Our family met here to take family photographs; however, I have been there a number of times to walk around the lake. It is a beautiful area with a lovely path for walking. Pets are also welcome!

Great place to go for a quiet walk, less busy than other parks/lakes/trails in columbia area. Has shaded areas and open areas for kiddos to run a bit more freely.This is also home to the Wilde Lake Arboretum, nothing special but it is a bit more educational for any kids you have along

Nice stroll around the lake... Especially nice just before sundown.. has some mild inclines but nothing overly taxing... Very enjoyable...

This is one of the prettiest walks in Columbia. Many shaded parts. The only drawback is that the path does not go all the way around. You have to go into the neighborhoods in two spots. Other than that its all good. Lots of birds.

The lake is AWESOME.but you cant get all the way around it on an electric scooter..also 2 REALLY steep hills..The park itself though is very nice..lots of wildlife and HUGE snails...Linda Shutter

Great park, make sure to look for the birds as many types have been reported here over the years Good fishing, play structure s for the kids and open areas for picnicing or whatever.

The best of the Columbia lakes. A pleasant shaded walk along its 1.6 mile path, plenty of parking and picnic benched, a playground for the little ones, and you can fish in the lake.

Such a peaceful and quiet park to visit! There are lots of walking paths that basically connect everywhere in the area and you could definitely spend a whole day just walking through them. the loop around the lake is really nice and the views are great

I wanted to give the lake 5 stars, but I did 4 because the people who lives here were really rude. I have lost my path, and by accident went to a backyard of one lady’s, and I said I was sorry, didn’t mean to, but she was like telling me it’s private! Get out! And slapped her door, I just came out of the church, so I prayed for her. When people mean to you. Don’t take it personally. Pray for them. Because they are living a bitter life. 1.3 miles to walk around Wilde Lake. Often there are Great Blue Herons at the lake. This time of year the flowering trees are beautiful.

My go to spot to do cardio by jogging or walking. Never gets boring due to the scenery and some Columbia history. Plenty of others around walking and doing pretty much the same.Great for fishing, boating, and picnics. Family friendly. Go on a partly cloudy day when its not too hot, walk 2 laps around the lake and youll burn an easy 600 + calories in about an hour.

The lake is a really nice place to walk and the park is great for gatherings or relaxing.

Beautiful 1.3 mile paved path goes around lake with two very steep hills on the dam side of the lake. The wild life is abundant both in and around the lake with signs next to many trees that have their type and a little about them. Park is well cared for and the people that use it are very friendly and not afraid to answer a quick question. The boat house was closed when we were there but we were told you could rent a kayak or paddle boat when it was open. Just wish there was a playset for the kiddos.

The first thing I noticed here was the variety of scenary that one comes across as well as the trail difficulty level changes a little with a few spots pretty steep. I have recently moved to the area and I am a person who likes to take a walk/cycle/run near a water body. This is it. It may not be so much for cycling but then that may be just my personal preference. There are dirt paths, paved ones mostly so, paths that suddenly go through neighbourhoods amd sometime you may feel you lost the trail since youre in the middle of homes but then surely you see the sign with the arrow. I also visited during the decline part of the pandemic so people were few but it was my first time so it may just be the time of the day 9ish am. Overall a great part of the community.

Wilde lake is a great place to go for a leisurely walk or a vigorous run. Theres hills if you want a little challenge. The lake is beautiful and safe to walk alone.

It was a gorgeous Sunday morning. Parking was a bit of a wait but once we hit the trail it was lovely. Stretched along the way, encouraged by the posts. Circled the lake and then continued along the underpath to the other side of the road where it stretches for miles and is a delight for bikers.

Some of the prettiest trails in the Columbia-Ellicott City area.Their giant playground is a kids favorite, as well as the boat rentals, snack bar on the dock, and scenic pavilions. Tennis courts and sand volleyball lots are also available. Volleyball may require reservations through Howard County Parks and Recreation, but Ive seen impromptu games occur also.The Fall foliage and sunsets have been breathtaking.Here a few recent photos taken during a bike ride. Very enjoyable hike around both lakes. Recently brought the wife and she truly liked the area. May bring the bikes the next time. Its best in Spring or Fall. To hot in summer and not enough shade.

This was an interesting walk because it wasnt just a flat path. It rolls up and down in spots to give your heart a little work out. Very nicely maintained.

Nice, pleasant park. Paths wind around the lake for an enjoyable walk. There are also several seating areas and a play ground for kids. Much less crowded than Centennial park or the lake by Whole Foods.

Pleasant walking path around the lake. Not too crowded. We spotted deer, bunnies, turtles, ducklings and squirrels on one rather brief visit. Nice place.

