Great spot to skate. It is an outstanding setting surrounded by the Bean and many skyscrapers. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Skating is free. Rentals are available. Lockers are also available for a buck. Unforgettable experience!

My daughters and I had so much fun here on Christmas morning. Chicago even warmed up for us, making the experience even more enjoyable. Renting skates was easy and quick at the hour we went, and the rink was not too crowded. We had such a great time.

Beautiful place to go skating ! We went here this December and we had a great time ! Although it does get really crowded and the ice is bumpy due to sooo many people. We still had a great time because of the beautiful background buildings and night lights. You need to rent skates if you dont bring your own, and many people use those skates so just fyi and lines can be long due to it being such a landmark next to the bean !

Free ice skating!! If you dont have skates, they cost $14, not bad at all. What I didnt like was the wet floor they want you to stand on IN YOUR SOCKS because you have to turn your shoes in to get skates. Wet socks in 3 degree weather is a bad combination! But, my nephew loved it, it wasnt too crowded, and we had lots of fun!!

I think a big part of the revenue for this place is to rent out skates. Ive been to ice rinks that have more comfy skates. Normally Id use wide fit but they dont have that, so I sized up and its still wasnt working out. There was pain on the sides of my foot and at the back. Material of this shoe was too rigid and the shoes lost its padding (that is assuming it had any padding in the past). My foot was in pain for the next two days after the visit. I would only recommend this place if you have your own skates or you just want to watch other peoples skate.

The overall rink is nice, and a large size. The only issue is that it is very plain, and has little inspiration. This is mostly due to the fact that the other exhibits over shine it immensely.

Ice skating here at Millennium Park is amazing for me. I have my own skates, which makes it one of the only free therapeutic things I get to do in the city all winter long. Even though Ive been coming here for many years, this was my first time coming on opening day and I was able to watch the professional skaters put on their show, as well as, I also had the pleasure of meeting Bozak(spelling?), a beautiful CPD horse, while on the ice during public skating!Ive always had anxiety about coming on opening day, however, this year I felt ready to go and Im happy I did. Being able to interact with Bozak while on the ice was extremely therapeutic and much needed at that moment in time. I guess Bozak coming to the rescue was the Universes way of letting me know I made good on my decision to go this year on opening day.

Ice skating is a nightmare. The view is what you think it is, but if youre going to commit, block off half a day and a whole lot of patience for staff who thinks they know what theyre doing and people who dont belong on skates.

All that Ive ever done at the plaza is ice skating during the winter season, but it makes a great ice rink. Skate rentals are a bit expensive, but if you plan to skate there more than a few times, buying your own pair somewhere else first is a good idea, and youll save a ton of money in the long run. The best part about the rink is that if you bring your own skates, skating is completely free! Theres a nearby cafe for hot chocolate and food, and they have rubber mats so you can walk inside with your skates on!

This place was a bit expensive for my tastes when I went there. They give you a lot of food, but I think the quality could have been better. I ordered a roast beef sandwich, it had enough roast beef but was laden with whatever sort of sauce they put on it at the time. Id give this place another chance by trying something else on the menu - but for now - 3 stars.
