Let me start by telling you. Being 50 yrs old and never been on Skis or let alone a Snowboard. I was a little apprehensive on going. Both to me and my familys surprise. We were welcomed so graciously. Our instructor Brendon was patient and easy to understand. My girls 15 & 9 wanted to learn Snowboarding for an up coming winter trip out west. We did the package deal that they had. I am so glad we did. The girls after a few classes had it down and just spent the rest of the classes perfecting their technique. It took a little longer for me to get the technique. Along with Brendons patience and experience guiding me and a private lesson. I accomplished my goal. We will be boarding down the blue runs in no time at all. I would like to thank Brendon for listening and adjusting to my needs. If you are looking to learn or practice techniques. I highly recommend WinterClub. Plus you will save so much money compared to learning at the slopes.
What an amazing place to work on skiing techniques. The instructor and staff are amazing. For certain its more of a sports club than a business.Learned so much skiing here that made skiing in Colorado so much more fun enjoyable. The pricing is very reasonable and definite worth it to learn to ski here so you can enjoy a ski vacation to its fullest.!
Great personalized instruction for all levels. Easy-going and knowledgeable instructors who really make it fun and relaxing to learn and improve. I recommend this to beginners and advanced riders. I’ll definitely be back!
Awesome place to learn. Brendan and Matt were great teachers. I recommend this to riders of all levels. Ill be back for sure!
Being a person that lives in Montana, this places is ridiculously awesome! You cant go wrong! You get to put your board/skis on and have some fun. They go out of the way to make it as cool and fun as possible.
I cant say enough good things about this place. I live in Jacksonville and I always take my family here for a tune-up lesson before we go out West.
FANTASTIC place to learn. I just got back from snowboarding in Colorado and had a great time, never snowboarded before in my life. A week and a half before going I had 3 lessons at WinterClub, made all the difference in the world. I was able to do a bunny slope a couple times then hit the beginners slopes without a lesson in Colorado. My g/f who has snowboarded before had one lesson at WClub as a refresher and she said she was so glad she did because she didnt need time to refresh herself once on the slopes and it made it so much easier to get back into the feel of snowboarding since it had been a year since she was on the slopes. I recommend this place very highly. Staff is great, great overall experience.
Great first time experience. Brendon was great!
Fantastic teachers and well worth the money! Learned more here then the ski lessons Ive taken on actual snow. The concepts translate very well to the real thing. Was able to enjoy the mountain on my recent trip.Would recommend to go any time you have a trip coming up or to just learn so you go to the mountains knowing the basics.
Fantastic place to practice before your ski trip. Teacher was very attentive and patient. Great idea and great place to go. Kids loved it too.
Took my teenager as a surprise so he could learn to snowboard. He knows how to ski but has not tried snowboarding. Loved it! The instructors were incredible. They teach you all the basics step by step so by the end of the lesson you can do it on your own. We will certainly go back right before our next snow trip up north for a refresher. Very clean and super organized. First class motivation from a very passionate instructor.
Great place to learn or get a quick refresher before heading to the mountain. Facilities and equipment are excellent. Bri is a fabulous instructor who made it easy and fun. Definitely recommend.
Edit for response to reply: I was told the same thing over the phone - that they had up to size 15. However, when I got there I was told that was only for ski boots and the biggest size they had for snowboard boots was size 12. Notice how the reply says boots and skis. Its almost as if they didnt even read my review that specifically talks about my snowboarding.——————————————————Original review:Ended up costing us $80 more than we had planned as you must do a private lesson if you dont bring your own group and since we were snowboarding and skiing, each counted as a private lesson. The boots they had did not fit me well as they only carry up to a size 12. The snowboard bindings are not set up and personalized for you, rather they are set up in a neutral position for anyone to ride, regardless of size or style... Im torn between giving 2 or 3 stars, so Ill be more generous with the official 3... its more like a 2.5.Also, especially given the price, I would have rather had an older instructor, more experienced in teaching...It was okay for an introduction to the sport while living in Florida...but we wont be back...
