Clean showers and bathrooms, friendly staff. Great cell service at the campsites. $13 for non powered RV site includes a picnic table and fire ring. $26 for powered RV site, no water hookups for the powered sites. Drive to the back where the campsites are and pick one out, then take the little metal numbered hanger on the post to the office to check in. Enjoy!
We had a fun time at this park! Its nestled back in the woods hidden a bit from everything around it. Its mostly known for the ATV trails but they have a hiking trail as well that was dirt and wound its way through the hills. Excellent park overall.
This is a wonderful park for camping, motorcycle riding, dirt bike riding, bicycle riding, and fishing. Because it had been raining every day for a week before we arrived, the trails were quite muddy with thick clay that grabs your tires and sucks you in deep. We had a difficult time getting the motorcycle out but we had a fun time even though it was cold and windy too. We just picked a bad weekend to play.
While this is a beautiful area, the park is really not for me, as I visit state parks to commune with nature, and this is one of Missouris two state parks which allow ATVs. I dont want to hear the roar of those engines as they whiz past me! If you dont mind the noise, the park does have a lot to offer,, such as a campground (with a playground), and opportunities for a variety of other activities, including boating (electric motors only), canoeing, kayaking, swimming, fishing, picnicking, hiking, mountain biking, and metal detecting. The park has an interesting history, as the area was once known as Peabody Coal Companys Mark Twain Mine (1964- 1967). The company donated the land to the State in 1974, for use as a park. We really enjoyed the scenery, the noise, not so much.
Lots of small lakes for fishing and kayaking. Primitive camping and hook-ups for RVs. Mainly a place for dirt bikes and 4 wheelers. Reclaimed strip mined property. Lots of motorcycle trails, (no horses). Pretty nice park and fairly busy.
Ahhh..a lovely relaxing walk in the woods, punctuated by the sounds of nature, songs of birds, constant gunshots and the roar of dirt bikes...I hear that the kayaking experience may be ok, but I cant evaluate it. If youre into ORVs, this is probably a great park. If not, Id suggest going somewhere else.
Best trails in Missouri. Clean and affordable camping bathrooms are well kept and the trails are maintained along with hands-down best mx track in mo.
One of my favorite State Parks. One of the few State Park where you can ride ATVS. The park has quite a few trails to ride and explore. The park has a very nice shooting range with a dedicated pigeon shooting area. Also has a lake though its fairly small and the swimming beach isnt much. Things to know $5 per person to ride if youre a Missouri resident. You need a helmet and a flag on the bike. No passengers unless your bike is designed for one. Area does have a loading/unloading dock.
Theres more to do than riding off-road vehicles. Canoe ($25/day) and kayak ($15.90@2hr) rentals, mountain bike trails, swimming, and beautiful picnic sites. Stayed in early September through the week with only one other camper here. A couple off road vehicles were at the park but not heard from at camp site 16. The park attractions are a distance apart, camp sites are large, clean bathrooms and showers and an organized and helpful park office. Ive been to most Missouri state park campgrounds and this modern, well-maintained park has to be one of my favorites.
The park is nice and clean. Great campsites. Plenty of lakes.
So serene. Paddle boarding is a perfect way to take in nature.
The state takes 5 star care of the park. It’s a great resource. I give it 4 stars because sometimes idiots go out there and have no idea of gun safety. We leave then. We don’t use the lake or the 4 wheel park but it seems to be popular.
Camping spaces and bathrooms are clean and Kid friendly. We Rented a watercraft and enjoyed the water trail! Will definitely come back!
Fun family time. Camp host was awesome!
Nice place, stayed during the week so was quite, campsites, shower houses and restrooms were nice and clean. Workers were helpful and courteous.
I have been coming to finger lakes for hiking, camping, and swinging for the past 30years. This summer 2020 at the swinging beach is the cleanest and most well kept I have seen this beach in the last 6 years. Thank you to all of the people who have been working hard to keep this beautiful part of midmissouri here for us to enjoy.
Nice clean space. Our campsite was large. The receptionist was very helpful.
Beautiful facility and scenery. CLEAN restrooms and showers
A wonderful park with a great swimming beach, walking trails, ATV trails, campgrounds, and fishing spots. If you want a great weekend get away. This is the place to go.
I like the gun range and.fishing lakes. Well taken care of
Great tent sites! Perfect accomodations, friendly staff.
Such a great park. My family and some friends of ours have camped here two years in a row and we love it. The whole park is well taken care of and now they have new bathrooms/shower house in the campground that are always well kept. The atv trails arent too crazy but theres enough out of there to keep even the best of riders entertained. My family will continue to camp and ride here at least once every year.
Great place to relax on the water. Nice staff, and a clean make for a great experience.
