Overall, I think the customer service is good and the wait isn’t usually long. However, the theater would be so much better if there were recliners and movable cup holders like the one in Laurel. I also feel like the seats should be replaced with recliners because of Covid.

Loved this movie theater. Everything was spotless. Staff is really friendly. AMC stub members have their own lines to get concessions. The arcade has a lot of games and bathrooms are well kept

Really good deals through AMC friend user club. I had a $5 credit, so 2 tickets for the matinee cost less than 10 bucks! Very clean, great popcorn (of course), and my only grope (not enough to take off a point) is the seats told back but dont recline.

Went to see an Anime with the kids called Hero Academia Heroes. It was the second movie installment of the series me and the kids kinda come to enjoy. The semi-action filled piece I believe shouldnt disappoint fans too much but some of the theatre seats seemed to be a tad bit out dated for my comfort. Not too bad though..! Definitely will do it again!

Love this spot never has an issue getting in. Reserved seating awesome. Recliners are pretty clean for the most part. The design feature is great for date night.

It’s a great theater. I’ve gone hundreds of times, But twice the seats were sticky because someone spilled a drink, I hope. For a theater, the food is priced with the average. I’d actually prefer to go to this theater to the one by me (#4). But I’d still like the option for adult beverages, which is why O go to Wheaton’s AMC

The theater is good. Leather recliners would make it better. What I cant abide is that a soda and popcorn combo is 16-17 dollars. These products are so cheap as to be virtually free. How can you improve the value proposition here? Get creative so that it doesnt feel like a giant ripoff. Or at least make your seating premium (leather recliners) so that the food costs make sense.It feels similar to a moment where someone gets thirsty at an amusement park and you find out a bottle of water is $6.Think about how you can increase your given value at the concession stand.

Central location, at the mall with lots of nearby restaurants and shopping options. And it’s an AMC, which offers lots of amenities and extras.

This theater is decent overall, but not outstanding. The staff is reasonably helpful, but some parts of the theater are kind of run down. Also, there are no reclining seats, only standard theater seats. Its conveniently located right next to the Columbia Mall as well.

So understaffed and unprepared for a holiday Monday. Many people missed their movies because they had only 2 registers open to buy tickets. Only 1 ticket kiosk was open. One person tearing tickets to enter. Lines were long everywhere. The snack line was insane. 3 registers open. The employees showed no sign of needing to move fast to get through the line. I got in the line at 11:30. I walked out with my food at 12. I didnt want to go to this theater anyway and now I remember why.

For the same $ you can be much more comfortable elsewhere. Also, if youre going to charge seven dollars for popcorn, it should be perfect. This popcorn wasnt even half decent.

Much improved by over my last visit. Reserved seating is a huge plus. Food prices are ridiculous, but nothing out of the ordinary. Theater was surprisingly clean and looked well kept. Nice to have a theater close to home.

AMC has struggled for the past few years, but this place seems to be keeping its head above water. Floor staff seems to be few and far between, but concessions is staffed appropriately. The theaters are clean and in good repair, the seats work, and I have not observed any damage/streaks on any screens. I have experienced a few dim bulbs, but these were never a long term problem. The pricing is appropriate for any movie theater. Parking is ok during weeknights, but can be a challenge on weekends. There are plenty of nearby restaurants for dinner before or after.

Theater was neat and clean. Staff was courteous. Condiment and drink area could use more frequent tidying up.

I would recommend this theater. The only reason I did not give this location a 5 star rating is that the seats dont recline. The lobby was clean. The food selection was good. The bathrooms were clean. Overall great experience.

One would think that with all the money Columbia is spending to make downtown look nice, that they would at least make the movie theater at the mall visually appealing and up to date compared to other competitors. This AMC theater looks like its still stuck in the 1990s. They dont even have recliners here. Not impressed with the service too.

Amc Columbia is a Great movie theater. The lines usually are not too bad and the reserved seating selection is nice. The food is typical, your popcorn and nachos cost more than the movie. The projector and sound quality are very good and immersive. The theater is located on the far left side of the mall entrance. Parking out front is limited but there is a garage close by.

The early morning movie on Saturday was very inexpensive and not so crowded. My mother and I saw Cats and had a wonderful time.

