Great park. When your here watch out for the Canadian Goose poop..otherwise this is a beautiful park in WC. Art and Wine Festival is located here and always draws a large crowd. You can take one of the regional trails to walk here.
Nice walk. They have a lake, at times too much goose poop to walk my little dogs. They have botanical garden. A big play structure for kids at the playground and a big swimming pool
Awesome space with plenty of green areas as well as long trails. Family friendly.Note: currently, kids playground is closed due to covid-19 state restrictions.
It was absolutely beautiful. Swimming pool and a small lake. Clean. Lots of space. This is a nice park.
A nice park with a wonderful playground for small to big kids. Its pretty large and can accommodate a lot of children. This playground is good for kids with disabilities or special needs too. There are numerous picnic tables and areas for activities like basketball & volleyball.Theres also tennis courts and a swim center.
Great place for wedding photography. If you are visiting the area and need something to do. I recommend going here
This is such a awesome place. The big, expansive playground is awesome for kids as young as 2. It includes disability-friendly swings for kids who need to be securely strapped in. The playground can be very crowded at times. There are picnic tables and park benches around the playground with overhead sun canopies to protect from the sun and and shade.Lots of green grass and trees. Dogs and their owners walk around the park and go to the dog park at the back of the park.Lovely rose garden with gazebo. Great spot to take wedding photos and also get married at. There is a community event building to rent out which has a fully equipped kitchen and outdoor grill.
Park is great to have an event, hang out, race your mini remote control boats on the lake or swim in the pool. Only thing is the capacity gets REAL PACKED.
Great place for family gatherings, open space. Ideal to stay safe and enjoy the outdoors.
Its a great place for taking the children out to play. With lots of space and play stations. They can let their imaginations run . Theres a beautiful lake with fountains. Great view. Theres also some shaded areas with chairs where one can book for say, a childs birthday party. More fun and less costs than renting a bouncy castle for a different venue.
All around great park all around. I usually like going early or later in the day when its not as crowded but there are plenty of fields, parking lots, trials to walk around and enjoy the scene. The park always seems to be well maintained. I have no comment on the pools and tennis courts but I do see much activity on there as well. When it gets busy, the park deploys parking lot monitors to help control traffic and protect walkers. Love this park and go there every weekend.
So this isn’t Covid related. It’s a park. I’m not here to complain if someone is or isn’t wearing a mask or on a playground. The park was nice to walk around. Plenty to do! Both pre an post covid.Plenty of shaded areas to sit an enjoy lunch.Rose garden is nice!Playground is huge!Decent amount of parking!I was really sad however to see the vast amounts of trash in the pond. I felt bad for all the turtles an fish.As well as the rude people who made a comment under their breath about someone feeding the ducks. I mentioned to them that your not to feed the ducks nicely an they said they didn’t know and did not see a sign. Which is true cause from where they were standing an from where they walked up there were no signs. So before Karen’s start going off on people feeding ducks. Maybe the person/s didn’t see a sign. It takes zero effort to say something nicely. This is just one section of the pond with trash but there is plenty areas full of trash.
I love the park, the ducks, and the weather was spectacular. The ducks water was green and did not look healthy.
Great park. Lots of green area with shade
There is something here for everyone even with the playground equipment off limits: Trails, sports fields, dog park, nature, beauty.
Beautiful and big. Lots of families enjoying the day.
Great place to bring your kids, dogs or just yourself. Ive started coming here to use the dog park and have met many wonderfully nice people. Im looking forward to exploring the grounds more, including the gardens which will be coming alive in the spring. I wish I took my kids to this playground when they were younger.
The natural and friendly place !Amazing, walking walking......By the way, have a awesome garden close to the lake.
The biggest playground and green space in the area. Wheelchairs services and parking are provided.Huge outdoor playground area, including vollyball, basketball, tennis, baseball, big childrens play area, and public restrooms. It is an active place, not quiet. It is highly recommended to visiting and feeling the energy!
Bathrooms: yesParking: adequateAge range: 3-10 yearsThis is a nice park for younger children especially; its got a bunch of cool equipment (twisty slides, pirate ship, climbing wall) but the best part is the little AstroTurf hills that they have here! Theyre super fun for little kids to slide down on just some cardboard.Photos: ducks and the grass hills.
Lovely park! I feel refreshed after a visit to this park, especially after a long tiring day.