Had a great time at the park checking out the tent camping sites and watching the people in kayaks.
We come every year. This is the first year we were disappointed. kids were not able to four-wheel on normal path due to the huge Divet’s all over every road. A few meth heads were at the bathrooms for hours called the police and Ranger they didn’t show up for two hours and just let them go. Swimming hole is always nice but getting down the hill on a four wheeler was difficult due to humongous breaks in the road. Camp host is always very helpful and friendly. Sadly, we will not be back.
Fishing was almost impossible from the shore due to weeds on land and in the water. Would also be better if there were ATV rentals. But bathrooms are nice and clean and campsites are nice too!
Nice campground with sites nicely spaced apart. Wifi was iffy and only really worked near the hosts site.Beach area was being overtaken by vegetation in the water area.
This place has a bit of everything for everyone. Trails, mx track, swimming, kayaking, paddle boards, canoes, very clean amenities, nice campground.
I grew up going to finger lakes and Rocky Fork! Theres just about anything outside you want to do here. This is a great place for camping Motocross fishing they have a firing range at Rocky Fork. And theres times when I actually go out here and do nothing more than just walk off into the woods and have some peaceful time to myself and the best part is its really not that far out of the city so I dont have to travel long distances to go out and enjoy nature without having a whole mess of people around me destroying but Im trying to enjoy!
The lake was full of algae and plants. You couldnt swim in half of the sectioned areas due to the muck. I understand that its a lake but I expected some sort of maintenance to be done.
Very beautiful. Staff was nice and helpful. We camped here in our tent, with our dog, overnight. There is a swimming area, to swim at your own risk. Water was pretty clear and we saw a lot of fish. Camping with a tent is $13/night. We ended up leaving around 1am because of storms. Park is also easy to navigate. The area we stayed in had bathrooms and 3 showers.
Not exactly for beginners but new riders can still have fun here. Also if you are looking for hills and jumps to challenge you, well they have that too.
Its a great place to ride and chill
FUN!!! took my kayak out if u want to rent kayaks, paddle boards, or canoes rent in advance on line
Really enjoyed the kayak and our first time on a paddle board.
Out on the main lake you can catch good numbers of small largemouth bass
Great camp host and clean facilities
Yeah fun for the whole family trails and a track.
Wonderful place to ride ATVs and kayak. Wish they had a few more places with restrooms though.
Lots of fish and decent kayak rentals.
Used to love riding ATVs here but havent rode Im years. All kinds of activities to do here.
Great place to go if you have an atv. Good camping spots. Wish you didnt have to get locked in at night if camping and conservation agents patrol every 10 mins...
The beach is covered in goose poop and the water is full of weeds and plants. I’d rather drive an extra hour and go to the extremely well taken care of long branch beach in Macon.
Awesome place for rest and relaxation
It was fun got to spend time with my girlfriend and 2 Children and play in the water
We loved this park, even though we didnt come for the trails! Not noisy, with spacious wooded campsites, and facilities are great. No problem with any rangers as others have noted, and the host was awesome! Will definitely be back!
Nice area without to do alone, with social distances friends or family.
Finger Lakes is awsome! Friendly staff and clean restrooms/showers. The off-road trails vary in difficulty and terrain. We came down with a group of 12 and had a blast. They also have some killer mtn bike trails, next time im definitely bringing my bike to try out the trails and that new pump track.
Small campgrounds, easy access to lake to fish off main highway. Lots of ATV and motorcycle trails.
Always a great time. Really peaceful just being able to listen to nature.
Came to the park on official business to see how it is fairing after flooding from two years ago. The park is in beautiful shape with plenty of flora and fauna to see.And as I understand it, every weekend is a camping weekend, rain, snow, or shine!
Awesome! Peaceful. Plenty to do.
Great trails for riding around on e-bike but can get a little muddy with 4 wheelers and dirtbikes sharing my trail.
Great dirt biking and camping recreation area. They take amazing care of this State Park and it is supet affordable. There is so much to do for everyone in your family. There is also a ton of riding for all skill levels and types of riding. Trails, Motocross track, and kept paths. It is good for dirt bikes, ATVs, and small side by sides.Absolutely love it here. Thank you maintenance and crew that keep this place up.
Amazing views and well maintained trails. Very affordable at only 5$ for entry. We go just about every week to ride. The motocross track is a lot of fun as well!
A very nice place to walk or ride your bike
E coli way to high to swim right now. Still cool to fish.
Great place. There is a gun range, motocross track and tons of trails and lakes for fishing and swimming with boat docks and beaches.
Wicked awesome riding every time I go.
We love camping here! Awesome trails, great camp sites, clean bathrooms and the host has always been great too!