Bathrooms always need cleaning. Multiple toilets are out of order each time I go to the theater. Other than that this location is nice.

Went to see a movie late night so parking was not an issue. Customer service was fast and friendly. Ticket purchase was easy. There was no lines at the concession stand. The only issue I had was that the seats in Theater 8 was absolutely disgusting. The majority of the seats are stained along with the armrest. Definitely needs some TLC or replacement. Other than that my experience was a good one. If you see a movie and its in theater 8 select your seat wisely...

AMC Columbia, MD Mall theatre very dark, dingy and dirty. Bathrooms extremely disgusting. Needs an upgrade IMMEDIATELY. Concessions could definitely stand a makeover too. Food, popcorn cold and OLD! Nothing FRESH, CLEAN and, or INVITING about this maybe once AMAZING Movie Theatre. AMC Brand is becoming the PITS! Cant compare to to Regal Cinema anymore. Use to be the BEST! Cleanup, update and modernize or lower prices. Disappointed AMC Loyalty & Rewards Member.

Not true IMAX here unfortunately with old stained dirty seats. Dolby is the best thing about going here but wish the seats would recline higher. Good food and decent bathrooms. Would give 5 Stars if the seats would be cleaned and changed for IMAX because the room at least gives you loud sounds and big screen

Really wish they had the reclining seats, also a clearer definition of the VIP line for concessions. I was recently there on a Sunday and the ladies restroom was in need of some attention.

Pretty pricey but the theater is nice.. employees however dont seem to care if people are talking or on their phones during the movie... they could do their jobs and remove those people.. but they dont..Movies arent cheap; if youre going to talk during it or play on your phone or be disruptive/ignorant then stay home!!

I love amc, But AMC Columbia needs a serious Remodel. Every theater in the area is better than it at this point, even security which is just strange. Other than being a member of AMC its hard to justify going to AMC Columbia 14 instead of the Cinemark Egyptian 24 Around the same area. PLEASE UPGRADE AND REMODEL!!

Stood in the A list l line . We were overlooked by the concession workers. I had to say something in order for the worker to offer service. I did notice we were the only people of color who happened to be in the A list line. Theater was clean. Maybe a course in cultural sensitivity would help

Theatre is clean and has all the right amenities including free Wi-Fi. Does not have a bar or recliners though.

I made the mistake of going to this theater on a Saturday night. The movie theater is clearly a hang out spot for teenagers that unfortunately are rude and inconsiderate and were talking,laughing and walking in and out the entire time while the movie was playing. I have never experienced anything like it but several other people I told about this said that happens all the time! It was a zoo and Staff does not address so don’t go here if you want to enjoy the movie you paid for. I usually go to Snowden 14 which is a much, much nicer theatre and where I recommend you go.

Theatre is in great area, however its not clean. The seats are old and it needs rehabilitation. Once renovated and modernized, I will be returning. Dont waste your time or money.

Always enjoy seeing movies at this location. Seating is very nice and the service is as well. However, AMC locations do not have the online snack ordering option. Many locations in Arizona, California, New Jersey and many others provide this service. Both my wife and I have disabilities and standing in the snack line is very difficult. If the online snack ordering and pick up was available I would give AMC 5 stars.

Kinda sad to see not all the theaters are recliners yet considering thats been a big thing for others for years. Also wish there were more staff wandering since some loud teenagers tried to movie hop in the middle of our film making a ruckus

Theatre was pretty clean. There was a loud group of teens that sat behind me. The movies looked and sounded crisp. I got pizza and cinnamon pretzel sticks. The pizza tasted freshly made and pretty good. It looks more like thin cheesy bread sliced into triangles. The pretzels are pretty ordinary. They arent soft and buttery like the fresh ones from auntie anns.

Parking can be a hassle with the mall, but this is a very nice theater. Clean, friendly staff, and the concessions are high quality for a theater chain. The Dolby theater is pretty incredible and the IMAX is one of the better ones in the area.

I kid you not they use dirty equipment to clean the building. Dont have enough people to keep the place presentable and the employees are constantly on their phones!!!!! what the hell is management doing?

Excellent digital sound system with seat vibration. The seats are just super comfortable.

The movie experience was very good, and the way into the theater was very quick. Using the app was nice. However, the auditoriums werent as good. There were smelly vomit stains on the seat. Prefer Regal auditoriums.

