Great home made mead. Very kind and helpful staff. Really reasonable prices for mead flights. Great atmosphere and ample parking. Neat decor and local merchandise. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

My husband is a big fan of mead and honey, so this was right up his ally. We enjoyed sampling the honey and mead. A tasting for 4 people was $20. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a nice time.

Excellent clean and socially distanced experience! Very affordable for the tasting at $10 a person, and you get a honey tasting with lots of different honey, as well as a mead tasting with almost every mead that they offer. I have never tasted so many varieties of mead! We left after purchasing a case of several different varieties that we will give it away for the holidays, Thanksgiving, Etc. 10/10, would recommend!

My husband and I stopped by on Sunday. We didnt get a chance to do a sit-down tasting, but we sampled a few flavors of mead, and bought a few. It was very good! And the woman helping us was very helpful and friendly. We hope to go back and do a real tasting. The honey and whipped honey sounded good too. Only drawback so far is that the process are a bit steep compared to other meads weve enjoyed.

I was brought here as a gift from my wife and had no idea what “Mead” was or tasted like? But after the wealth of knowledge from the owners/staff during the tasting I am now a fan!! The tasting is a must because not only do you get to sample the Mead, but all the different types of honey too. Travel tip: It was a lil hard to located the Silver Hand at 1st due to it being set back off the roadway in a small depression next to a larger shopping complex.

Very good customer service and experience. Mead is different than wine and definitely worth experiencing. If youre a cheap date, youll get a buzz off the tasting though.

Absolutely out of this world. New experience for me and just loved the tasting of the different honey and great tasting meads. Loved it so much ended up spending over $130

Great experience! Ive only had mead a couple times before, and got to taste 5 different kinds during our tasting. Definitely something Id recommend! Sarah told us all about how its made, and we were surprised to see that all production happened in the small space of the tasting room. We tasted some honey, too, and I didnt know how much the pollen source would affect the flavor of the honey. I couldnt leave without a couple bottles of mead and a large mesquite honey.

Small batch meadery. Does some very interesting flavor profiling of honey and adjuncts. All very good, cider hybrids, wine hybrids, fruit added mead, etc. You will find something you like. Mead tasting is free, and honey tasting costs a few bucks. Bottles in low to mid twenties. All around reasonable for such small operation.

Did an impromptu tasting. Fantastic experience and a great product, with a couple very unique meads. Highly recommend.

Very nice meadery with a great selection of unique and original meads. The Mead tasting is free and includes all the varietals that are currently available for purchase by the bottle. To add honey to the mead tasting costs only $7.The knowledge of our server during the tasting was impressive as each mead was provided with food pairing recommendations.My only recommendation is to have a selection of meads on tap that can be ordered by the glass.

Such fun. First you taste the raw honey and note the differences in the taste. Then you move to the mead. After you taste the honey you understand where the flavor comes from. This was a great experience. The team talking to us knew their stuff. They were fun and kept us moving and on target. As I said, it was a great experience. I would recommend everyone check this out.

Atmosphere and products were great, but the people really made the experience for both the adults and our young children. Thank you to the guy who gave our kids honey samples (theyre still talking about the marshmallow honey) and the owner - you both are great and we will definitely be back next time we travel to Williamsburg. Cant wait to use the soaps!

First Meadery we had ever gone to. I dont have a lot of places to compare it to but this one was very good theyre running small batches so it does change. Also never went to a place before where I tasted different types of honey.Have to update this based on our last visit and I must admit theyve really improved overall. They now control the entire building and have expanded to additional Meade flavors and overall the honey tasting has approved. So well worth it if youre in the Williamsburg area and like meade.

Must Do!If youre in the area, you must come try this! My husband and I had a scheduled mead tasting this past weekend for his birthday & it was a nice time. Glenn & Mark as well as the other staff members were really welcoming & friendly. Glenn presented the tastings & gave us interesting knowledge about the bees, honey & how the mead is made. The different flavors of the mead & honey were very tasty. Also being able to observe the bees working was pretty cool. We ended up purchasing the cinnamon whipped & meadow foaming honey as well as the Dream Weaver & Soak Up The Sun meads to take back home. This was definitely a fun experience!

Ive visited here twice now and both times have been amazing. We did both honey and mead tastings. Ive had mead before but the mead here far outstrips any of the competition - there is a clarity and a subtle blending of perfectly balanced flavors that Ive never tasted prior. The servers have always been extremely knowledgeable, informative, and fun. The first time I was amazed by all the different tastes of honey that existed. The mead is excellent and their flavors are spot-on. If youre looking for a fun, informative, enjoyable experience and want to try mead, this is your place. Staff is always friendly, personable, and warm. Id give 10 stars if I could. Hopefully well be back in the fall for the coffee mead debut.

I’ve had mead before. It was fine. Unique. Super sweet and kinda weird. None of this prepared me for the wonder of this place. Their mead is defined. It’s clear and focused. It’s a great experience. Except for one variety that tasted like cold medicine. But I bet someone likes it. The staff is friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. Was a great way to spend a little time. Tastings only tho. Can’t buy a glass to drink there which is super lame.

