Very well put together historic center. I really appreciate the rich black history on display. The tour guide was excellent.
This is a great place to experience when visiting Winter Park. The heritage center has preserved much of the history and archives related to the Black experience and contributions in historic Winter Park and the Hannibal Square district. The guides are very knowledgeable and I will continue to visit in the future.
The Hannibal Square Heritage Center is a very interesting museum that presents a timeline starting in 1858 when Winter Park was first discovered and named. This museum presents expositions that change with time. At the time of our visit, in addition to the timeline, there were two expositions: Photographs by Peter Schreyer of the African-American west Winter Park community of long term residents and beautiful paintings of black women by Andrew M. Grant. Do not leave Winter Park without dropping by.
A great place to visit, I will be watching for more exhibit in the future!
So much rich history of people of color and the enrichment of time past-present
My husband had artwork on display at this location for the urban and folk art event, it was an awesome event so glad that we were a part of it!