Showtimes are earlier than in other theaters around the area and we don’t have to wait until very late at night to watch a good movie. Great movies, great location with plenty of restaurants next to it! They can do a better job cleaning the movie rooms. Some of the tickets’ staff needs to smile more and say hello, but we don’t go there for them, so we focus on the movie. They have different choices IMAX, DOLBY AND MORE! We go to many theaters and the good and the bad are the same everywhere around the theaters, so my family chooses to stay near home/local unless the showtime is an inconvenient due to our schedule.

My family and I came here because the movie was sold out at the other theaters we always visit. We drove around for 30 minutes trying to find parking. Walked inside the theater and was shocked that it still had the same old seats from years ago. Then, we tasted our food and was so disappointed. We usually schedule our movies around a meal time because everyone enjoys tasty food while watching our movie. That did not happen here. We paid over $70 for 2 adults and 2 kids in food just for it to be disgusting. Will not be coming here again.

I can’t say that my experience was bad because it wasn’t. However, the theater was very small, hot, and extremely noisy. There were people who talked the entire movie and when I went and asked someone about it they did nothing at all about the continuous chatter.I don’t know about others but we spend a lot of money on movies and you expect to have a pleasant experience and not listen to people talk the entire movie and you miss some of the movie because you can’t hear over the talking and laughing.

I loved this theater. Dolby Atmos is the best.

The theater does not have reclining seats. Its really outdated and smells like old gym socks. The popcorn was awful. I really didnt know you could mess up popcorn. For these prices, you expect a better experience.

AMC could do better and I believe they are working on it. I’m a recent subscriber to A-List and it’s such an awesome service for what you pay for, I’m really happy with it. The only problem I have is with the quality of the theater itself.Let’s start outside and work our way in: I went on.l a Tuesday night and I noticed immediately the lobby area is a little dirty and is starting to look dated. However, the staff were sweet to us (this could always change depending on who’s on staff! Lots of young staff here.). The little arcade looks like it’s from the early 2010s. I did expect more from an area like Columbia. Especially from the surrounding venues that look aesthetically pleasing and very new.The hallways and such are also looking dated as well. The carpet was a little dingy and smelly.The inside of the theater was a “digital” theater and the screen was just fine, maybe a little dark. The sound was not great at all. The speakers sound like they have been working night and day at volume 11 so whenever there’s a little bass, they sound muffled. I’m the type of person that notices that so most people may not care. I just expect theaters to be high quality cause that’s what I came for, right? :)All in all, it’s time for new seating, sound systems and even Dolby digital in ALL of the auditoriums.

Went to see maleficent it was a feat movie. Customer service could be better from the concession stand. The employees act and look like they dont want to be there

I had a wonderful experience. Especially at the front! There was a young woman with red hair who took us very quickly and was so friendly! We were greeted with nothing but smiles. The employees behind the food stand also moved very quickly to fill our order. Definitely coming back!

Seats are comfortable and I like the new reservation system. That being said theyre massively understaffed. They really need to have more than one person selling tickets in the evening, the bathrooms need better upkeep, and (minor point) the carpet has been in desperate need of replacement for years now.

Very clean, welcoming, and the bathrooms are always clean...oh and the concession stand is very well organized so that everything flows quickly.

One of their employees sat through entire movie using snap chat with the flash on. He laughed at me when I asked him to stop. I will never come here or to another AMC theater again.

Dont bother paying for the Dolby experience - the chairs are awful. I cant imagine how much they spent on these reclining abominations, but I suspect that the reason they are so uncomfortable is because they attempted to squeeze an additional row into the theaters to make more money. As a result, the chairs are too short, do not recline enough, and leave your back hurting. This is not a problem only for those of us who are 6 tall, mind you. My children, who are in the 5’2 to 58” range had the same issues as I had. AMC, you really screwed up. Next time get a clue and design the chairs for comfort, and not to maximize space. The result is just AWFUL! The Dolby screen and sound was nice though. So if you can handle a pain in the back, the theater is nice. One last thing - the popcorn was pre-filled in the bucket we purchased and it was STALE! I dont know what they are trying to do here. Optimize the experience, maybe? Unfortunately, they have gone in the wrong direction. Wont be visiting this theater again.

