We take our dog here all the time. Its a nice park in a nice neighborhood and you can walk around in the neighborhood too. Currently there are so many different kind of mushrooms growing in the wild which I find quite fascinating. They have a childrens area and a separate dog park too.

Basketball and tennis courts, playground equipment, green space and shade. Its a great neighborhood park.

Review №5

There was too much gravel for the dogs to run around on. It should either be grass or sand. A lot of people just leave their dogs poop lying around. They do have 2 places to get water for the dogs and there are a lot of tennis balls laying around. The only plus side to this park was that it is free and located in a nice area.

Its the only dog park that is free in the area. It needs some improvement; lots of mosquitos & sand. But because its free, people keep going and that means there is usually a few dogs there at any time. My dog is always worn out after and sleeps well for hours. If you need your dog to get out some energy, go here for free. (see pic below).

Great park, dog park and playground in the beautiful outdoors. Very family-friendly and safe. Highly recommend!

Review №9

The dog park here is open to all which is awesome for people who dont want to pay a fee. The downside to that is theres no way of knowing if the other dogs coming into thr park are properly vaccinated. The actual dog park is not anything luxurious and could definitely use a small cleanup of all the natural debris from trees in the area. As for the rest of the park, I have only seen it from a distance and it looks well maintained and is close to USC so within walking distance for most.

Ka
Review №10

Its a free dog park, but other than that it has nothing to offer. Some people have aggressive dogs and dont feel the need to watch them, others dont pickup after theirs. Its not very maintained. Honestly, just pay a membership fee at a better park. Itll be bigger, cleaner, and youll have to worry less about aggressive dogs and negligent owners.

We have taken our dogs here a few times. Not a huge fan. There is always someone not watching their dog, or the dog being aggressive to other dogs.

There is a fenced in area for dogs but its small. The bigger area that people let their dogs run in is not fenced in and leads to a street.

Like most city of Columbia parks Mrs Douglas is pretty dumpy. Broken bricks in the amphitheatre, chipped paint on the building, and well work playground equipment. But what she lacks in looks she makes up in character. Down the bottom of the hill you can look up at the cars driving by and feel like you are worlds away from the hustle and bustle of Shandon.

This was our first time at the dog park and it was great! The space was large, and all the people were from that neighborhood and were friendly. There is a water spigot and a few dog bowls for the hot days. There are a few benches and plenty of shade. Other reviews share that dogs can get under the gates. They have fixed it for now with cinder blocks which work fine, but they will have to do something more permanent in the future.

Has a dog park, playground for kids and a splash pad. There is a tree that is perfect to lean against if you are just killing time. Oh, there is a Pokemon gym there also, of you play Pokemon Go

I visited this park with my dogs this morning and it was great fun. The park is pretty good sized and has shade, water, and an assortment of toys. There is a lot of sand and not a ton of grass, but Im pretty sure my dogs didnt care one way or another (plus the park is free). Also, the other dogs (and people too) were very nice and looked after their dogs accordingly. All in all, we will definitely go back.

Speaking for the dog park, I always meet friendly people here and my dogs seem to love it, theres no grass though and the water fountains are iffy. Theres a huge gap under the second gate, so any dog could get under, they cant escape completely but its still risky. Still a decent place to bring your dog just for fun.

I and my dog visited there last Sunday morning and today. The first visit seemed alright. Ive noticed lots of young people go there with their dogs. Some bring more than one dog per person. Which was the case today. Her very large dog was very aggressive toward not only my dog but other dogs as well. I asked her to please remove her dog from the park and she tried to tell me that her dog isnt adggressive and that he is only 10 month old. Then her dog tried to bite my leg and again I asked her to remove her dog, she said her dog didnt bite. She eventually left. The park itself is not big, it has two stations for water access and two simple benches.

Ni
Review №33

Its the only free dog park in the area. Keeping that in mind, its not very well maintained, pretty muddy and only one of the two water spouts works. There are a lot of dog poop piles, and its not very big, but its well stocked with tennis balls and has a couple dug out spaces under roots for dogs who like to explore or dig. Just please pick up after your dog!

It is small. But other than that its a very nice little park. They have the bags to pick up after your dog. Plenty of toys and has water spout and bowls for water. Only park in Columbia that is free, that I know of. 4 stars for the fact that it is on a hill, not many places to sit (2 benches and a brick wall). There are 2 gates, the kne that goes into the park has a big gap between the gate and ground, and has 2 bricks trying to close it off, but smaller dogs can get under the gate.
