It is absolutely beautiful place to walk during spring time. Easy access, plenty of nice trails, amazing views, green grass, wild flowers, etc. What could be better? There are some free parkings around the open space. Sugarloaf could be easy reached when you park your car at Rudger park. Note the place is hilly so you should not be rushing while spending the there. Enjoy.

Its a nice open space in a really quiet neighborhood. Lots of trees and grasses. Not a huge area but a few picnic tables.

Our Cub Scout pack had a great weekend here. This place is convenient, has lots of space, and great amenities. The Moms loved the fact that there were flush toilets, the Dads loved the fact that cell reception is great there. Everyone loved the ampitheatre, the BBQ pit and the space for the kids to play with each other. Theres also plenty of picnic tables, and some decent hiking. We also had a dose of wildlife: coyotes, owls, frogs, and lizards. Its also an inexpensive place to book for your group. $25 deposit, then $10 per person. We had a blast.

One of my favorite places to hike in the tri-valley. Accessible, gorgeous, and not crowded. Parts of this area may be difficult for casual hikers as the hills can be very steep, but there are alternate routes to access the gorgeous ridge overlooking the entire San Ramon Valley. Beautiful oaks and benches scattered throughout. Also a great place for dogs!There is a sorta old school pioneer feel to this spot due to the old farming equipment around the picnic table area. And lots of trees. Just a really picturesque spot.

Nice secluded little park but facilities suffer from lack of maintenance. Very dry this time of year (Oct).

Nice little hike, theres a bench at the tip of the ridge thats good for sitting, nice view. VERY LIMITED PARKING !! Kind of a small hike though, check out Lime stone for a bigger hike

My favorite place to go walk the dogs!There is not a ton of shade cover so keep that in mind when its hot, but the views are well worth it.Once you climb to the top you get an incredible view of rolling hills on one side, and a birds eye view of the freeway on the other.Tons is space for pups to run around off leash & nice inclines to get your heart pumping.Highly recommend!

Dog loved it. Theres cows so if your dog isnt used to seeing cows maybe keep on leash.. Trails were very muddy when we went but the dog loved it

Nice Group Camping Space. Camped here for a Cub Scout Family camping. 1.5 mile bike nearby. excellent find. Quite near to the Highway, but just far enough not to be disturbed by it.

Its a great place to picnic, have a light hike, play Frisbee, and just enjoy the open space.

Although its always 10 degrees hotter than bay side of the hills Sugarloaf has such a nice mix of habitats as well as picnic/grill that Ill overlook the heat.

It really is an open space! I cannot remember being here, though, but Google knows better than I do.

Pulled off the freeway to take a break from traffic. Free parking. Clean bathroom. Very pretty and peaceful. I saw bbq pits. Very nice!

Just enough space to do a short run or hike, with several options to prolong your journey if the roughly 1.25 mile loop isnt enough for you. Deer wander around at dawn and dusk. The area allows off-leash dogs except for the picnic area, so beware if you do not enjoy dogs. Clean bathrooms, plenty of space to have a gathering, and rarely crowded.

Great place for a quick Goke. Several paths to choose from. Varying degrees of difficulty. Beautiful views of the Bay and of My Diablo. Rest rooms and water available at trailhead.

Nice set of trails, leading to a ridge, from where you have spectacular views, east to Mt Diablo, north past Walnut Creek, and west to the opposite ridge.