Saw Hobbs and Shaw! Very friendly cashier at the concession. The pop corn fresh. The theater was clean as was the restroom. Very enjoyable time.

The theater was clean and quiet, but the seats are the old cloth seats that do not recline. This theater advertises that its newly renovated but not all of it.

Only two sizes of popcorn now - and you wont find a healthy snack in the large selection but theres not a better place to see an awesome movie like Once Upon a Time ....in Hollywood. Two thumbs up!

Its conveniently located near a mall and food places but Im not too fond of getting my tickets outside. It was fairly cold yesterday. The seats arent as comfortable as other theaters but the price is several dollars cheaper.

Tonight was first experience at this theater and it was quite busy - Friday night and Holiday season. But even with those caveats it was a well below average movie theater experience. The facility is dated and feels somewhat run down. The lines for entry were long and many patrons were complaining about the delay. Most of the soda machines were malfunctioning and the auditorium seats need to be replaced, which many AMC locations have already done. Id give the experience an even lower rating but I love going to the movies and worry about losing that experience if we all become too picky. The movie -- Bombshell was fantastic...unless youre a Fox News/Trump fan. ;)

This movie theatre is attached to the Columbia mall parking lot and the inside is very up to date in some places and kinda old in others. This theatre is a great place to see premium movie formats such as Dolby or imax. The concessions are huge and alot to chose from..l would suggest getting the AMC club membership and buying tickets online because the ticket counters are sparse.

Outdated, dirty seats, teenagers on their phones during the movies, zero security, dirty bathrooms. Don’t waste your money. Go to Regal or Cinemark for a good movie experience.

It’s not right that we need too be a certain age to watch a movie that’s Rated R when half of the world is bad anyways mean while lady at the teller didn’t card me for the movie just until 5 min before movie the guy that checks tickets asks for ID Arundel Mills is better.

Decent enough theatre, but falls behind the competitors who offer large reclining seats and a more comfortable viewing experience.

This place is just okay. For some reason the popcorn here is not that good.Ive been to a number of different AMC theaters and this one is not well maintained.The IMAX theater screen has issue as do some of the other regular screens.Also, they seemed to be short staffed at the concession stand... all the time.

The movie was great! Although the service at the resection stand suck, my wife and i stood at the counter and placed an order while the girl stood behind the counter just looking at us....after we asked for a regular popcorn and soda she asked someone who just came out the theater could she help them and proceeded to take their order... after that my wife and i just walked away. I refuse to spend my money where people act as if they dont appreciate my business. I wanted to get my money back for our tickets but, my wife really wanted to see the movie... so we watched a great movie hungry and . Never again will i spend my money their as long as the employees treat the customers that way.

I saw The Art of Self Defense, a fun yet dark comedy. Although, Im not sure why I had to pick a seat in a theatre where the seats dont recline with leg rests. Whats the deal with that?

This amc is not the best especially compared to other amc’s I’ve been to. This location doesn’t have the large new reclining chairs that other amc locations have. The popcorn tastes stale first thing in the morning. I expect better for a Howard county theatre and this is not the first time that I had an unsatisfactory experience at this same theatre.

Clean local movie theatre adjacent to the Mall in Columbia. Very well maintained and clean theatre with a nice movie selection. Not too crowded for last minute movies.

Had to wait 43 min for your order. Mang states she can only have 1 cook work per shift(this was the weekend).

My wife and I went on a Friday night and we had to lap the parking lot three times to find a parking spot. The popcorn was already poured into the bag and didnt taste fresh even though it was packed and the butter station was disgusting. I had to pour all the butter on top instead of layering it. The cinema was clean and we enjoyed the movie. Id rather find another theatre next time.

Im not sure if this theater was renovated but the theater aisles are small and the seats dont recline like other AMCs. The concession staff was pleasant but there was one person preparing the food, so I was actually late for my movie (I ordered a hot dog). Overall its a nice theater but it could use a few improvements.

I enjoy the $5 movie specials offered Tuesdays. However, if you dont specifically know that certain high-tech movie features cost more, you will unexpectedly pay more!

It’s a multiplex movie theater. It is usually clean and well run. I have found the high back chairs in the IMAX theater uncomfortable for the very tall.

The location was close to home, and tickets were easily purchased online.
