This is a lovely, relaxing thing to do in the Boston Public Gardens. We typically walk 10-12 miles a day exploring the city when we are in Boston so; it was a nice way to take a break. Seeing the swans and different varieties of ducks, as well as the different views of the scenic gardens was really enjoyable and Im glad we did this.
A lovely way to spend a few special moments together. My daughter and I took time out from sight seeing to enjoy this inexpensive relaxing ride. Though there was a lot of activity on the banks, the pond was peaceful and a great opportunity to see the swans and ducks a little closer. So glad we experienced it and a bonus that we didnt have to pedal.
Being a local resident from Boston I always enjoy coming here on a nice day. All the nice trees and flowers add to an amazing view of the city of Boston. Its great to have a walk with nature in the middle of a busy city. Great place to also have a picnic with the family. Also great place for pictures!
Perfect Furious Power Fist! Didnt have to upgrade it. But the Swan got killed(
A real Boston Public Gardens Treasure. We took our daughter on the Swan Boats almost as a rite of passage. So very peaceful and old fashioned serenity, in the heart of downtown Boston. Wonderful experience.
This is a great opportunity to spend a relaxing moment with your kids and take a serene break. I think it will leave you with precious memories with your family and by enjoying the great scenery of Public Garden. Even there may be lines, they move fast and you do not wait for long. The duration of the tour is just right, not too long to be boring for little kids or too short to enjoy the pond.
This is a family tradition. My mom use to take me, I took my daughters, and now my daughters and I take my grandchildren. So peaceful, relaxing. Something inexpensive to o!
Very adorable, an authentic Bostonian experience. These boats have been going on since 1877. Not the most thrilling of the rides, but for $4 you might as well experience Bostons cultural icon and have a break from running down the Freedom Trail. (They also sell some nice Swan Boat-specific souvenirs!)
Great ride especially with our three year old granddaughter who really enjoyed it. Pity it lasts for such a short time. The staff could have been a bit more friendly!
Been going here since a child and now my grandkids experienced it.
Lots of fun, great for kids, groups, and families. The boat ride is very calming and relaxing. Great tradition in Boston, must try it out, especially because its only a few bucks.
For the price ($4 adults), this is a nice, little, relaxing ride in the garden pond. Boats are propelled by operators sitting behind the swan who pedal. Pretty views, and its nice to know this franchise is and always has been family owned.
Always worth the time spent on the swan boats.
It was ok. Fun for kids.
Great fifteen minute ride with family. Price is very reasonable
This is really awesome. Specially for kids. We tried to be in the first row to see uninterrupted view of lake. It’s really cool to pass the time with family. Boats are really cool, no sound, no pollution. The tour guide was telling this theme is taken from an opera where passengers were seating in front row and drivers operates the boat from back. Behind the big swan.
Pond was frozen over, but the girls enjoyed it!
A classic piece of affordable peaceful quiet in the middle of our hustle and bustle.
Wonderful classic Boston swan boats! Dont miss going for a ride around the duck pond.
Ok short boat ride, the pond is easy enough to walk around for any views of the park so it doesnt offer anything unique.
Was bitten by a 6 foot barracuda, but otherwise great experience. The deep and menacing frog pond is home to many wild and often alarmingly violent and predatory sea creatures and fish. The company has a partnership with the aquarium, in which the aquarium’s most aggressive, dangerous, and unhinged fish are sent to live freely in the lagoon. Beware!
It was a nice ride. Very affordable. Nice employees.
Workers didnt seem too excited, but the tour was fun! Lots of ducks and swans in the water.
My grandchildren loved it. Nice to share share something I grew up doing. As beautiful as ever.
Fun and not to expensive like so many things in Boston.
Quintessential Boston. Yes, the price keeps going up, and no, you cant feed the ducks anymore, but for 15 minutes you are living in a storybook. We still go every year with our kids and its always a good decision. And dont worry- the line moves quickly.
Same as it ever was. Great way to share something from my childhood with my little ones.
Beautiful park for a family picnic the children enjoyed the swan boat ride and the staffs was very friendly
Must do if you are a tourist. Hardly no wait and its very relaxing. Views are very beautiful..
A relaxing break in the day of travel. The circle around the pond was a good amount of time for the price.
Great way to spend 10 minutes of your day. 4$ for adults. I waited less than 10 minutes on opening day in line, the ride last for about 10 minutes.
Ducklings. Little boat ride. Small price under 5 dollars per person. Enjoyable.
A must stop for anybody visit in Boston. Whether you are a romantic couple or parents with children you will love the lake and the Swan Boats.
Always love the swan boats. Its a classic Boston experience!
The swan boasts were an absolute must for us. The ride was awesome, the ducks were cute, and the two swans were am absolute surprise!
Cheap and traditional family fun. Its a slow relaxing ride around the pond in Boston Common. Affordable and the crew is very accommodating to take pictures and help you on and off the boats.