We had a little reunion back by the motocross track. Its nice & shaded, and the bonus is fun watching riders playing on the track. However, of course that adds some noise, but it didnt matter. Its a real neat park!
Nice place to ride but the up keep on the motorcross is lacking
Visited friends from Oregon and first time here from Ohio best 5 dollars Ive ever spent to ride all day
Altho it is quiet now, Ive heard this park is a dirt bike, bike & motor cross heaven!I didnt see many reviews on the actual camp sites. There are several nice sites. A few in are upgraded sites with plenty of space.Down side is no water. The bath house it close to the better sites.Nice showers & clean bathrooms.Thats why I only gave it a 4 star because of the no water.
Nice Place to Camp. Offers $2.00 Military and Veteran Discount.
Beautiful! Well kept! Inexpensive! Will definitely stop again if were ever in the area. It was a little loud at night sue to road/airport in the area, but not enough to prevent sleep or deter abundant wildlife.
What a great place to take the family. Only 15 minutes from downtown Columbia. Kayaking, canoeing, camping, hiking, fishing. Off road trails for all sorts. Dirt bikes,4 wheelers, side by sides and mountain bikes. Bring them all. Plan to spend the day or campout for the night. Just go visit you will be impressed.
Always a great time for ALL ages! Be sure to confirm your reservation!!
Awesome campground. Very clean. Good rates. Easy to get to.
Well maintained. Gun range close by
Wonderful small lakes! Cool water and not overly crowded, which is a blessing! Had a great day with my friend Sandra. Going back again and next time we may camp. Campground is also small and most sites shaded.
Even though it a orv park. It was quiet and clean
Trails werent that great, and swimming lakes didnt seem very clean (even for a lake). The campgrounds werent the best either.
Beautiful campground nice beach lots of fishing lakes
Its a really beautiful place with a lot of trails. I climbed that one iconic hill with the rocks that look like fingers. There is limited parking. In general, its really nice. Hope this helps!
Great time.
We are having a blast! Love it.
Super nice day
Great place for kayaking! Fishing was mediocre but it was a beautiful day on the water.
It is nice clean and quite. Lot good size. Need handicap lot closer to the bathroom/shower house. And need a snack shack.
Great campsite, and we had fun paddling on the lake. However, it appears to be a hit spit for off road vehicles, and that led to a rather loud experience from about 9am till dusk. Probably wont ever come back, and definitely will never bring the wife here...
Is an alright small state park. There are several lakes but most are pretty small. We went for the ORV trails that were a bit of a letdown. They are mostly suited for dirt bikes, which is ok if you have a dirt bike but not for ATV/four wheeler owners. The riding area is rather small and many of the trails dont loop, so you find a dead end and you have to turn around and go the way you just came. Also there were no trail markers and the color coded map was printed in black on green paper so prepared to be lost and confused most of the time. They did have a motocross track which was pretty cool. Not a bad park overall just wasnt what I was looking for. Good place to dirt bike, fish, or kayak and theres a shooting range!
Spur of the moment camping trip, and glad we came here. Lots to do, nice trails, and close to town! Kayaking the lake was fun!
Great outdoor area for off road vehicles and some spots for fishing. Theres only one dog friendly trail and its pretty long (2.5 miles) and usually very muddy and steep. Would really only recommend if you want to bring a mountain bike or ORV
Super clean campground and very peaceful
Always enjoy myself when we visit.
Great campground.
Went camping here and it was amazing, great mountain biking/ hiking trails and a cool skills course. They also have kayaking and canoe rentals for the water courses. Not to mention the MASSIVE dirt bike and ATV course the loops around the whole park
We have only caught small fish. Many. sunfish, carp & 1 small mouth bass. It is good for relaxing unless it is busy with 4 wheelers. Look for hidden smaller lakes. You will have better luck there.
Site #1 hard to level. Had to change sites.
Couldnt believe a place just 20 minutes from Columbia could be so beautiful! Renting a canoe for 2 hours is just $10. The lake trails are serene and breathtaking. Our camping site was clean, quiet, and had everything we needed. The staff was very nice and helpful. Cant wait to go back!
Lakes, ATV trails, campground, quite a lot to do here.
The trails are really rough in places. And without knowing where your going from experience you have no way of knowing whats around the next corner. So for a less experienced rider it can be difecult. But if you know your skill level and find appropriate trails its a blast! I have a 10 year old and a 12 year old and finding appropriate trails by trial and error is flusterating to say the least.
Cool place for fishing.
Great place to enjoy nature
Really lovely Little lake to float around in and beat the heat. Bring flotation devices or youll be stuck at the little mouth where you can touch bottom. One noodle will float you around the entire little lake.