Amazing experience! David was great, very knowledgeable and patient. His teaching skills were wonderful! Have never been skiing and left after my first lesson feeling very confident.
Fantastic! Very realistic and excellent practice for the off session. Split family with skiers & snowboarder and they were very helpful. Super instructors(Derrick & Austin) that truly care and are very knowledgeable! They take pride in their jobs and we were all super pleased with their service. They both worked hard to improve our skills and pushed us to excel. They were a blast to take a lesson with. Were hooked!
This place was awesome! For basically the price of gear rental on the slopes, you get gear and a full hour of instruction. Good luck getting that price on the mountain! The facility was clean and well maintained. The instructors were polite and really knew how to relay the information to get you to feel comfortable on the snowboard.Im very excited for my next lesson!
I am a mildly experienced snowboarder at a beginner level, and I’m in my 30s. I’ve snowboarded 8 trips in my life. I’m just finishing a trip to Denver area to ski for the first time with some friends. I decided to give skiing a shot since the rest of the group I was with was skiers. At WinterClub I had 3 private lessons within the two weeks leading up to my trip. Each lesson was with a different instructor, who had a different methodology it seemed. If you choose to get lessons here I suggest asking for the same instructor to stay consistent. All instructors were good, but the last one I had was great! Very methodical in his approach! It was really helpful to have the instructors coach me on proper fitting boots and how skis and poles are sized. At the rental place in Colorado I was able to know what it should feel like and I actually was able to adjust from what the rental shop wanted to give me.My first day skiing ever:I did 3 runs down the bunny hill, then 3 runs down the greens, then straight to the blues! I was able to hang with the experienced skiers in my group. I hit up a small section of black a half dozen times. WinterClub was a great way to prep for my first time skiing ever! If your legs are in “skiing shape” and you’re in mildly good cardiovascular shape I suspect you would have a similar experience to what I had.Next step, I’m bringing my 5 year old son in to prep for his first trip skiing next season!
I took three skiing lessons with different instructors. It’s amazing how quickly you will pick up skiing. I feel more confident now before hitting the slopes out west. David and Austin were patient and knowledgeable the entire time. You will learn the fundamentals of skiing. I highly recommend Winter Club Ski to everyone!
I’ve never skiied before. I’ve had 2 lessons and feel confident to go skiing in the mountains in a week. My instructor, Derick, helped me relax and learn the proper form at the same time. I will definitely go back again before my trip. Highly recommend!
Words cannot describe my love for this place. If you want to go to the mountain and have an amazing experience start here first. Our children are 3 and 4 and we took 6 lessons and then put them on the mountain in Tahoe and they killed it!!! Skiing blues on day one. On a lift and all!! Thank you David and your entire team!! We will be back for more love!!! P.S... we got 51 inches of snow tooooo
I have taken 3 private lessons at WinterClub on the indoor ski simulator - 2 lessons before and 1 lesson after skiing in Colorado. For a beginner, the simulator is excellent. You should be able to master the basic technique for stopping and turning (even parallel) on the simulator which will save you a lot of time and money on the mountain. For an upper intermediate to advanced skier, I am not convinced the simulator is beneficial because it is too narrow to make nice round carving turns and it relies heavily on friction - something youll be trying to avoid as you advance. My last lesson at WinterClub fell directly between two trips to a ski school in Colorado. I cant say that the lesson was beneficial. I picked up some bad habits with unloading my inside ski too late and relying too much on my edges and skidding to turn (as opposed to sliding on flat skis). The narrow width of the simulator and the laws of gravity/friction do not lend themselves toward more advanced turning technique. My advise is to use the simulator if you are new to skiing, but to also recognize that youll need some additional skills that the simulator cannot teach in order to ski more difficult blue and black trails. (Specifically: side-slipping, carving, and proper opening/closing of the ankle joint for moguls)
Was really impressed with how similar it feels to real skiing. Instructors are all helpful, friendly, and laid back. Very easy learning environment - well be back!
