Great historic grain mill. Incredibly satisfying to hear and feel the massive wheel still turn and think about how it must have felt to see, not just that, but all the belts, wheels, and augers move decades ago. Impressive to think that men built this without the help of construction vehicles.

Such an unique experience and friendly staff who are willing answer any question. The water wheel still runs and many old time pieces are on display. There is a video that goes over the history of the mill. Be ready to climb stairs as there are many levels in this historic place. Parking is also limited. Be sure to take the short walk to see the dam and the little waterfall.

If you’re just passing through and have a little extra time, this place is so nice to stop into. So much history in this little tiny mill. There is a video to watch about all the things that have happened here in the years that it’s been open and you can tour through to see everything for yourself too.

Fascinating working water wheel. Lots of steep stairs though for every level, something to keep in mind for anyone who is not prepared for a stair workout. Beautiful setting. Affordable admission. Interesting piece of history.

Neat place we stumbled on while visiting my nephew in Minnesota. History of the old flour mill and how they powered it with the water wheel. Beautiful scenery! I highly recommend for the ones who love history or even taking a few great pictures.

Historic feed and floor mill near Winona. All the equipment is still there and the water wheel works. The mill supplied 100 barrels a day to the UNION ARMY during the civil war.Great piece of Minnesota history.

Ill admit I am not that into mills & when my daughter said she wanted to watch the 20 minute video I was not excited. It was, however, very informative, & made more sense of the objects displayed on the many floors of the mill. Tour is all self-guided. I mostly just enjoy the water wheel and the dam & beautiful creek out front. Personal taste.

What a gem hidden not far off the road along the MS River in SE MN. The mill is 160+ years old and houses a fabulous museum as well as a working interior. 22 water wheel was rebuilt, along with much of the wooden interior, but they have all the working parts...working and many more period items on display. Well worth the short side trip and $5 donation. The volunteer when we visited, Vic, was full of info and very helpful. 15 minute video too.

Eh. 6 floors of dusty rooms and old stuff. No tour or explanations just a video played in front of a few metal chairs. Realistically we coul have paid, walked to the back deck to see the huge water wheel in motion and left.
