I love this place, specially with the lanterns at nights and the little playground. Its so pretty
This place is pretty cool. That was my first time there taking an outdoor zumba class. I plan to go there again to further explore
Its always a nice spot to stop by and see street performers
Its a dirty place and to be honest I had a lot of expectations. Expectations that werent met. People smoking, trash everywhere...
Nice paths to walk on and see nature and the mangroves . Overall I think its a good free place for activities or get togethers.
People passed out on the playground in the middle of the afternoon on a holiday.
I always love china Town.
A fun place to check out while in Boston.
It feels like I am close to China without having to travel there during this virus pandemic.
Great place for sight seeing and walking around.
Chinatown was a nice walk through the financial district from my hotel. There were so many wonderful places to eat and bakeries to take away some for later. Everyone was super friendly. Do yourself a favor- don’t be shy about ducking into a little “hole in the wall” establishment. You’ll discover some great food, drink, and more importantly, great people.
Its lovely for a picture or for a landmark.
Perry cool but a lot of restaurants closed down
Ive visited many Chinatowns in major cities across the U.S. and they usually have some Chinese looking gate structure marking the entrance to the Chinatown area. The Boston Chinatowns gate is unique in that there is no actual vehicular traffic flowing through the gate, making the gate really easy (and safe) for tourists to take photos. The only confusing part for me is the signage around the gate. Given the tense relationship between Taiwan and China, it was weird to see both simplified and traditional Chinese banners and both set of flags hung around the gate.
Great place to explore walk and eat !
A beautiful entry to the Boston China Town, just down the street from South Station. Wonderfuly ordained with a lots of great details. The gate was offered by the Taiwanese government as a gift to the city. This only surviving China Town in New England.Inside, Chinatown itself is wonderful a huge amount of restaurants, Boba cafés, and pastry shops, all for good prices. This is real gem of the city.
Entry gate to Chinatown, fun and touristy. On the day we visited they had great free shows in front of the gate with local artists.
Great to experience this place. The kids loved it.
Its a typical Chinatown, dont feel like you are in Boston. There are a lot of local food, hot pot buffets, bakerys, hair salon, tea, juices
Pay attention to detail here
The stones in the different park installations can be called the old ones and the new ones; and can be switched by different perspectives! It really holds up the Chinatown pinhole diversity itself!
Beautiful historic entrance to Chinatown! Fortunate enough to visit on Chinese New Year of the Dog. A number of street vendors, parks, playground and tables for groups playing cards, etc.
Chinatown is a great place and has a few blocks in Boston of what feels somewhat like the American understanding of China. One of few places in the city where you can find shops, stores and restaurants open on Christmas.
People take pictures here but nothing special. Lots of elderly hang out there. You will find some people playing Chinese chess
Fun kids play area at the gate and tons of great food places!
Beautiful place and definitely worth visiting. It will probably be a little crowded, and maybe a little dirty too. But, its a nice place and I like how it looks a lot more than Chinatown in New York City. Go, enjoy it, and take beautiful pictures!
Good place to walk around and explore
Very nice
Si pretty place. Very colorful and bright. Chinese spirit covers you all.
So much to see and do. Lots of food to try too.
Signature gate in boston chinatown.must go place
The place seems full of life, all the children playing around and the elderly joined together at go matches. The architecture is modern but you can definitely catch the millennia old Chinese influence, on the downside it also doubles as the perfect hiding spot for the homeless and crack addicts on the early morning.
I wouldnt make a trip just to see the gate itself, but if you go through it into Chinatown, there are many great shops to get food and unique/culturally specific items
This is a cool area to get some great Chinese food and sit outside and enjoy your time with company. There were several older Asian men sitting outside and enjoying a game of chess. Cool little constructed park to let your kids climb and be outside.
Well this sure is a gate. Cant say that Im all that impressed but at least you know youre entering China town. A good three stars seems fair, Im sure this would be all good landmark in knowing where to go if youre in all drunken stupor after a few too many Sapporos and some nice dumplings. Either way, its a gate, doing what a gate needs to do.
Beautiful place
A classic Boston landmark in Chinatown. There are great restaurants, bakeries, and businesses on both sides around the gate and within Chinatown. The gate is generally a very lively area with people taking pictures, a play structure on the side, and some tables to sit and relax.
Look for the large pig status around the greenway.
Enjoy visiting China town and had lunch too! Love the food, it was very tasty. Also visit the bakery shop, dessert was good. People were very nice and helpful!!!
A nice place to eat outside when it is nice. Also watch the chess game and enjoy public art. Its close to the bus terminal so easy to come here and get a snack from the closest bakery and grocery store. also love the new gate Chinese restaurant. Kids love climbing on the hexagon playground.
