Its beautiful! A great place to go on a sunny day! Very peaceful, great for picnics or going down to the river. Before the Pandemic, they used to hold little events and concerts, not now though. Great place to go see nature or to get some exercise or fresh air.
Not a bad place to go for a walk, jog, or bike ride. The area could use a little grooming, but it is nice place to take in the scene in a relatively quiet place at the moment. This was my first time visiting this area. It wasnt bad. I didnt like that the trash cans were flowing over with garbage, but other than that, its a nice place. I also saw people swimming in the river and fishing. I dont think I am brave enough to go in the water, but I guess if you are into swimming in rivers then this is one place to go.
Nice walk, but very secluded. The best part was listening to the small waterfall on the bridge and watching the father and son fish.
I was visiting Columbia and was looking for a downtown trail. Apparently there are a variety of places to park and hit the Riverfront Park trail, but perhaps i selected the off-the-beaten-path one by accident. I parked in the lot off Gist St at around 8am on a weekday, right across the street from some newish brick townhouses. There was one other vehicle there.Upon entering the trail - which at this entrance is all footbridge, quite nicely designed - almost immediately i saw a lovely little waterfall. As i walked further, i came across a couple of people sleeping on the bridge. I didnt personally feel unsafe, but it was quite unexpected. Then as i went further i noticed some wear and tear on the footbridge, so i veered off to the right to the 4-lane road bridge crossing the massive Broad River. I used that as my trail for the morning and just skipped the footbridge on the way back.I would try Riverfront again, but will find a different place to park, or a different entrance to the trail.
Small but with a nice view. Not too much to say, sometimes the pictures does equal thousands of words. The bridge amazed me because it has some details you dont usually see on bridges. So from underneath you can see the sunset and its light on the bridge that creates a nice scenery. A nice walk a little bit out of downtown, not far at all, yet it reveals a more calm and natural side of the city.It is close to the edventure museum for kids, so it is good for a family walk.
Definitely didnt find it to be kid friendly like Google states. Beautiful sights for sure, but mostly looks to be an input for floaters on the river. There were multiple homeless people and it just looked run down and gross. 5 residential size trash cans were overflowing and disgusting. Definitely not worth going back.
Beautiful! Awesome place to walk and run. Theres a spot with Adirondack chairs and hammocks overlooking the water too.
Not a good park for kids, unless they are into homeless people, litter, and grass up to their waist. There is a 3 minute walk on a boardwalk going up to the old hydro power plant (on which the first handicapped ramp is closed about halfway, so that is as far as a wheelchair can go), and a walk thru brush and litter to get to the river. That is it. There were several homeless people, and multiple suitcases, shopping carts, and other homeless related trash on the ground. It was gross and a total waste of time.
I love the river walk I try to go every weekend
Dirty and unkempt. Sadly with homeless sleeping under the bridge. It was really sad.
Nice place to exercise; walk or run. Solo or with a friend or family. Very peaceful & relaxing.
Very peaceful little park! Good for a short walk and quick view!
Excellent access to a beautiful river. If you visit, enjoy the area. Please, remember if you pack it in, pack it out. Lets keep our natural resources clean and litter free for all to enjoy.
This park has soooo many awesome aspects to enjoy with your family, or by yourself on a personal adventure. Stroll along the river and enjoy the scenery, cast your line and see what you can hook, walk under the bridge and make your way to the Edventure museum or check out the Columbia Canal nearby to view the ongoing project to restore the damage from the floods, enjoy a picnic on one of many picnic tables of your choice throughout the park, and for those of you who really like an adventure.. heres a little secret.. there is access to one of Columbias underground tunnels here.. its well hidden in plain site, but not too difficult to find. In fact, youll probably walk right in view of the entrance and not realize it. Im going to attach some pics. If youre going to try and venture into the tunnel, make SURE to bring your knee high waterproof boots, a few flashlights (always wanna have a back up to a back up) because once youre deep in the tunnel you cant see your hand in front of your face, and as an extra precaution you could even bring paper and draw a map once youre inside just to make sure youre tracking your location because cell phone reception does not exist down there! And a little bit of advice for everyone, make sure to bring bug spray no matter what time of day, and staying hydrated is a must!
The view is wonderful and I enjoy the sounds of the river quite as they are
I love this park! Its nice and quiet.
A nice place to meditate and be at peace with natural..
Peaceful, beautiful, well maintained. Its a Blessing to be able to go there and be alone with God in a place that speaks volume of Gods creation! I love nature. Week maintained thank you
Kid friendly, grass needs to be mowed I kept looking for snakes. I walked down to the water in a AirCast and did great.

Love this place. Its probably my favorite place in Columbia. Parking can be a challenge on the weekends but you can park in the weeds down the road.
Its autumn, everything looks pretty run-down. Its not the place I want to spend my free time.
Safe and peaceful River Park to enjoy these hot summer days with your family! Free parking and close walking distance to restaurants, bars and shops. A must stop destination in the heart of Columbia!
Nice place to run when it is not busy! Nice walk with a friend or spouse! Bathroom and drinking fountain...dog friendly

It is a great place for photographers and videographers as well as a nice walk for families.

This is a great takeout for kayaking the Saluda in Columbia. The biggest issue is that parking is limited.

Nice little spot to toss a line in .

Been here a couple of times before and enjoyed my stay. However, this time I was approach by a homeless man. I had a camera, headphones and cell phone. Was a little sketched out so I got out of there.

Will be better once the walkway opens all the way. However the views of the river are amazing and relaxing. A good go to spot.
