Lots of space. Great trail, but watch out for the bikes. They speed by like they own the place, and most of them dont know how to say, on your left!.

Tons of garbage. My partner and i have filled up several grocery bags worth of trash from this spot. But if you dont mind cleaning up first its a nice quiet spot.

Nice open area, it was a Greek picnic event. Very quiet and clean. Usually busy but weather was quite chilly that day.

Too much of musqito along the Trail. Also no benches to sit for few minutes. One can see the difference once u enter Cook county trail on the other side.

Quiet and peaceful

It Was clean and the benches were good to sit on, no rotting wood. Plenty of garbage cans for a big BBQ.

Its a damn nice dam. In a wooded foresty area (not really a park, but too small to be an actual forest).But you can spot hares, deers and all kinds of birds there. We also saw a coyote once.

Pleasant walk thru woods and open Meadows but very noisy from near by buisy roads.

Really nice area to chill but people throw garbage ...specially beer cans...that sad..

The Des Plaines River trail is awesome and capacious - you can go as far north as Wisconsin, and all the way south to the outskirts of Chicago. Im actually planning to bike that exact route :) Gravel trails abound - a skinny tired road bike had no problem dealing with it, though. Beavers and deer are the animal highlights, plus I saw a turtle out once - keep an eye out for beaver dams!

Can be hard to access. Ended up on wrong side of river. Pretty nice for the city folk I guess, but I prefer parks in more rural areas. Less people, more space.

Very good place for walking, clean and charming park, enough lots to park the car, dont go to the forest if you dont know how to avoid Poison ivy- plenty of it around.
