The carousel is a bit overpriced. HOWEVER, they are doing a great job keeping it clean and safe during the pandemic. Only 5 families allowed on at a time, in between rows are blocks and workers clean each animal and pole between use.
Cheap, fun entertainment just around the corner from Fanuiel Hall Marketplace. It has beautiful views of the surrounding Green Space that was the former home of the less pleasant looking Central Artery. Encourage people to take time out of their visit to Boston to use this time to chill and enjoy the time to reflect on whats around you.
We hit up the ‘ol carousel almost every day we were in town (long weekend visit) and had a blast. Definitely buy the 10 pack of tickets and save a few bucks if your kids like to go 3-4 times a day like mine! The music and the nostalgia the spinning gives you is totally worth it. Also, it’s not nauseatingly fast spinning. It’s on the mellow side of things while maintaining the fun factor. Recommend!
Order tickets ahead top get a spot. Best during weekdays right when they open
Youve got to visit this carousel. Even if you dont like carousels -- which, I have a hard time getting my head around the idea that there are people who dont like carousels -- you will love this carousel. Yes, its new(ish); yes, the animals are fiberglass. That said; its gorgeous. The animals are native New England animals suggested by the schoolchildren of Massachusetts; and they were handmade by sculptor Jeffrey Briggs. Best yet? All of the animals can be ridden, and adults can ride, too. I visited as part of a carousel convention in the fall of 2018, and Im trying to figure out a way to go back and spend a day riding the carousel and exploring the Greenway.
What can I say? The kids love it and it features some unique and interesting local animals. However, it is quite expensive! And it so slammed on Free Fun Fridays, it’s probably worth paying to avoid the absolutely massive lines.
There are chairs out front to sit and watch the carousel. Worth viewing at day and night. The animals are all local to the area. Fun to watch!
My nieces had a good time there.
Fun for all ages! - the Carousel will bring older folks back to a time when things were simpler, and provide a fun experience for the younger generation. A great addition to the Greenway
To my utmost surprise I ran into this carousel on a day trip yesterday. I love carousels and with the gorgeous creatures represented here I was over the moon with glee! Wonderful experience! Thank you
Fascinating characters on the Carousel!
I dont know your name, but you were the attendant on Sunday afternoon. You kept hurrying the kids and parents on the ride so everyone could enjoy it before the rain started (And it started right after the ride). You kept singing, dancing and just enjoying your work. Keep on doing it, my friend. It was a joy meeting you (I was the lady in the wheelchair). If I could give you 10 stars out of 5, I would.
My son and my niece is absolutely love this carousel
It spins, its reasonably priced, fun for the kids.
Interesting place to put a carousel... the kids loved it.
My 3years old son enjoyed a lot. Happy kids makes everything ️ able
It was good with the animals being land and sea creatures. The music was great.
The first carousel experience for my 7 month old son. He loves it! And I did too!
Great Carousel! Brightly painted, waterfront themed animals: lobster, seahorse, and so on. Well maintained a very affordable. The staff is very nice.
Love this place... especially when the cookie monstah is there...
Beautiful area nto visit with family and friends.
Love this. Kids have a blast every time
The carousel was so much fun and the animals that you can ride on are amazing looking.
Fantastic carousel animals, very original carvings.
Sure, its a carousel, but Ive seen some pretty crappy ones. This ones clean, well-maintained, has cute/fun animals. Its $3 for a go and you can go with your kid for free. My daughter loves it so much, she always looks for it from the car and we HAVE to let her ride whenever were in the city because she wont stop talking about it. Recently went to Storyland, and my kid definitely did not enjoy the carousel there as much as this one.
Great carousel for the kids on the Rose Kennedy Greenway. The operator even danced along to the music while the kids went around.
Nice place to hang out with kid.
Fun time not acting out age & enjoying our spin
We were visiting Boston, because of an overnight layover on the way to California from Europe, and only had a few hours exploring downtown. Never would have expected to find a charming old-time (but brand new!) carousel right smack in the city! Very beautifully made carousel and our toddler loved his ride on the squirrel and petting the other gorgeous animals on the way out :)
Immaculately clean, from riding structures to the floor. Attentive staff. Views of the Rose Kennedy Greenway, as you enter the plaza, and as you circle around. Gentle ride for adults as well as children.
Great assortment of creatures to ride & was surprised by the non-carousel music playing.
Very unique animals are on this carousel. Take a fun ride!