Such a smart investment... my wife, 4 yr old, 6 yr old and I took a handful of lessons before a family ski trip. We were able to actually enjoy the time on the mountain and felt really comfortable on the skiis. Freshened up this year before heading west as well... worth every minute!
We had a great time here. Very fun, informative, and our instructor, Brandon was very kind, knowledgeable in snowboarding and in teaching in a respectful and encouraging manner. 5 stars all day!
If I can, I will give 10 stars to Winter Club. With no knowledge of skiing my daughter and grandson took one lesson and both like it very much. Then my 7 year old grandson, that is under the spectrum, took skiing lessons three hours a day for a week with great results. The instructors are kind, have lots of patience and very knowledgeable. Definitely we are going back for more lessons.
Prices were higher here than the other rental stores that were around. The main reason we went somewhere else is the guy that was helping us out just didnt really seem to like that we didnt know what we were talking about. He seemed he didnt want to be there.
We love this place, the owners are awesome and the instructors are fun to work with. Our son loves it, he learned skying in their summer camp and enjoyed it a lot, specially with gelato after class. Next step snowboarding. The venue is also great for events and parties.
This place is awesome!! Everyone is super nice, from the guy getting you fitted for helmets and boots to your instructor. Theyre super attentive and you can tell that theyre genuinely interested in helping you ski better. I was a completely virgin skier and I didnt even fall once. They work in 10-min increments over the course of about an hour (3 10-min ski sessions with 2 10-min breaks between) and theyre constantly teaching throughout the hour. Ski or snowboard, youre going to learn AND have fun!
Thanks Austin for helping me to learn how to snowboard and ski while having fun!
My boyfriend booked a private ski lesson for the both of us at WinterClub Indoor Ski and we loved it. The staff was welcoming and the instructors were very patient and helpful. So glad we did this before flying out to Colorado next month. Really considering going back for their snowboarding lessons. Truly a hidden gem in Winter Park. :)
This place is a gem in the Orlando area. The instructors are knowledgeable and friendly and their 10 x 10 x 3 method is really great. I went in preparation for a snowboarding trip and feel its money well spent.
So, Ive taken one private lesson and one couples lesson with my wife. I plan to take two more before our trip. We are both first time skiers and have no real experience. Were leaving for Park City in a few weeks and I will follow up on this review after seeing what real skiing is like and if the skills translate. So far Im very happy with the experience. My wife fought me on this but agrees that the lesson was worth it and more would help. We are driving over 2 hours from Jacksonville so its a big investment in time. The lessons are set up to provide you with 10 minutes of instruction and 10 minutes of rest alternating for an hour. Lessons take place on a large ~20x30 or so inclined treadmill where the instructor controls the speed and incline with a remote. Theres a hand bar the runs across the area at the bottom to grab on to and support yourself when needed. You start of with some basic balance drill and then learn the wedge or snowplow. As lessons progress you learn to turn in the wedge and then to get more aggressive, eventually stepping to parallel and then skiing parallel. The instructors Ive had have been great. Seeing yourself in the giant mirror and having the instructor right in front of you or on the slope with is amazingly helpful. I had a hard time just moving side to side at first but by the end of the second lesson I can make some aggressive turns in the wedge stepping to parallel. Just getting comfortable with the boots and skis would be worth it.Ill update after the next two lessons and after the trip.
Before my recent ski trip, I had never skied in my life. Not wanting to ruin my trip falling the whole time, I went here with a couple friends and we took 2-3 lessons. When we got to Sugar Mountain in NC I was comfortable going down the Blue Square trails and had a blast! I knew what my stance should be while skiing, how to turn, how to stop, how to slow down - the basics of what is needed to go down the slope and have a good time. I had much more fun than expected and if it werent for WinterClub Indoor ski I think my experience would have been the opposite when I went down a real mountain.
My boys took a snowboard lesson and we will definitely be back. Everything about the place is great. The instructors are enthusiastic and patient. The equipment is top notch. The entire experience was awesome!