This was rediculous. You have to wait for enough people to buy tickets to fill up a boat to get a ride. It was quiet when we went so that meant we waited for a long time. I offered to pay for extra tickets and they said no. The person pedaling the boat looked annoyed the whole ride. It was maybe 6 minutes long. My son, who is 3 and loves everything, was just meh about the whole thing
The ride is so much fun! Great for all ages!
Inexpensive thing to enjoy! Worth the $4 for adults.
Nice slow boat ride. Lots of ducks
Must visit in Boston. Quick ride on a swan boat around the scenic lake surrounded by many weeping willows. Lot of birds, geese and a pair of pristine swans. (Our bus tour guide told us that after the swans were placed there they didn’t have any babies for a long time and only later it was discovered that more were females!)
Relaxing ride on the pond. Especially beautiful during the spring!
2 and 3 year old loved it !!! And it wont break the bank either!!
$4 for a ~10 minute ride around the beautiful lagoon is well worth it. The views are lovely and children are sure to enjoy the peaceful ride. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting or just tired of walking ;).
Not exactly what I was expecting but it was fun and beautiful.
$2.50 or so for kids 2-12; short sweet ride.
Inexpensive experience. Fun and quiet
Im from the West Coast I enjoyed it very relaxing
Leisurely boat ride around the lake. Takes about 20 min to complete. At first we thought you could rent boats and do it yourself, but it is powered by one person with room for about 20 per boat. Still a nice time.
It takes 5 minutes to go around a small pond... Not worth the money.
Fun, inexpensive activity on a beautiful pond in the Public Gardens, great for tourists and locals alike. The ride is short as the pond itself is small, but provides great photo ops. Nice start to a first date.
Drove into Boston just for this, says its open BUT ITS NOT! NOT HAPPY, I live very far away, probably wont be back to Boston this was very disappointing
My new boyfriend told me he had a surprise! Told me we were going on a cruise. Then took me to Swan Boats and I was NOT disappointed. I thought it was a romantic and sentimental journey.......
Very nice and relaxing with the festival music in the background
Nice boat tour, specifically with kids. But the duration is very short, compared to the price. My kids were happy doing the tour but disappointed it was over so fast. Saw turtles on the island which was wonderful.
Great place to relax
Fun, family activity. Not super exciting but enjoyable.
So cheap and so cute! The line got long since it was a beautiful day but it moves fast. Totally recommend to couples and little kiddies.
I dont know that this is a Tourist Thing - I do know that this was an incredibly relaxing 15 minutes of luxury that any stressed out person would love.My tween daughter and I did this on July 4 - there was no wait, we got right no the boat, had a seating row to ourselves. We loved it.Make sure you know to go all the way through the Boston Common park into the Victorian period Public Park to find it.This is included in the Boston Go Card and I definitely recommend the respite.
Great place to get away
Short ride but very nice.
Loved the experience. Relaxing and a beautiful memory.
So much fun and peace..
Really hot there is no shade
Great experience with nice scenery as you go around the lake. Very relaxing and beautiful. Price is pretty good, but line can sometimes be a bit long.
Daughter was excited for the swan boats. Nothing too fancy, slow ride on a pond.
Least expensive thing in Boston to do with your kids
Ok. Its cheesy. But for $4 a person and a 10 minute ride in boats that have been around since the 1800s. Super cool to do. Do not skip it!
Greatest tourist attraction in all of Boston! Great workers, great service, and a great time. Id come back just for the Swan Boats!
As a huge fan of Make Way for Ducklings as a kid, I was very excited to ride in these boats. We enjoyed the peaceful ride. Its only $3.50 per person. Definitely something you should do when visiting Boston!
On my list of must visit in Boston, especially if you have kids and have read Make Way for Ducklings. (A few hundred times.) Fun experience for the kids. The best thing is you dont need to paddle the boat. The driver does all the work. You could say that one gets to duck out of that chore.
Affordable and fun for all ages.
A beautiful place
For tourist to say weve done that. Walk around the pond for free instead.
Great expierence! Super nice and affordable. Highly recommend asking for Michael, he was great!
You just have to experience it for yourself. A must see
For $4 per person theres really no reason not to do this.
Kick back and enjoy the ride - Inexpensive fun in the park!
Cool breeze relaxed me and the family as we floated around the park
Must see
Traditional seasonal landmark
Nice place
Always a great experience. The cost is low and the views are spectaocular
Pretty cool! Our family had a great day
Lovely boat ride
A quintessential Boston experience...a must when visiting the city.
Pleasant ride during the summer. Deja vu for Fallout 4 fans! Yes its the same lake with Swan!
It was so fun... $3.50 was an economical price and it was just fun and beautiful. The ducks were very entertaining!!
Relaxing experience.