Great for kids ... Entry is very nominal ...
Great place to bring kids.
Was extremely busy the day we went, but well worth the wait. Our son loved the experience. Staff was friendly but had issues with handling the crowd that day.
Weve always loved the Greenway Carousel. Its a classic! One of the best spots in the city!
Gorgeous Carousel. A favorite part of the Greenway
HORRIBLE!! IT SAID OPEN BUT IT WAS CLOSED!! TERRIBLE SERVICE!! UGHHHHHHHP.S.SEATS ARE COLDTHEY SHOULD BE WARMP.P.S.THEY LOOK COLDI NEVER SAT ON THEM
Daughter had fun
My daughter loves this and we never miss the ride whenever we are here
Great place to hang out/pass through during the summer. Kids like the carousel and there are good food options nearby. During the weekends in the summer there is usually some sort of market in the parks nearby too.
Beautiful carousel designed using animals native to Massachusetts, located at the Rose Kennedy Greenway.
Good music, speed and animal selection
Great place to take the kids
Kind of s awesome place in fantastic srea
While I dont actually use the carousel, I do however walk by it every day. It is nestled nicely in the now Rose Kennedy Greenway strip and always has kids in laughter. There is often music and food trucks located right next door and is only seconds from Quincy Market and the Boston Aquarium. Worth checking out especially if you have kids that would enjoy the ride.
My 21 month old cousin enjoyed the ride but more importantly the bubbles blowing while he waited for his turn kept him occupied and giggling! He loved riding with his big cousin! I loved the uniqueness of the animal choices. He rode a fox but I got a chuckle from the skunk since Bostonians have seen plenty of them during the construction that made the greenway possible! Would recommend highly!
Its just a great place to bring little ones and find out which new animals they like and recognize.
Its one of the most whimsical and beautiful carousels that Ive ever seen. Worth a stop for kids who love animals. Three bucks a ride.
Had fun. Not sure how to rate a carousel but no complaints on this one so 5 stars
Nice park to have a relax afternoon. Really nice views in fall with the change of colors of the trees. Sometime food trucks are around this area if nto grab some food at the shopping mall
Good fun, sometimes the same person sells tickets and operates the carousel which can result in a long wait time.
Not worth the price!
You got to love a carousel
Very nice carousel with lots of different animals. 10/10 the falcon one is the best
Great family fun affordable clean easily accessible
Very fun!
Good place for kids. 3 USD per ride.
Closed during busy holiday season. Kids want to see the big Christmas tree lit up and go on a carousel...well thats not happening.
Great local carousel. Short ride at a reasonable cost.
The ride was fun for the family
Cute carousel with lobsters and other local animals. Often a line during nice weather.
Fun little carousel/merry-go-round between Quincy Market and The North End
Awesome for kids and adults. The traditional horses have been replaced by animals from the Boston region including lobsters and a whale.
Fun for young kids. Local animals and close to the aquarium. When I went there was a lot of food trucks nearby.
Convenient meeting spot before heading to North End. Rose Kennedy Green way for local food festival events.
Fun for my kids; they always ask to come back. Costs $3 a ride.
Excellent carousel, the best one me and my two yr old daughter have tried. Great animal stations, with a New England bias, like a lobster and a whale.
Kids love this ride. Good picture moments
Beautiful carousel on Bostons Greenway and right outside of Fanieul Hall. Great location, unique carousel.
This is not your typical carousel with its interesting animal renders, its nice wooden railing around it, and neat benches for parents to rest on.
Its a big merry go round on the Greenway. Fun for all ages.
Nice Carousel featuring local animals. The ride could be a little bit longer.
Beautiful carosel and not badly priced it was a lot of fun.
Cute animal rides. $3 a ride. I think...
Terrific, affordable, accessible Carousel in the heart of Boston with proximity to Faneuil hall, the north end, the aquarium, and more
Very fun to ride with the girlfriend and cheap too :)
$3 for a 3 minutes ride. The kids love it though
Its awesome!!
3$ a ride. The lights kept us warm on a December freezing night
Cute ride and decent price
A classic merry-go-round. Its just fun.
$3, short ride, but fun for the kids.
The seats were cold and it said it was open but wasnt !!!
Very awesome!
Very nice for your kids, but short rides.
Animals are so unique
Great time for kids for all ages
Enjoyed it so much.
Pure fun, and a water view
Beautiful Carousel!
