Really nice park on the river...people were out with their kids and pets. Great place to also find a quiet place and reflect. There are a few Cafes but not sure if they were closed for the season. They also have an interactive part ...you scan the code and it provides a mini guided tour with different historical facts about the location. Great location to walk/jog or even yoga during the summer.

Its a great location that offers enough space for social distancing outside. Its a place where people gather and kick it alongside the river. Whether you pack snacks from home or you buy food from one of the restaurants along the walkway its a great place to set up hang out and chill.Or walk - considering the walkway stretches along the river. Kudos to the visitors and/or employees that keep it litter-free. Good stuff!

Visited this waterfront park today. Nice amount of seating if you get there early in the afternoon on a weekend. Huge and long boardwalk to experience next to the Potomac River. Tons of restaurants, bars, and a ice cream shop near by. If you are looking for a quick snack or some water, just walk to the Harris Teeter grocery store near by or stop in just to soak up the AC during the hot days of summer. Due to COVID 19 and social distancing the water fountain was turned off. Overall a good picnic, first date, or hangout spot to experience!

What a beautiful find! We spent several hours walking around here before a Nationals game. The walk is along the river and it was a breezy and absolutely lovely day. There are several restaurants on one side and the river with boats on the other side. A great find was the shallow pool with a waterfall on the back wall. FREE! Nice to cool off on a hot day! There are chairs and a shaded area to sit if you want to take a rest. Great way to get in some exercise as you can focus on the river instead of the effort put forth by walking or running, especially on a hot day!

Incredible place. Stopped with my daughter and puppy- to cool off in the splash area. Didnt realize it was an actual pool and waterfall. My daughter was so excited. Family atmosphere. Very peaceful and friendly. We walked afterwords and stopped for some Ice-Cream. I saw a really interesting looking craft beer/wine tasting spot but didnt get the chance to check it out. Looked incredible. Many cool restaurants line the strip.

Although this area has become unbearably crowded since it was first built, its still a wonderful place with various waterfront nooks and boardwalks to explore. I recommend coming on a weekday or during not so great weather to avoid crowds. Bammys Carribean food is amazing!

The award-winning sculptural bridge is the architectural icon of Yards Park. Kids love walking across it and getting a birds-eye view of the canal basin and Anacostia River. Have your camera ready for some Instagram-worthy photos! After you cross the bridge, enjoy the river with a stroll along the park’s boardwalk. It runs for a quarter mile along the riverfront and connects to the Navy Yard Riverwalk Trail.

The Yards should support and host local bands as well as performance artist to help people get out the house and enjoy nature and attend activities while still focusing on the social distance Guidelines. I am sure this will also help to people that are feeling a little anxiety or feeling down from the current situations because of this virus, i know because it happens to me sometimes but when I go out into nature and do something positive or attend activities then there is no room in my mind for negative thoughts So I hope this pushes waterfronts and surrounding venues to create a daily or weekly or even monthly event for the communitys in the DMV. #dmv #reviews #friends #family #social #eventsFollow @chefkamalc on Instagram if you enjoy my reviews or daily post or weekly reviews or just to see some really interesting food

Love this place. Plenty of space to sit and take in the sites. A lot of great restaurants surrounding it. In the warmer seasons there are lots of kids playing in the fountain/ pool. Dogs abound. A great place to have a picnic and people watch. Take a walk or just sit and meditate, read a book, or whatever you fancy.

Visited the beautiful park on a cold rainy day in the middle of the work day, so it was empty. There is plenty of space for very large crowds, the open space is designed very well and its all so elegant. Because of the rain, I only took one outdoor picture, and I didnt explore. I will absolutely be back on a nicer day to explore.

We packed a small lunch and blanket and took the metro to Yards Park. It was about a 7 minute walk (0.3 miles) from the metro station. The entire pool area is not any more than 12 deep. One of the rules is no toys or water guns and such but everyone had them and no one was getting in trouble. We had a great time. Lots of restaurants nearby including a Potbelly. Parking close to the park is nearly impossible as there is a lot of construction going on. Street parking is available but it is pricey!
