I had read up on this place before visiting it. What I had read about this haunted place was very interesting but once going there its not as interesting as the story behind it was. But its still a nice walk on the trail.

Nice to preserve a part of our history with a walking trail. I just hope they keep up with the tunnel. Saw some fresh rubble on the pathway.

Definitely a pretty cool place to see. We had fun checking it out and the story behind it. There sure is a lot of homeless people living and lurking around, but none of them bothered us.

Very interesting historical location however the homeless people living there were a problem. We couldnt hike the trail without being bothered and trash and drug paraphernalia were everywhere. Watch for needles while youre there!

I love the caves down from the tunnel. On a hill though. Take someone with you for off trail.

Fitzsimmons Family Dog Park is great. Our dogs have a blast playing and running with the other dogs. The road to the park needs some places to pull over to let people pass. It is only a 1.5 lane road... Smaller in some places. This park was a great addition and much needed in a city with a leash law.

Nice three-mile-or-so hike to the Hempfield Tunnel from Lava Avenue in Elm Grove. Mixture of shaded and open pathway. Parallels I-70.

Use to be a good hiking area but wheelings homeless & drug epidemic problem has made it a very risky area..