Hosted a work party (over 100 guests). Winter Clubs event managers worked with us to make sure we threw the best event possible! Everything from the venue space (indoor and outdoor), to the catering (food and liquor)....it was perfect. Everyone on the Winter Club staff was professional and courteous. Our workplace will start doing events here, for sure.
From the person who takes your appointment to the instructors, this place is amazing. Hands down me and my gf are going again. Chase was our instructor and he was fantastic. Easy going, fun, and laidback, he knew what he was doing with no hesitation. It felt very realistic but in a great inviroment to learn and perfect the skills you are taught.
What a great place- website does not give you a good feel for the experience. My 5 year old got great ski lessons in a controlled environment from Bubba and we plan to bring her back several times before we go skiing. I rode snowboard slope with great tips from Dave, mirrors let me see flaws with my technique that would be impossible to see on the slopes. If you do not ski or board often be sure to brush up here before you leave-
I had never touched a snowboard before visiting the WinterClub, but I had an awesome time taking a semi-private class alongside my boyfriend who is a seasoned snowboarder. We were able to work at our own skill levels on the same slope. Both David and Bubba were great teachers! I was impressed at how fast I was able to learn the basics with their instruction. My boyfriend agrees that WinterClub is a much less frustrating and safer place to learn than the outdoor slopes... but it translates directly to the real thing. I have my first snowboarding trip in a few months and I will definitely be back several times before then!
This place is a truly amazing experience for a native Floridian. The people here are great and work well with any skill level (including zero). We didnt have to bring any equipment, though they gave us the option. Weather on the slopes was comfortable in any attire, although you can get a little wet if you fall. Spectating is just as much fun as participating and even more so at times. I cant believe how much fun we had.
I absolutely love this place! I have most definitely increased my skiing skill level and endurance. I live in FL and went to Colorado to ski with 6 lessons under my belt from Winter Club and felt extremely prepared and skied 3 days in a row skiing some green, but mainly blue slopes in Keystone and wasnt even sore! The lessons I took prior really work on your form and confidence. I was very prepared and didnt have any adjustment time or learning curve. I had instructors: Bubba, Gordon, David and Amanda, and all were fantastic and I learned new things and made adjustments from each lesson with each instructor. Everyone there is extremely friendly and helpful. The skis and boots are the same types of equipment used to ski on the mountain in snow. It is a great place to get in shape prior to your ski trip and learn to hone your skills and elevate your confidence. The carpet is a bit more difficult to ski parallel until you get use to it, but it really helps you modify your technique to cheat less and be very efficient an technical. Its the best thing ever for beginners too! My boyfriend had only skied two days many years ago prior to our vacation, but with 7 lessons at Winter Club and into the parallel ski position and by the 3rd full day on the slopes in Colorado, he was able to take on all blue level runs. I know we are both extremely satisfied and will go to the Winter Club not only to have fun, but to maintain our skiing skills throughout the year and prepare for more upcoming trips!