Lovely Columbia Association park open until 10pm. It has a great view at sunset. It has a playground, picnic tables and a path around the lake, although 10% of it cuts through a neighborhood

A good place for running, walking with dog and there is a playground for kids with picnic tables. The only bad thing is they somehow locked the restroom. Only open for public when there is having events.

A nice lake with a bike / walking trail. One thing I like about this lake is they dont permit fishing . its close to the town centre, and has benches. For biking the trail is short, paved and has some very steep parts. And they have dog waste bins

Peaceful and accessible with several pleasant walking trails.

A small but very convenient park. The path around it is pretty and a little more than a mile. Theres usually a decent assortment of wildlife if youre willing to take some time to look.

Its a good small lake surrounded by really nice and pretty houses. The only problem is that the lake water is really dirty as all the sewage from the pretty houses is dumped into this lake. Secondly to take jog around the house, one part of the loop goes through the houses, which breaks the flow and the trail.is not clearly marked, when it passes through the houses, hence jogging thru the trail is broken

Splendid combination of modernist architecture, stately trees an a small but shimmering lake. Full of natural and human life in harmony. What the rest of Columbia ought to be.

As a resident of Wilde Lake I count myself lucky. This is a beautiful area with a myriad of wildlife and fauna.

Great place for a leisurely stroll and let the kiddies run around. The path meanders around the shoreline and up into the Bryant Woods neighborhood briefly. There is a gazebo that sits out over the water near a cove that is nice to sit and watch the fish, ducks and geese. The fishing seems to be good judging by the number of fishermen around especially by the spillway.The only drawback is that you are not allowed to feed the waterfowl. I understand the reasons but it denies our children a treasured experience from our childhood.

Nice trails with steep hills around the dam of the lake. Seemingly always ample parking available. Many of the assortment of trees are labeled with informative signs. The path around the lake takes you through the old Wilde Lake neighborhood with mature trees and James Rouses old house. Great place to collect fall leaves.

The paved path around this lake is about 1.5 Km.(?) Its a very nice walk because this park is BEAUTIFUL. Its surrounded by gorgeous, private homes and is landscaped to perfection. The park is in a heavy residential, commercial area so your not communing with nature - but WOW its an interesting, beautiful walk.

Beautiful park! Excellent place to walk your dog, picnics, go strolling, and to fish. Really peaceful neighborhood, and residents of the neighborhood are friendly. I really enjoy this park for relaxing, and meditating!

The park sits at one end of Wilde Lake, a small man made lake in downtown Columbia. There is a path that takes you all the way around the lake (approx 1.5 miles) and a large field with picnic tables.The bird watching is very good. We have regular visits from great blue herons, bluebirds, and orioles, and the bald eagles that live in Howard county sometimes visit as well.I know of several professional photographers who use the park for portrait taking, as there are lots of different backgrounds, both natural and rustic (the buildings are old barns).There are lots of pokestops along the lake, several gyms, and we consistently have Pokemon activity.

Its a very nice area with very well maintained top lots. Although a number of mature trees have been lost recently that should be replaced.

Always walk with a friend. Can get crowded on weekends, so come out during the week to avoid all the strollers.

There is a circuit that goes all the way around the lake. Be aware you’ll need to walk through a few neighborhood.

This is an absolutely serene and beautiful park nestled within Columbia, MD. There is a lovely wildlife preserve for cranes and lots of beautiful plants. The accompanying dam is a sight to see. A good place to fish, to relax, and to meet friendly people during the day. Would not recommend bigger dogs as the paths are narrow and there are a lot of nesting geese

Really nice trail that goes partially through a nice, quiet neighborhood. Plenty of seating along the path. Nice photo opportunities with the dam and wild and landscaped nature. Mini-dock area Ive seen people use for RC boats. Trash receptacles by the parking area, but I didnt see any drinking fountain.

Always a nice area to take a stroll but last weekend on 9/30 someone broke into my car (shattered the driver side window) and stole my girlfriends belongings. So please be extra careful.

Beautiful park, great distance to walk around the lake for exercise. Plenty of benches on the water to sit and relax. Many of the paths have steep inclines or declines so be careful if riding a bike.

Its a nice place to walk esp if you want to walk slow. The loop is less than one and half mile. This place is peaceful compared to Centennial Park.

What I like about visiting Wildelake is the serenity and solitude that is generously offered by walking around the lake, listening to the nature and always feeling better than before.

The wildlife here is amazing! Ive seen baby red eared sliders and painted turtles, snapping turtles, black crowned night herons, green herons, great blue herons and more! I love it!
