Far exceeded my expectations for Symphony of Lights! It was really neat to drive through the pavilion and to see all the interactive displays. Loved the old school mother goose displays. It didnt take long to drive through so it was a great thing to do before going out to dinner. Definitely something to check out if you like Christmas light displays.
Excellent, another great year!! The lights were outstanding. Thanks.
I went there for a COVID test but the line already had 200 people in it and they closed early. Crazy times!
We had a blast did the frosty fun run followed by the fire and ice. It was beautiful. The Christmas carolers were a nice touch. Of course the Chrysalis stage is stunning! We roasted smores and enjoyed the hot cocoa and cider. I posted a picture of my favorite light display ;) We even met Olaf! DEFINITELY worth the trip out!
We participated in the Sound of Music Movie Sing-along, complete with costume contest and interactive booing, hissing, cheering, waving of edelweiss and other symbols, and, of course, singing along to lyrics displayed at the bottom of the screen. Altogether, a delightful evening in a comfortable, easily accessible protected outdoor venue. Highly recommend!
Love hanging out here. Wish they would have more concerts ;)
On Christmas day, I was thankful that the crew at Symphony Woods Park opened and worked late night so people like myself, my family and friends could stop staring at each other faces and pretending to have a decent conversation in an over crowded house. The Christmas Lights were nice to look at, but several of the lights were not functional. We werent able to listen to the music on the radio channel because the signal was horrible, so it was in and out in certain areas. I feel like they couldve or shouldve slowed down the amount of drivers that pass through the park at one time so people could actually enjoy the scenery and also have a place for people to park to take pictures with or without the statues, etc. Regardless it was a short 20 min drive thru, but still a nice get away.
We enjoyed driving through the lights display at the Symphony of Lights over the holidays.
One of Columbias real gems, as well as what sets it apart from other central Maryland Communities, Symphony Woods is an excellent venue for all occasions. Having attended concerts, wine and food festivals, and holiday celebrations, I can attest to the versatility of this location. It is clean and accessible, with plenty of amenities fot attendees, and the proximity to the Columbia Town Center is also a huge boon. Negatives would include the bathrooms, with are horrible, and (for some) the earthy naturr of the venue, it does get pretty muddy in the rain.
Ive been to several events here including OPUS and Wine in the Woods. Very nice event space next to Merriweather with lots of trees providing ample shade when visiting during the summer. As someone who lives within walking distance, I am very excited to see more events happen here!
Brand new skybox seats and plenty of upgrades from last year. Awesome place to watch a show!!
Always great activities here. Love that this is practically in our backyard.
Had a great time at the Capitol Jazz Fest. Great place to catch your luve bands during the summer.
The lights are amazing, and I got to drive through the seating area of the Pavilion.
Awesome lighting.
Symphony Woods Park is a cool spot to chill out. The park is right near the Columbia mall allowing you to drastically change environments from fast paced consumerism to relaxing tree shaded nature. The woods hosts all kinds of event, one of note is the wine in the woods, look it up and check it out.
My son loved it, very nice
Covid 19 tests given here
This is a great place to see a show. There were lots of places to get food and drinks. The strawberry margarita was a wonderful treat on a hot day. The pinball corner was also cool. Bring some quarters!
A really fun stage you can feel the music up close there!!!
Fantastic time, great venue for music.
Was there with job it was alot of companies there for advertising it was great
Loved the lights. It has been five years. Love driving through the stadium.
Visited the Wine in the Woods event with friends and had a great time! It is an outdoor affair... The weather was hot and humid; the admissions fee was reasonable (especially when paid in advance); great vendors were on-site; and the music was good. A great feature is that you can purchase food from vendors at the venue or bring your own food items to enjoy. Various bottles were bought from 2 vendors - and they were all delectable.
They had the ice and fire event I was really underwhelmed I felt like they could have added more for the price! I didnt feel like I got our monies worth. Wont be going back next year. I will stay with the symphony of lights during Christmas. Maybe next year ice and fire will be a little bit more worth while.
Merriweather is expanding! Great to see the new buildings and Merriweather almost being finished!
Great venue for music. Im not sure that there is Abad seat in the place, but I would avoid lawn seats.
Beautiful experience and my children loved it. We will make it out every year, and will try to visit once more before it ends.
Just attended the Fire and Ice: A winter wonderland event. Its a complete rip off. All of the larger light displays are located in the Symphony of Light portion of the park. Fire and Ice only has a small display of lighted trees. There were no live performances as advertised, just a dj playing christmas songs. Save your money ($12/person) and go to the Symphony of light drive through that only costs $20 per car.
We enjoyed Wine in the Woods at Symphony Park. Despite all the rain that made the grounds super muddy, they tried their best to cover those sections. There was still quite a bit of mud to walk through, but it didnt deter anyone from having a good time.
Saw the symphony of lights there. Its spacious amd easy to get around.
Really nice venue with really good concert seats. Single letter rows are still pretty close to the stage.
Christmas is just around the corner. Try the walk with your pets!
A very nice park i was there to see the Christmas lights Me and my friend Drove through to see all the lights through the park
Wonderful venue! Staff was VERY accomodating, FRIENDLY. Much better than Jiffy Lube Live!
First time at this venue and first time at Jazz Fest. Wall to wall people. The park staff were friendly, efficient and accomodating. And the park was clean! Including restrooms! Kudos!
Great venue getting better every year. It seems like they have increased the capacity in the decades Ive been attending. They could stand to add a few more vendors and a few more restrooms. I love that they allow outside food and a bottle of water, some shows allow chairs. Overall, my favorite outdoor concert venue in the area. Howard county Police are courteous and keep area safe outside, and merriweather staff does a great job inside. #nevermissasundayshow
This is a very nice outdoor concert venue. Visibility is generally pretty good, and the lawn is often used for picnicking before the concert. Water is available for filling bottles, but expect to pay concert prices for food/beer.