This Review is strictly on the venue when it’s used for Weddings. The Venue doesn’t seem to have a name separate from it’s Ski business & given my experience it’s important for anyone considering this as their wedding venue to have an idea of how they’ve done with weddings in the past. It’s esthetic is up to par. They have a beautiful outside area with lights, a fountain, & a garden feel. They included a wedding arch which was lovely & had real flowers. The inside reception area is also lovely & has hanging lights/ a chandelier. Unfortunately the fountain outside was not cleaned for the wedding day (we were told it would be) so the water was a really gross green. We started off with a lovely wedding coordinator named Alexa. 3months in Alexa reached out that she would no longer be with the winter club but assured us we were in good hands. The new wedding coordinator was Deb & she was SUPER unorganized. Which just ended up being a constant with this venue from here on out. I kept trying to push to get things organized/picked out But I would get responses that it was still too early to be picking things like the table linens, chargers, center peices. We were very much so forced to run on her time. She would take weeks to reply to a message. After about 2months &then complaining to the owner (Michelle) we were told Deb had a family emergency &had to leave. We would be working with someone else. The 3rd wedding coordinator was named Mary very nice & patient girl. However it seemed the owner & her were handling the event together but did not communicate to each other. Mary would email us about bar options & then we would be asked about them again two times from Michelle. I was constantly having to go over things with each party seperatly which is clearly not something that would put the bride at ease. When we booked the venue we chose it because it had packages that included things like the table linens, center pieces, chargers, mr. & mrs. signs, table numbers, etc. At some point after we signed our contract they decided to no longer offer those packages. We were assured we would still have all the items because it was in our contract. They refuse to let you in more than 2hours prior to the event which makes it super inconvenient for vendors & the set up of the event. Mind you the ski place is in another part not connected to the reception. I was told the cake team were treated VERY rudely. Boxes for the event were left the night before at the venue &labeled accordingly. However when the cake company asked where the event items were they were told they had no idea. I was called as I was getting ready for my big day and had to tell them it was with the rest of the event boxes labeled “Cake table.” I was then also informed that the venue refused to sign for the cake delivery. So I would have to go &sign. I then rushed to the venue. By the time I got there my photographer signed for the cake. The venue didn’t have the table numbers & Michelle decided to then send someone to go get some. They were so unorganized I was literally setting up my reception hall because I was worried the communication between Michelle and everyone helping me set up would leave things looking subpar or worse. My tables ended up not being in the correct spots & the way they were lined up looked sloppy. It was disappointing/stressful.The end of the night we were SUPER rushed out. No consideration for us double checking that all our things were gathered etc. we also found out that someone apart of the venue team threw away all 12 of the plastic pillar tubes that were inside of our wedding cake and that needed to be returned to our cake company or we could lose our deposit. Which when we asked them about them they said they had never seen them but the caterer specifically washed them & set them next to the cake stand. All in all I say the beauty of the venue/convenience of being able to have the ceremony &reception in one, is not worth the stress or the price! We paid them well near $11,000 & they did not meet the expectations that come with that price tag.
I signed up for a semi private beginners class, just me and my friend, the infinite slope is like going opposite direction of an inclined treadmill and you are on that from the very beginning of the class with no poles. According to the instructor that was the lowest level of inclination the slope could go, arguing that it is exactly like in the mountains. I am sorry, but I lived in Colorado and on beginners classes the instructors do not greet you, make you get on the skis and throw you downhill. On top of it, it is a 30 minute class with three 10 minute breaks in between, in which he was alternating instructing another person with no chance to practice more instead of taking the break. I was just discouraged after the first 10 minutes. In theory, it was a great idea, in the end, in my case, I just have to pay the price and do it the right way in the mountains
Took my 6, 7, and 8 year old here for the first time at the same time. Training coach was awesome and patient with my nonexperienced kids. Kids had a great time and wanted to spend even more time there. At first I thought the price was steep. But after the experience I believe it was more than reasonable.
Such a cool place! Everyone we met were nice, helpful, and motivating. Its tough action for sure but worth it!
Facilities were clean. Staff were welcoming and patient. We had the BEST time! Half the family snow boarded and half of us went skiing.
I went here for a business networking event. The staff were extremely friendly. Would love to photograph a wedding here.
Awsome place for kids to have skii experience and lots of fun !!!Great place and great instructors !!
My son took a semi private lesson with Bubba. He loved it so much we signed him up for their summer camp. Coaches are very encouraging and skilled.
The place is good. Highly recommended to everyone
This was one of the coolest experiences ever very fun just like the real thing Im gonna go more often maybe even to a real mountain once Im fully trained
Learning so much and improving my technique at a more affordable rate than learning on the mountain!
Super fun, great crew and a most try when youre in Orlando!
I had a blast and Dave knows what he is doing. I have done two snowboard sessions and I do plan on going back
Kind of a neat idea but there prices are a bit high for what it is.
We love to ski there.
Went here for snowboarding lessons before we take on the mountains. My husband & I had Gordon as our instructor and let me tell you, not only did we have a blast, but we cant wait to go back.
