This is another MUST SEE in Yuma!! On the weekends in winter there are demonstrations. Ever wonder how wimen stayed cool with all those clothes without AC? THEY show you!! How did they keep food safe? Alot of these questions we wondered about when watching westerns they answer. This place also relates the historical significance of Yuma to the rest of the country. Alit of people only think of Yuma 1 of two ways: either the Prison from westerns Or a place to stop before ctossing thr Califonia Desert for a meal( Dennys or MacDonalds)or gas (circle K or ARCO). YUMA is responsible for much more thsn that.

Yuma was the only place to cross the great Colorado River for over 600 miles. I you wanted to travel from the east coast to the west coast in the 1860s you needed to cross the Colorado Rive at Yuma Arizona. The Quarter Master Depot served the entire southwester United States. All supplies came to Yuma, Then they were shipped to their destination.
