The view here is amazing. There isnt much to see on the trail but a nice in and out hike.

Trail head on mountain to sea trail.... hike along ridge line is beautiful! You can hike out as far as you want, then double back.

A surprisingly beautiful and often tranquil overlook.

At milepost 436.8 is a very nice overlook but this isnt just an overlook. below the overlook is the remains of a mica mine which was operated until about 1950. mica is deposited in very thin sheets and is a silvery brittle substance. mica used to be important because of its insulating qualities and was used in a lot of electrical equipment. The development of plastics rendered mica obsolete.

The Blue Ridge Parkway is a spectacular destination! One of my favorite motorcycle roads.

Beautiful views and a great place to watch the sunset. Lots of areas to stop and view the majestic beauty of the Carolinas and the Blue Ridge mountains. We spent about an hour driving up from the parkway to this point, and watched the sunset. Definitely recommended.
