A nice place to walk. I was visiting from out of town. I had sometime to kill and decided to give this place a try. I am glad that I did!

This hidden gem is a great place for people traveling with retrievers. Our Flat Coated Retriever needs exercise and loves water. We take a 25-30 leash with us and this park had great running room for a park that isnt a designated dog park. She got in some water time and was so happy. It is a tricky drive and a little hike to get there, but well worth the effort. Wear appropriate footwear for embankment if you plan to go with a water-loving dog.

Beautiful park, with well maintained walking path and easy access to the Broad River. Check it out if you have a chance. (Note, attached pictures were taken back in August.)

What a beautiful walk. Good for bikes and jogging also. Easy paths and handicap friendly. Restrooms available. You can also rent electric bicycles.

I love taking walks down here with my husband, 2 kids, and our dog. There is a nice size grassy field for the kids to run around and play in and the walking path is great for a short stroll or long bike ride. I highly recommend stopping by to get out of the house for some fresh air and sunshine.

This place has great memories for me with a friend now passed, so I may be biased. However, it feels old, full of history & stories untold also now passed. Its peaceful, especially in the middle of the night. One of the few places near Columbia to connect with nature. I always see beavers, geese, deer, river rats, and heron. Ive seen up to 4 of these in one night. Plenty of walking track available. Exercise equipment overlooking canal out beneath the open sky. :)

Great park and lots of fresh air. Beautiful pictures can be found all around here.

The pathway is well taken care of and well lit. The views of the canal on one side and the river on the other are perfect. There are flowers and Spanish moss. There are occasional benches to relax.

Beautiful area to get your walking or running on. Its beautifully kept my the employees. Plenty places to stop & rest & take in the scenery. Havent seen any alligators.

Very relaxing. The recently put chairs down near the water which is sooooo nice. A lot of space to walk and stay distant from others.

The historic Canal is well taken care of and asset to anyone that enjoys walking, running or even biking. The memorial crape myrtles add fondness and shade. The best was the statue given by many members of South Carolina government in recognition of those individuals that have struggled in life.

Such a great place! The walking/biking trail is in great shape and the grounds are beautifully maintained. We love coming here when we visit.

We enjoy the combination of history and beauty. The walkway runs between the river and the canal, with stops to rest, picnic, overlooking the water and the Columbia skyline. Pop

Best canal in town. Fully paved and pretty freaking long. Good for bikes, scooters, roller blades, roller skis, shoes. Historic info as well and a nice picnic park. A little eerie, but it is a canal.

Beautiful place to walk or ride bycicle... it was a wonderful experience... see the canal in one side and the other side see the river, was marvelous.

Nice place to walk, run or ride a bike. Even good for walking pets or just out enjoying nature. Its about 4.5 miles from one end of the park to the next. Not a lot of shade unless you dip off into the wooded part but over all good place to go to get out and enjoy the outdoors.

I go here to walk every week. I love the atmosphere, its always clean and the distance is perfect for my run/walk. Great spot!

Good walking trail and park. Not alot of shade so it can get hot, be sure to plan accordingly, especially in the summer.

Beautiful gem in the city!! Lots of room for a variety of outdoor activities! The trail is wide and paved for bikes or walking, there are hammocks and chairs for you to use and the beautiful sound of the river. Other than beverages, what else could you need?

Beautiful flowers plants and trees. I passed my pedometer goal! I enjoyed the walk and scenery! Very calming!

Gr8 walking, running bike riding path. Dog friendly. Take a pic-nic. Some chairs & places 2 spread a blanket & sun. Between the canal & the river.

We love this place. Its great for a workout - walking the full path there and back is 5 miles. There is a place at the end where you can fish. Lots of little hidden trails down by the river. Bring your dog, ride your bike, skate, have a picnic...this is a cool place to hang out.

I so enjoyed todays walk along the Columbia Canada. It was well- maintained, clean, welcoming.

Come here often to unwind and relieve stress. Very beautiful park, also good workout. I think this park is well over 6 miles front to back, you’ll get those steps in.

Had a wonderful day today exploring the park with my family. Great place for jogging and strolling. Flat paved 2.5 mile path is situated between the river and the canal. Lots of wildlife like turtles basking in the sun, deer, and plenty of waterfowl call the river home. There is an exercise station at the entrance and lots of benches scattered along the path. In the flat area next to the river rapids, you will find rocking chairs and hammocks. People were playing frisbee in the grass. Dog friendly too! History buffs will enjoy the markers and statues. Definitely worth the trip!

