Amazing overlook of the city of Winona. A great place to go and have your father in law talk about the old times growing up there. Its easy to see different areas and get a good look at the town.Plus there is a cool path of stairs for the average person. If you get winded fast though dont try the path as it is much longer than anticipated... we tapped out half way and realized now we had to climb back up. That was a fun time.

Super views. Parking is ample and fairly close to the overlook. A manageable walk for an aged relative. The views up and down the Mississippi River valley are amazing and Winona, the island city, spreads out below.

This location in Maps will put you at the bottom of the trail to the overlook. Theres no parking here. You can easily *walk to it from the MRT, but the trail is not bikable no matter how fat your bike is. From this spot, it starts out very narrow and uneven with roots aplenty, and soon becomes steep, aging steps. It is a wonderful hike.

Pretty overlook. Path to bottom leads to bottom of the hill and someones yard. Not worth the hike up and down unless just want a hike. Recommend driving over to Sugatloaf and hiking up instead

Absolutely gorgeous view of Winona. Easy to find, and drive too.Side trails are fun, but steep inclines. Not for the out of shape.

The park has great views. If you drive in your car you go through a neighborhood to get to it. The hiking path isnt well maintained and its difficult to figure out where you park if you want to hike up. Park near the intersection of Lakeview and Garvin Heights to take the path. Its a nice hike but the stairs are not maintained and there are areas that are slippery even when its not wet. Entire hike going up took us 13 minutes with a short rest to catch our breath. Hike down was actually harder and took longer because of the steepness and poorly maintained steps. I would consider this trail to be a short but fairly strenuous hike.

One of the highlights of our trip! Very easy to get to and beautiful scenery.

A short drive up a windy, steep road and Voila! - youve got yourself a spectacular view of Winona! Park the car and walk one minute to the spacious overlook perch. Or get a little adventurous and find a nearby trail to enjoy some other scenic vistas and wooded beauty. (As the photos posted will make obvious, I visited in Fall on a gem of a weekend.)

Beautiful Scenic place to visit. The google maps is little confusing in reaching the park. Need to follow the sign board showing uphill park.

Youd be hard pressed not to find at least one other group of people out here, whether on the official look out or on the trail leading out to the edge of the bluff. Its a nice little hike with good views of Winona, stretching very far up the river in both directions.

This place is one of the best locations to get a bird eye view of Winona. Kids friendly as long as they are supervised at all times, because this is on top the bluff with all types of nature, plants, falls.

Beautiful lookout point! There is a very steep set of steps that go all the way down the bluff and on to the road below.

The path is a great exercise for the more serious type and for us walkers. Although there are some tricky bits on the path, so always watch your footing. Its fun to see the goats eating areas of the woods as part of an effort to rid the area of invasive plants. The view is beautiful! And should definitely be seen if youre making your way through Winona.

You can see for 20 miles on a clear day. Excellent views of the lake and Mississippi river as well as city of Winona. Many people exercising and hiking up here as well. Truly stunning.

A little hidden beauty in the middle of suburbia. A couple lookout points that looks vastly the town of Winona. I am sure the trees leaves would be beautiful to see from up here. If you are feeling like hiking there is a trail you can take to see part of the hillside. Be careful as it is very steep.

Fantastic view of Winona, Mississippi River and the bluffs.

Garvin Heights is a must see for the Winona area! You can either drive up there and see the lookout, or you can hike up from a below trail that leads up a trail and a long set of stairs. It takes about 20 minutes to hike up one way.

A complete view of the whole Winona area and the Mississippi River. People also love to climb the sugar loaf of hike around the area.

It is a wonderful place to take in the beauty of Winona.

Very nice scenic overlook of the Mississippi River!

If I have visitors to the Winona area, this is the first place I would think to take them. By far the best view in the Winona area. Its free and fun for all ages. If you want the best pictures, take a left at the main viewing area and follow the small trail down and around the corner. Although its not as safe as the main viewing area, as long as youre not stupid, its an awesome place for pictures.

Beautiful views can be had by taking some time to come up to the park. The signs arent that obvious how to get here but just go up the hill and then theres a sign that says take a left. Easy to find on Google Maps and totally worth it to see Winona from 500 feet up.