Wasnt sure if Id like mead, but was very surprised. Its my new drink of choice. The honey is top notch also....

What a fun afternoon on a rainy day with our grown kids. Had noidea Mead and honey could be sooo good.

Not an enjoyable experience, our host was not in a good humor which was very obvious right from the start, he rushed through everything, we were in and out in 20 minutes. Im local and was embarrassed for having taken my Christmas visitors here. I would not recommend.

Silver Hand Meadery is very friendly,kind,cool, and their honey is pretty darn good. I am not old enough to try the mead even though everyone says it good! And if you see yourself wanting to go you can meet a very cool worker named James his is helpful,kind and funny! James makes the place feel more comfortable! And if you see this James I like the Navy!

This little place leaves a big impression! The knowledge of the employees is awesome! And the honey is delicious! The mead is the best I have ever had! They have a members club too! No where near as expensive as a wine club membership! And as a member you get to sample so many more meads that are for members only!

Had a wonderful introduction to mead here. We enjoyed a free tasting of six different kinds of mead and learned about the production process, ingredients and food pairings for them. I recommend you stop here and sample the wares. You wont regret it.

It was amazing. Its a tiny, kinda, but so roomy inside.Its very personable. The employees are so knowledgeable. And willing to talk and explain. Taking the time. Making you feel so welcomed.And the product. Wow.The flavors and all over taste. Its almost too much to explain.They also offer tasting of the honeys they sell. And its mind blowing.So worth the trip. If nothing else but for the experience.But youll probably leave with a bottle and a jar ;)

Did a mead and honey tasting with a group of friends. All were delicious and had unique flavor notes. The staff was super knowledgable, fun, and answered lots of questions for us. Been to a lot of breweries before, never a meadery, especially in my own backyard. Saw the Mead Up event and had to check it out. Didnt disappoint! I was able to get a flight and try their award winning meads. Loved the blueberry and French style. Its a big deal since they can only do that 8 times a year. Local made honey too! Cant wait to go back. Part of the Williamsburg craft tour along with Aleworks and Va Beer Co.

I cant say enough good things about this place! As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted by a very enthusiastic employee and she made me feel very welcome immediately. I could tell right away she loved where she was and her priority was making sure I had the best experience possible! So thank you for that, its so rare these days! I attended one of their tastings, and once again had the pleasure of meeting another enthusiastic employee, and she did an excellent job explaining all the different types of mead, which was awesome because it was my first time there, and I never had mead before. Lets just say we bought 3 bottles on the way out and I will be back because they have excellent mead! If youve never tried it you need to come here right away! They will give you an excellent experience I guarantee it!

We went during our honeymoon last year, and absolutely loved it. The staff is super friendly, and the dude who ran the tasting was top notch. He was extremely knowledgeable about bees, honey, mead, wine, pretty much anything you threw at him. It was super cheap and great fun. Were coming back to the area this summer, and well be sure to hit this place again!

Fun time and host Aiden very informative! Easy to miss entrance, had to turn around, but not an issue. It would have been nice to have a snack of some kind to cleanse the palate, but otherwise a very enjoyable experience!

Visited the SIlver Hand Meadery on New Years Day and it was a really fun experience. The honey tasting was very informative, and the guide that provided our tasting is clearly passionate about his craft! This is a great experience for anyone that is interested in learning more about Mead, Honey, or Honeybees. You will walk away with a great understanding of the honey-harvesting process, as well as the way that a colony of bees works! I have since been back two times to purchase additional local honey.

Highly recommend a visit here if you are in the area and into Mead/wine. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. You have to do the honey tasting as well, its a diverse as the Mead.

Great place!! Stopped in here on a Wednesday afternoon and Glen, the owner/mizer (mead maker) did our honey and mead tasting. Great staff and great honey and mead. Honey tasting was unique and gave great insight into the product used in the mead. Highly recommend for the novice or expert mead drinker!

Had no idea what Mead was. Kept thinking my family was talking about a Meatery. Turns out it was actually pretty good. The different honeys that they use are delicious! Very informative and interesting tasting experience. Excellent thing to do when family is in town.

Went here with my family for the honey and mead tasting. FANTASTIC!!! Had a great time learning about different honeys and about what mead is ( I thought it was more like beer... Turns out its more like wine!). Everything was delicious and everyone there is so nice and very knowledgeable!

Very interesting place. We went there on a whim and thoroughly enjoyed the presentation about honey, bees and the varieties. Comfortable setting and what we learned about honey made us avid honey lovers. We left with a few bottles of wine as well which have since been consumed to our delight. I (we) are planning on making another visit this summer.

I am not a good one to ask. Being a diabetic, the mead is not good for me. I will say we came with 2 other people, total 4 of us. One die hard beer drinker was not going to change but the other couple loved it. I did enjoy the experience, but wish you had more room. Good luck.

My husband and I visited on a whim with our 5 month old strapped to me for a honey tasting and absolutely loved it. We just so happened to have the place to ourselves (mid day) so it felt really special. I would HIGHLY recommend them.
