This is a sweet little beach! We go early (ish), usually around 8:00am, and it is never crowded. The water is very clear right now. My friend and I just discovered Leone Beach a couple of weeks ago and will probably always go here instead of bigger, more well known Chicago beaches.

Great little beach. We were there from Noon to 3:30. It was perfect. Easy for the kids, ours ate ages 3,6, and 10. The water is shallow and there is a lifeguard on the water in a boat. Close parking and FREE BEACH, as all are In the city of Chicago. Not like Evanston, or North.

Nice area but dampened by lifeguards not allowing you to go near the water.

Went out to enjoy a new car I purchased and cruised right into this beach. Had a very good time just chilling on the bed of my truck listening to the waves of the Lake. Very peaceful night!

Awesome beach...no entry fees... Parking easily available... Bike rental stations... Serene ambiance... Walking/running/cycling tracks, kids play ground...

A beautiful place to watch the sun rise.I enjoy taking my pup out here in early morning.People will be out hooping, running, or just enjoying the weather. There is a paid parking lot, but plenty of street parking.

This is a tiny little beach just north of Loyola Beach. There are a few lifeguard stands and the lifeguard building here. This is a launch point for small row boats too. Its near a couple playgrounds, including the one at Loyola Park and Leone Park. Fun place to bring small kids as long as you keep a close eye on them near the water.

Nice place for family with kids. Great beach with affordable parking.Very nice playground.

One word....Discusting....it smelled like rotting condiments, garbage all over the parking lot, grass and sidewalk.The people walking their dogs were very friendly and people were cordial when pulled in and out of the parking spot.If you can overlook the filth and ignore the smell its one of the nicest beaches in the area

Great small park for children and their guardians to enjoy family fun. It is near the beach public transportion and gas stations. The park is clean organized well and has a police presence. Great views and very easy to see.The play ground equipment is large and exciting plenty of room for several children. There is a nice shaded area that has seating available. The drinking fountains work and provide cold drinking water. I is a relatively quiet space perfect for reading listening to music or just meditating. Attend!!!!

Beautiful beach. Guards are gone after 7 PM and easy accessible parking.

Leone Beach was great, especially on a warm August evening. I couldnt keep myself from trying out the water temp, most in Chicago hopefully know the water doesnt get warm enough til at least August and ceases being warm in early October, when temps cool down. I walked along the beach in the water and it was great.

This place was a block away from our hotel. This is a great place to go, not to crowded and the staff that works there as lifeguards are nice. The park is clean and the neighborhood and people that were there made it feel safe. Gas station and Subway right across the street would make it a perfect stop for picnic on the beach

Nothing gets better than taking the kids to the beach with two parks right there. They also have clean bathrooms and a little food hut

Great park beside the lake. there is a beautiful like of huge rocks from where you can sit and see the lake. It is very peaceful.

Today it was like a resort beach in your own back yard. Bright sun, clear blue water and great snorkeling around the piers. Lots of friendly families still there after 7pm.Ran south from Leone Beach, up past the dunes restoration area to the Farwell pier. Its about a half mile. Then, swam straight back a relaxing pace. The water was warm and clear.

I grew up using the park. And its still pretty good.

We decided we will visit all the Chicago beaches this summer. Leone Beach is the first and it is a decent area. Lots of families, some with dogs. Passersby walking and playing with their dogs in the water. This beach is very clean, but there are a lot of rocks in the sand. There is a small foodshack called Crepes on the Beach, clean bathrooms and working showers. Overall we had a good experience and would visit again.

It is a very nice place to relax and enjoy the day. Only cons: theres no bathrooms at all and all the water fountains are broken. Still it is a nice place to spend a few hours relaxing, theres always a few musicians playing relaxing music on their guitars, which is super awesome!

Great beach, crowded during the afternoon, a stand to get beverages and many ice-cream carts throughout the beach. Fun, recommend if you are to eat lunch, bring your own food ahead of time.

My favorite beach in the city. Dont tell your friends - this quiet beach is always sparsely populated, leaving plenty of room for my picnic blanket even on super hot summer days.

Clean and well kept beach! It is swept every morning in the summer by large tractors with brushes to get rid of large debris (typically around 7-9am). The beach officially opens with Lifeguard staffed from 11am-7pm. Before and after then it is Swim at your own risk. Has a great view of the sky line.The beaches are staffed all the way north to Juneway Beach and as far south as Hartigan Beach.

Took my 3 girls here they loved it. They have swings!! And the beach is a hop skip and jump away. Great family fun

Place is great just the parking meter doesnt help for people of different incomes to go and enjoy this public beach!

This is a nice park to walk around for a couple hours. You get a nice view of the lake and the Chicago skyline here. I see myself coming back here in the future at some point.

Has some things to do next to the beach hit the beach itself is very shallow and that goes the same for the water. The life guard boats float about 25 feet off the shore and wont let you go any further than that even tho the water is not up to your waist.

Parking aint cheap and machine doesnt print parking ticket sometimes. Trash almost everywhere. Other than that, its fine.

This is a great beach to hang out, sunbathe, swim, or to have a whole family get together. There are baseball fields/ soccer fields and some picnic tables, and a decent parking area.

Its right across the street from my sisters apartment,its a nice lil beach.
