One of the best places to bring small kids in Chicago. Space to run around + good learning opportunities. The staff are so great. Today the kids tried a surprisingly sweet edible plant, tasted like lemonade. So fun!
Coming from a farming town I initially didnt see the need because its always been a part of our life, but then i realized not everyone encounters these animals and learns about farming and where our food comes from. This is brilliant!! What a wonderful tool to teach about food to the table.
Of course its smelly but its its worth holding your nose for. The farm animals are so beautiful and they have huge white bunnies. Cute baby piglets and you can pet and brush the goats. Wonderful experience.
Such a cute little farm with a HUGE bunny and standard farm animals. A good place for kids. Also a really nice vegetable garden in the summer times. And Mr. Singer for the kids on Wed and Fridays.
Love to visit the goats and chickens here on my way to the lake. They are so cute.
Amazing. Kids love the place. Very educational. We even saw chicks hatching out of the eggs.
Great place to visit for kids
This place is cute. The main barn should maybe have more interactive exhibits and there should be a pony riding area if possible. But definitely good place for the kids.
Great place for kids (or kids at heart) to see farm animals up close. Ponies, goats, cows, chickens, and more are all able to be viewed from a safe distance. Theres a play area for younger kids in the main barn as well, and best of all its free!
The farm is a fun place inside the zoo. There are lots of domesticated animals to watch, like cows, goats, and chickens. The shed has cool exhibits for kids and lots of picture-taking opportunities. Theres also an organic farm and a dairy shed. Fun place for kids of all ages.
Free. Theres an edible garden you can visit certain parts of the week. Theres a bridge nearby overlooking a pond with a great view. Has bathroom too.
Great to have an urban zoo that packs so much in such little space
Sweet place for kids to experience a farm setting without having to go to the countryside. You can go brush some goats and vibe out to some baby chicks being hatched!
You can feed the cows in the morning! I really enjoyed it!
I got to see the chicks hatching and we got to see the little piglets wonderful experience for my 3 year old
A lot of free activities for little kids! The people who run the activities here are super kind! And the barn is a must on cooler months
My 2-year-old had a blast here! It was nice to have another indoor exhibit to visit while the weather is so cold.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. We saw a pig in an archaic enclosure, with no hay, no water, and in pure heat. Apparently she had just given birth, and there was a sign saying to be quiet so as to not disturb the piglets, all the while the sound of the machinery being operated was so loud that I could not even hear the person I was with. The pig looked miserable, and I cant imagine what those poor piglets were feeling. The cow we saw was stuck outside, trying to find shelter under minimal shade in 90 degree weather, incredibly lethargic. We saw a large pony inside an enclosure so small and claustrophobic that it brought tears to my eyes. The poor animal could not even look outside because the enclosure was completely fenced in, and again, the sound of the machinery must have been bothering it so much (we could not stand the sound for more than 3 minutes and had to leave - imagine what the poor animal was feeling, stuck there 24/7 without a companion and in extreme heat, with this awful noise, and in a space where it could barely move). Absolutely heartbreaking. There is nothing - nothing - educational about this. The only education here is how to mistreat animals.
Love this zoo. Even though the food and giftshop is on expensive side, its for free entry and saving wildlife so every dollar is put for good use, our precious wildlife.
The farm in the middle of the big city of Chicago. A wonderful place for all people. Families will enjoy this delightful farm as there are displays and activities for all ages. The children can pet certain animals in the petting portion part of the farm. Through our the day there are demonstrations on milking agricultural equipment and livestock breeding and raising. In just a couple of hours one can learn a great deal about agricultural sciences and how farming effects the global economy. The staff is very knowledgeable about each and every animal on display and are exceptional in answering questions from a wide range of people. The farming equipment and vehicles are impressive and one should have a greater appreciation of the amount of hard work money and education needed to succeed in agricultural business and science. The farm is well kept clean and the restrooms are sanitary which is no small task. Attend!!!!
T is the best for children and adults alike good place.
They always have activities for the kids. Love it!
I got to brush a goat. I mean, how awesome is that?? And the piglets were adorable
Great place for little ones to see and explore!
Super amazing. I love it so much i cant explain. PLEASE GO THERE THE ANINALS ARE THE BEST AND THERE IS A CAFE!!
Surprisingly better than the zoo proper. Its very educational, and you get to brush goats.
Its fun n u get to feed some of the animals,
I dont
Good enough for city-jungle kids and parents. The goat pet-line is too long sometimes and some animals are too far away to enjoy the conversation ;)
Beautiful area in Lincoln Park! Fun place to bring the kiddos. Educational and informative. Close to Lincoln Park Zoo!
Family fun all around. Great scenery.
Nice place for the kids to play and brush the goats. Small so not a lot of animals
You can feed the cow, goats. See hens and roaster. On Saturday you can go visit editable garden.
Missed seeing any fancy-feathered chickens!
Great place for kids - bathrooms, farm animals, easy in and out
Was nice to walk around, but hardly no animals and the bathroom area to change babies was dirty.
My daughter loved being close to them!
Good place to take kids and enjoy the view
VERY NICE ANIMALS ARE WELL LOOKED AFTER
I love the zoo. Great for kids and adults alike. Different animals and things to see.
Lincoln Park Zoo is always a great experience.
At least kids after there visit wont think there food comes from the store
Shocking. This place is very sad. Needs a complete overhaul. Animals looked miserable.
Walked with elementary school preschoolers to farm and kids loved it! The staff milked cows and children got to feed them also. Great environment for little ones.
They had goats to pet. Really cool and fun.
Very fun place for little kids, especially the baby chickens.
Kids get to interact and feed animals. They also have activities at earlier times.
Really cute little zoo.
Love to see the pigs
Great place for the kids and family outings.
Nice place to take the family. Thought there was a petting zoo but didnt find one. Onsite parking is about $30.00, otherwise metered parking is available if you can find.
Cute! You get to pet animals and learn about farming. The edible garden is impressive as well.
I love to come here, but I feel so terrible for the animals, the space for them is so short please expand it.
I Love Gloria Needlman!!!
Its a beautiful get away right in the heart of the city. The kids absolutely loved it, especially the farm in the zoo
The live child hatchery is so much fun
Not clean. Smilling bad. Noisy.not organizing.
Lots of fun
Our granddaughter really liked this place.
Fun for the whole family.
Nothing worry writing about.
Theyve removed the scale and weight comparison chart. Other changes are updated and very nice including a small skating rink. Still have the baby chicks!
Fun place for the kids to run around!
My children loved it
It was winter so there wasnt a lot going on. Pretty empty. Looked decent. Had an ice skating rink and you could rent skates.
It was nice good vibes
Great family fun, petting zoo, and face painting/henna available
Beautiful day for a visit. The animals and garden kept the kids enteriained for hours.
My wife grew up in Central Illinois and made fun of the idea of a farm in a zoo but this is a great way for inner city kids to experience a farm. Make sure you go into the big barn and see the newborn chicks.
We was at the garden and we went to go see a lot of animals and i get to pet the goats
My toddler loves animals
So great.
Very cool place. Its a must visit spot.
I want to pet and ride horses.
You get 2 for 1 here.
Quite fun
Great place for kids! You can pet goats and they have lots of activities and events on the summer.
Not the same as before does not give kid the farm experience anymore usually dont have animals to pet orfeed available
Just OKAY, Im not big into farm animals but my wife liked it a lot.
Take your kids or friends who grew up in the city to show them how the cow looks like unclose. If you lucky you can even feed them!