A little taste of China. If you walk through backwards a man will give you a beautiful Jade necklace for free
Beautiful place
Never exactly postcard pretty. Good photo opportunity. The best part of this is being near all the food choices. Would visit the tea shops and gourmet China resturant.
Lots of good food
In summertime location has small cascading waterfall stream feature
Great place
Was hard to find when you are just in Chinatown
Its a gate. Its ok as far as gates go. Im not really a gate expert or enthusiast but it was fun to look at as I drove by on my way to work. If I drove down that street again I would probably look at it and say. Hey, theres that gate again which is kind of funny because as far as I know theres no actual hinges or even a door, aka gate to close or lock. Not sure how gateologists would rate it but if youre ever in the area and want to be able to tell people Hey, I drove by that gate. You know, that big gate in Chinatown without hinges or an actual gate. Yeah, that gate!... then it might be worth driving by and checking it out.
Absolutely beautiful and awesome neighborhood.
Cool place to walk through and look around. There was a taekwondo demonstration going on when I was there. There was a small market on Saturday and lots of small restaurants and food spots nearby.
Good, but much smaller compared to NYC china town .From here Can use google to walk to Boston Commons, many shops in neighbourhood .
Nice park with a water feature, playground, and a gathering place for game-playing locals
Wonderful district in Boston
China Town was great! Some of the archetecture was astounding, and right now, they have a sort of Wheres Waldo where you walk around the green leading up to Chinatown, and search for the sculptures of pigs, celebrating Year of the Pig. It is a great cultural reference point, and I would visit again.
Just common gate that symbol for Chinatown area enterance
Enjoyed my walk around. Could have been cleaner. But it was a nice day out, so it made up for it.
Nice little park in Chinatown. Must stop for eats once you pass through.
It was good
Classic landmark of Boston. Part of the city history. Packed with good Chinese restaurants. Right next to the Boston common and public garden. Walking distance to the Church of the Convenant, another Boston landmark.
Definitely you have to go.Maravilloso Lugar
Visually fun, but to the visitor, it is hard to know what are neighbor good highlights. Someone with affinity to the landmark should create an to do kiosk or other way to build a waling tour or shopping guide . I know there treasures to find.
Never been to a Chinatown before. It was a fun experience.
Such a fun, lively area! A ton of amazing food, street art, and architecture. If youre in Boston, this is a must see area.
Somehow not clean enough
I can confirm that there is indeed a gate here. Also, the playground beside it is pretty cool.
I will definitely give it a 5-star with the ROC(Taiwan) flagPeace!
Ok, its not San Francisco Chinatown but there is a substantial Chinese population that makes it authentic.
Well..it’s a gate..at the entrance of Chinatown..not much I can say about this landmark other than the fact that it’s a bit small, but still more detailed than other Chinatown “gates” I’ve seen. Right outside the gate you’ll see elderly Chinese people playing Chinese Chess and they really get into it. Definitely a neat experience if you don’t mind everyone mean mugging you while you watch.
I’ve seen better
Fun historical landmark. Very cool, glad I stopped by.
Boston Chinatown is fun! There are lots of restaurants to try, authentic Asian shops and cheap places to purchase souvenirs.
Its in process of remodeling.
Its on Boston. Very touristy. Friendly neighborhood
A great little park and scene, right in the middle of Boston
It is looking very tired these days. The local business community and city should get together and fix poor and damaged sidewalks, accumulations of rubbish and peeling paint. Then some eye candy, like hanging flower baskets and maybe some small statues or artworks.
Amazing place to take some pics!!
Years ago, Chinatown was a tourist stop. there were so many stores and street venders. it has dwindled down. there are still some good restaurants, and the bakery on the corner (right across from the gate) is great! try their moon cakes! i am in great hopes that this area will make a come back
Really cool landmark in Boston and a nice little play ground for the kids here as well.
Go there. Dont think..just go there. AMAZING.
I love the ambiance of Chinatown. Its always swarming with people with things to do!
The beginning of what feels like a different city. Enjoyed our time here.
Its a cool landmark. Go see it and Chinatown if youre in the area. I wouldnt go out of my way just to see the gate, but definitely check out Chinatown and grab something authentic to eat.
A nice place to start wandering the Bostons Asian part.
Pretty chill spot
Need to close streets and only make people move in said and there is only food not too much stufe form chaina beter make dragon mall like in Bahrain and uae
In my opinion, Chinatown Gate is the only interesting thing to see in Chinatown Boston.
Classic chinatown gate u can find in any mayor city around the globe. Needs a little maintenance.