Merriweather Post used to be a lot better than what its become. All of the development has caused the area to be drastically reduced. What was known as tent city has been cut in half. It wouldnt surprise me to see them close it down entirely.
The sounds of Howard High School orchestra were met with love at this venue. The wonderful sounds and voices illuminating throughout the sound system made the experience of my granddaughter graduating that much more special.
They reay made this place into quite a venue. The chrysalis was quite impressive. Opus 1 showcased it all.
Great place to take your kids, ID the love to laid on a blanket this would be perfect. While listening to some bands or tunes.
Two stages featuring 13 artist in a lovely days of good jazz and R & B music. This was Saturday at the Capitol Jazz festival 2019
Artsy, great performances happen here.
Wine in the woods was a hit again. The weather was good, hot but good. Wines were great I had a great time.
Had a candle light visual there for love ones and it was beautiful.
We went last night and enjoyed the attraction. It was $25 for a 1 mile drive through Christmas light tour. They are doing construction in the area so they kind of stuck it in where they could. I am glad they are still having it because it was an enjoyable time. We have come for the past few years but this time was not as nice as the others.
Attended Wine is the woods. Last year I volunteered, this year I went to enjoy the festivities. Great experience both times
Incredible venue! So amazing to listen to live music in the middle of a bunch of gorgeous trees!
Merriweather is beautiful love the lawn. Bring a blanket and chair and live the music. Best venue around for summer shows
It was One Hot Summer Night with Thomas Rhett and Dustin Lynch and friends last night at Merriweather! Best concert this year! So worth the heat wave!
Great light show n fireworks.
Not a bad seat here. Great sound system.
Great venue. We were in row Z and there was ample confusion about where we sat, but it got figured out. Jason Aldean was great!
No signs to direct where to park, very cramped and can only see performers via teleprompter screen from lawn. Expensive food and drink. Ill stick to jiffy lube
Went here for the wine festival. It was great. Definitely will be going next year
Beautiful facility and enjoyed the fairy Festival.
This park is a great place nestled into a busy area. The programming that is offered is wonderful.
Went to see Gary Clark Jr parking was great concert was excellent!
Absolutely wonderful light show Id recommend it for your children
The light displays were fabulous
This year was the best lights ever!
1st time visiting . the grounds were clean overall everyone had a great time
I can smell the colorsOutside on my lawn
Went to go watch the holiday light drive thru experience. It was really nice and my children loved it. It was well lit and not too crowded. The price was a little much, but not bad overall. Make sure you tune your radio to the right channel. It would be nice if the music could be tied to where in the course you are.
Every Improvement that theyve made to this park has made his experience even more awesome than it was before
Great display lots of lights.
Went to wine in the woods and as usual I enjoyed myself and atmosphere was amazing
Its beautiful out there!
Parking is a hassle. The area gets extremely muddy. Every event we attended has had a lot of great food options. The restrooms are usually pretty clean considering the amount of people that attend events. There aren’t many seating options so bring a picnic blanket or chairs.
Awesome weekend
Great non-smoking outdoor venue; High performers and great acoustics; Professional and friendly staff provided to ensure attendees are safe and experiencing a great time.
No seating so you need to bring a lawn chair or tarp to sit on on the uneven ground. There are some trees in the sitting area to and further back you are the more peoples constant talking overrides the music. The show I went to was free, perhaps audience members are more considerate when they pay. Handicap parking requires a reservation and is close to the arena.
Well I went to Merriweather Post Pavilion unless youre called Symphony Woods then I think your place is awesome to have these wonderful concerts that know how to rock the house! Recently I went to see heart in concert with along with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and the Newbie, Ellie King. We all know that Ann and Nancy Wilson and Joan Jett are the top women in rock and roll and here comes youngin Ellie King who is bringing up the vocals almost resembling how Joan Jett sings.
Really nice ride, the kids loved!
Brilliant place truly well maintained with an unbeatable atmosphere, prepare to have a grand time.
The acoustics are great even well out on the lawn.
Excellent comfort for family who loves was called home
Incredible venue...staff lax enough to let u have a great time..however still stringent on security...the $ spent on renos...well put...again...love the venue
Huge Venue.Very Nice place
I really had a great time, I cant wait for next year
Parking sucks, parking staff are completely incompetent and will have you move several times after just telling you to park in that spot. The layout of the place is trash but other than that you will have just a horrible time at this place.
Much bigger area, would be nice if it could be nestled in a shaded area.
Saw the Christmas lights here.. my daughter loved them! It reminded me of my childhood.. My parents would always take us as children and this was one of my favorite Christmas memories. I hope to make this one of my daughters as well.
I love the light displays and the Christmas music being played while driving through the lights
So simple and free!!! How much better can it get???
Beautiful place. The one tree was telling me jokes about Bach
Nice venue! Purchasing food/drink was awkward though because you needed to include a tip to complete your purchase, which would have been fine if it were a sit-down place. Also, paying a little extra for actual seats (as opposed to lawn) was definitely worth it and HIGHLY recommended (unless you like watching performances on a screen.)
It is entirely so very much to see and and you can relax
Theyve really turned merriweather into a great concert venue. Except the outrageously drink prices!
Is ok but not Chrismassy lots of lights but the theme is lost...
Parking better and no later longer in the mudMerriweather Post Pavilion is really nice with the new renovations.
Great time with family and friends at the Capital Jazz Festival 2019!
A wonderful setting in the woods.
