Located on the campus of The University of Missouri at Columbia. Academic Hall was constructed in 1840-1843 as the first building of the University of Missouri and the first public university building west of the Mississippi River.Such a beautiful campus with so much historical value. The columns specifically as the remaining pillars to the original universary academic hall. Visit thomas jeffersons original headstone there in the same quadrangle.

Absolutely gorgeous!!! My daughter is graduating in May from MU, so we were down there taking some pictures for her announcements/party invitations, and they are breathtaking each time I see them up close. This is definitely one piece of visiting Columbia, or the MU Campus I will miss.

These iconic columns are often seen as the symbol of the University of Missouri and the surrounding city of Columbia. They make for a very pretty picture.

The Columns are easily the most photographed spot at Mizzou. They mark the remnants of Academic Hall, which burned down in 1892. Make sure to stop by if visiting Mizzou and Columbia.
