milkshakes. The retro pharmacy feel needs some work, but otherwise its a neat place.

Bartender Jesus B over charged us $5 on our tab and couldn’t explain why - a tip was defiantly coming his way because of the vibe and his attentiveness!, Dont like surprises and wish my calculations within price was what I added up instead of him up charging a $1 extra on our drinks to get a tip!.... really didn’t like that and wish a manger was present!

Great Concept, HORRIBLE SERVICE. It took over 25 minutes to get waited on. They only had 2 people working on a Saturday. That is a management issue not the employees fault. The employees are stressed out. Rolling their eyes when someone is waving them down to get an order. There obviously need to be a better process system in place, or this place will not last long. Definitely a college style hang out spot, not for grown adults. Age range 21 - 26.

Deep Ellum s hidden gem! Absolutely loved the variety of video games that lined the wall- along with classic 90s cartoons projected on the Cant wait to go back!

Decent bar, tiny arcade. The games available were nice, but there werent a ton of them. Theres a Switch and an SNES Classic, theres some Fortnight, and a handful of arcade classics including the original TMNT Arcade game, Guitar Hero, Street Fighter Alpha, and a 4-player Pac Man Battle Royale. Its a nice place to stop by if youre just cruising Deep Ellum.

The decor and idea is nice, but I never got to have a shake. We came in and sat at the bar for 10 minutes waiting to be served. The place was not packed, and there were 5 staff members standing around talking. They looked at us when we came in, but didnt say anything. A group of women came in, stood right by us, and the bartend immediately came to them, got their drinks, and continued to ignore us. All in all, waited 25 minutes for no service.I would love to say I liked it because the shakes look awesome, but the service--or lack thereof-- was abysmal. Will not return or recommend

Drinks are okay and they have some arcade games but the games felt over priced with not a lot of variety. We had one drink, which tasted okay, and went somewhere else.

The wait was over 45 minutes to order, there’s also no organization to assisting customers in the order they came in. The employees don’t even acknowledge customers that are waiting. This place needs more employees on the weekends and a change of management. I recommend the product but certainly not the service.

Drinks were great, service and overall experience was less than stellar. I would recommend management hire an industrial engineer consultant to help with the severe process inefficiencies that lead to the long order and drink wait times. This place would be great with a smoother process.

Love the concept and the shake itself was amazing. Had to wait in a line outside then when we got in we sat at the bar for 20 mins before even getting our order taken then sat for about 35 minutes to wait. All in all about an hour wait to get one shake. Again it was great but $7 for a shake and $14 if you want alcohol seems a bit of a steep jump in price. I am willing to bet that this place wont last as its currently set up. LOTS of room for improvement on how its set up and ran to be way more efficient. Me and my wife were pointing out things left and right that if done differently would drastically improve service speed. They need to close the gap in prices as well if they want $14 then the non buzzed needs to be more otherwise I feel like I got ripped off paying $7 for a shot added in!

Came here after a concert and it was moderately busy. I got Grannys Secret (has apple jacks cereal) my boyfriend got Toaster Fire (has cinnamon toast crunch). They both tasted the same. just vanilla ice cream with cinnamon. and they were $14 EACH! No one was playing any of the arcades, no one really stuck around or hung out.... it is a get in, get your order, take your pics for Instagram and get out kind of place.All the toppings were kinda stale... its cereal. wish the presentation was a little better or had a tad bit more effort for the price.They do have an alcohol vaporizer and I dont know if they were selling them but I saw a few people (bachelorette party) get some alcohol balloons. so thats interesting and different.

Great place to stop when bar crawling! Give yourself at least 30 min in here though. Its often busy with limited staff. They also have a couple arcade games also.

Probably the worst Barcade Ive been to in Dallas. Me and a group of 3 walked in. We were never greeted. We were never offered a drink menu. It was not busy and was just a lazy Sunday afternoon,.Half of the machines accept cash dollars only, the other half are quarters only. Some accept a swipe card that was never explained to us. All of them are EXTREMELY over priced. (LOL, 4 quarters for an ancient, barely working Mortal Kombat machine -- But hey, at least that one took quarters!)Both times that I spoke to the bar tender he was absolutely RUDE and dismissive of us. He told me to get quaters for the machines. . . then when games said Cash only, wouldnt give us dollars for our quarters for the cash only machines! I suppose we looked young so he thought we didnt have money to spend? Regardless we played a few games and just left with no drinks. Its not the sort of place Id return to or want to spend money on. Oh and the bathroom was WOW levels of gross so I guess despite being slow, there was no time to clean it.So yeah. Awful place. Unoriginal concept. Id highly recommend Barcadia over this place, or even a Dave & Busters. Go to a Barcade that understands young people have money to spend and deserve good customer service.EDIT: Not sure why someone posted on here saying All the Games are $1 but that is ABSOLUTELY not true.

I liked the vibe and style of this place. The milkshake was good, but we got the alcoholic version, which was quite a bit more expensive, and I felt like it had too much of an alcohol taste. Next time I would pay less and just get it virgin. Service was friendly, but we felt a little forgotten about, even though it wasnt busy. All in all Id go back, but it wasnt as magical of a place as Id hoped.
