Had a wonderful opportunity to visit this beautiful mill that was built in 1887 in Waynesville, North Carolina. Our host was the most welcoming, friendly lady we have had the chance to meet on our whole trip to NC. She took the time out of her day to give us a personal tour of the mill, explained how the mill was built by her family and how the mill functioned. I was so caught up at the end of the tour taking pictures, that I had left my camera bag there after we left! I was so grateful that the owner called me to say she found my camera bag and that she will be mailing it to my home! Im so glad that there are such great people in the world such as her to reach out and do such good deeds for others.Thank you so much! Hope to see you again soon on another one of our adventures to the Carolinas!

The Francis Mill is a wonderful place to visit with an interesting local history. The events that are hosted twice yearly are always astounding, and the owners and volunteers are wonderfully hospitable. I will continue to return as many years as I am able.

Just ran into one rude lady here. I walked across front of the yard to shoot. She hollers at me from her front door to stay behind the ropes and do not publish any pictures of the mill. 1st time in all my years of shooting to encounter someone like this. I did not get a decent shot from where I was standing. Photographers don’t waste your time here. Not really that great a shot anyway. I drove a lot of miles out of my way for nothing to this.
