Park was recently renovated to be more welcoming to the public. With a dog park, free putt-putt, and nature themed play-ground there is plenty to do in an afternoon. (Visit the library before for free putter and ball)

Small but a nice place to walk around. Love the dog park and the different things for kids to do including mini golf. Not sure where you get the clubs from but worth looking into.

This park is a working process.... however I was happy and surprised to see the pictures of the firefighters in Athens Tn. This is a old photo and the younger gentleman and the end of front row is my late grandfather...... Wilburn Tillman McDonald aka Hoot.

Pretty park but the dot park part gate was closed so since I cant walk far I couldnt take my dog for a walk inside. I just had to sit in my car and eat my lunch instead of enjoying what the park had to offer... that really sucked

I was at the dog portion of the park and the reason for 3 stars instead of 4 or 5 is because of the lack of water spigots. Its a great park and the people and dogs we have met have been great just make sure to bring some water!

The dog park and miniature golf area are nice even though the mini golf area seems to be falling apart some. The park is overall clean and a pretty nice place.

Took my bud Scott to the Dog Park which I was surprised Athens would even think of providing such a place. There are plenty of walking trails you can share with your pet as well as two securely fenced large lots. One for larger pets and the other flr smaller. Plenty of room to run, play and explore. I strongly suggest sharing this wonderful park with your friends.

The place is OK. It has a pavilion with picnic tables. The new mini golf course improves the parks usefulness. The park could be maintained better, and sometimes shady characters occupy the premises. But its all generally good.

They just put in a new mini golf course in addition to the playground, pavilion and small baseball field. I would give it a higher rating but the maintenance seems a bit on the slim side.

Nice more relaxed park atmosphere. Newer equipment and putt putt course. However, not the most comfortable place late evening or night. Nice shaded areas and large pavilion for family gatherings as well as a baseball field. Near a duck pond and Mayfields Ice cream if you feel like a sweet treat on a hot day.

The metal fence is an eye sore, and the location of the park is quite weird. Right across from the Mayfield factory ... Im sorry, I dont want to be rude, the park is already there so nothing anybody can do about it now I guess, aside from closing it and starting over... its just I wish Athens had a bigger budget for parks and hiking, everyone would benefit from having an area that was on par with a national forest or national park, like the Smokies. A place full of adventure that would be a tourist attraction and a treat for the locals. A place for events ... Miles and miles to explore ... Different trails away from factories, just the peace and quiet of nature that God created for us ... The people behind such a project would have to put their heart into it though, and have a pretty large budget. I think most tax payers in Athens will be happy to pay for something like that. As it stands, the parks and trails that Athens currently has are not impressive, adventurous, or anything on par with the parks and trails that Delano, Knoxville, Murfreesboro, and Nashville have. I hope because Athens is growing more and more, that the subject of parks and trails and the expansion thereof will be given more attention and consideration.