This park is always nice and clean and neat. I always enjoy this park. It is very family friendly and anyone of all ages can enjoy.

Riverfront park is a great place to walk or run. You have a nice view of the river and the canal. There are bathrooms and a water fountain before you cross the bridge over the canal.

Good venue that could be great if the city took better care of managing the upkeep and beauty of it. If I could give it three and a half stars I would.

My first time here today. I wish they had rails, but overall very Eerily Beautiful. Not as Beautiful as where Im from Indianapolis, Indiana the canal there is very BEAUTIFUL, they have peddle & gondola boats back home bistros etc. But this is my new home so I have to make the best of it.

I love the riverfront. I have been coming here every since they opened it up years ago. I get prettier every year. This year they cut back the trees and now you can really see the river when you walk the trails or sit and enjoy. This is my favorite go to spot during any season!!!

Great flat place to walk with marked distances. The views of the river arent as pretty as the Cayce side. Ample parking spaces, paved paths. This is where people take pictures in front of the red door on the brick building, if you take the trail to the right, cross the bridge and look down into the small amphitheatre to the left of the path.

This is such a lovely park. Photographers dream with so many perfect spots for a mini session! When you pull into the parking lot doesnt quite look like a park with the water treatment plant being there.... But look towards the left and you will find the access point.

Nice place for a walk, run, bike ride or to just chill. It does get pretty packed so I recommend visiting early in the day.

This was my first trip here and we enjoyed the WALK. We went through the old water treatment plant & walk over the bridge down the canel. They even have bicycles for rent.

Peaceful. I love to see all of the dogs and families enjoying the walk. The sunset over the river is amazing.

This is seriously a nice chill spot. Quiet and beautiful with trails that you can walk or run. There is also an exercise area with weight machines I believe.

This is my favorite park in Columbia. Its big and long and a wonderful place to walk and learn about stuff. Dont fall in.

We were amazed at this park. It was a paved trail with plenty of shade areas. It takes you along the river and passed a couple historic places. One was the old pump station. You can get to many places in the city via this trail.

Very peaceful place to go for a run, walk or bike ride. The miles are marked properly and people are very friendly and encouraging.

Could use a little more shade on these hot summer days but there are a few great sure to hide from the sun, catch a cool breeze, and enjoy the beautiful river view.

Great park for walking or running. Presently a little busy for biking.The only issues are at the southern entrance, its innaccessible for foot traffic since no sidewalks run all the way to it. While this is minor, it makes a big difference to enter and leave north of the Aflac building since sidewalks on the southern side also just... end.

Love this spot, been there before sunrise and after sundown, and felt no external fear

We were looking for somewhere to walk around after our trip to the zoo and Trader Joes and found this park. It was so nice! The fellow walkers/cyclist/runners were all very friendly. I wish Augusta had as nice of a river front!

Amazing place! If you wanna have some fresh air, this is the place you can consider. Nearby Columbia downtown, l like this place most.

Best place to take walks or bike ride. Dont go if youre afraid of dogs though lots of people walk dogs there And snakes have been seen also. Lots of turtles and birds feed off the river you have a nice view of river from the walk way. Another great thing the park rangers are always around and plenty of emergency buttons for safety

Heavily trafficked but nice walking and bike riding trail along the river and canal.

Awesome walking route to take your dogs, friends, and family. There are cool sites and things to do along the walkway including an outdoor gym which is really neat!

Went to have a family picnic. Was there for about an hour before it started raining. Still it was very nice.

A wonderful experience! Obvious what the City is doing with tax payers money. They have come a long way over the years. A variety of seating, picnic tables, playground areas. Its an athletes Oasis with the paved winding trail. I will definitely visit more often!

Clean. Lots of fun! Always many different cool little options to do. I always go with the kids and it wears them out every time. Ive been going for years and the upkeep and cleanliness has always been great. I have yet to have a bad time. Then they have things like Oktoberfest and such every now and again.

Nice walk, beautiful scenery. The water was high and moving fast due to recent rains. I wish it had been open further. We have walked it and bicycled it. There are resting places along the way, benches, Adirondack chairs, hammocks, look out stations and places to lock bicycles. We found ample parking.

Great park in scenic location. Yesterday I saw a doe crossing the river with her fawn while a heron watched.

This is a great place to walk or run during the day and it is pet friendly. The trail goes along the riverfront for about 2.5 miles to the dam. You can even take the lower path half way down the wall to get closer to the river. On Tuesdays they have a Bier garden and food trucks. Definitely a place to check out when in Columbia!