Clean, huge playground for children of all ages. The lake is safe with a barrier around the park side. Volley ball courts, sand boxes, parking and public tables. Public bathrooms also on site. Worth the drive for a visit if you dont live close. A favorite!
Best playground! I live in San Jose and have family in the area and I love to meet them here so they could play with my son. He loves the playground. There are several structures for different ages. There is a pond and plenty of geese. The park and playground are usually pretty clean. There are a couple of tables with shade as well. This place gets hot in the summer and crowded too because of the summer camps. Its a very nice place and highly recommend it. (My kiddo is 2).
Great park with shade, green grass, and enough space to comfortably find a space for yourself and those youre with!
This is a fantastic park for younger kids. There are climbing and play structures for toddlers and older children as well. Many kids use cardboard boxes to slide down some small moguls in the play area. Surprising diversity of children on my most recent visit which is nice to see in Walnut Creek. This is probably one of the best toddler parks Ive been to. The nearby walking trails are a nice plus. There are lots of birds and interesting bugs to be seen.
I walk 3 miles to come to this park. It is beautiful and well kept. I enjoy the pond, ducks, geese, and native plants.
I love this park! It is so kid & family friendly. The park is large and the playground is a really good size also. Theres always enough room for play even though there can be LOTS of kids. You never have to worry about showing up here and your kid not having someone to play with. There is quite a bit of bench sitting available for parents as well as grass seating with a blanket. The majority of the play area is wheel chair accessible for kids in chairs. There is a bathroom across the parking lot in the swim center or in the opposite direction in the other parking lot. The bathrooms being so far would be my only gripe. If my daughter is playing its hard to get her to leave with me to go to the bathroom & I cant just go because I feel its too far to leave her unattended. Other than that one issue, its my favorite park.
We bring our daughter here very often and she really enjoys the swings here. The park also has canopies you can reserve and I often see people celebrating kid birthdays. There is also a dog park, flower garden and lake making it a great place to spend the evenings.
The park is nice and tends to always have some folks exercising around it. I go for the pond and Ive been able to pull out a 3 lb bass.
Beautiful walks and lots of open space to enjoy. Great local park to decompress.
The forbidden lake is better than the public lake to fish, you can see some big chungus swimming in the shallows
Beautiful space to explore! Theres fishing at a man made lake, swimming pool, rose garden and lots of space to take in a sunny morning. You can also host an event or set up a wedding; theres a lovely gazebo in the rose garden. Also, there may be an alternative reception area. Please explore! You will not be disappointed. Everyone needs a bright sunshiny day.
Really nice park. Crowed at the weekends but several beautiful areas.
Beautiful park. Nice trails with great views. Kids park is amazing. If its peak time with all the kiddos parking is kind of crazy. Overall excellent place to go walk or bring kids.
Playground still closed, but that didnt stop people from breaking the rules and using the equipment. Unfortunate byproduct of C19 is the trash that has accumulated. But great walking paths, gardens, loys of opportunities to stay 6 ft from humans.
One of the best parks in the area
Huge recreational area, something for everyone in the family, BBQ, picnic, volleyball, playground, swimming, tennis, fishing, etc. They have it all
I take my son here. We practice castingvhis pool in the water. Its a huge park with lots and lots of space for activities.
Go for a relaxing roses aroma and quite place
This Park is awesome its a really big park so much stuff for kids to play on and a big grass area for kids or dogs to run free
Lovely, scenic park. Great place to go to get your steps.
I loved this place as a child. It even inspired me to pursue a career in Environmental Education. However, now returning as an adult. i realized just how much of the park is flat concrete. This helps the park be highly acessable for people of all ages and its a great first step into nature. However, it keeps it from being a great and wild park for experienced hikers.
VERY NICE PARK. YOU CAN BARBECUE THERE. FISH IN THE LAKE . WHERE THE DUCKS ARE.
Aside from the goose droppings, always a great place to chill!
The park has been updated and the kids love it! They have lots of options such as swings, slides, rock wall, sand pit, grass hill to side down on cardboard, and more! There are tables and benches but they fill up fast. Bring a folding chair and you will be set! They have bbqs some are first come first served and some are able to be reserved
This was one of the best playgrounds I have ever been to!! The flooring is the padded kind. There was so much to do. The playground is giant and has a variety of fun slides, swings, bridges, ladders, etc. There is also a sand pit, which my kid lived. Grass mounds to slide down. Plenty of shade and picnic tables. The pond is beautiful and the gardens are fun to walk through as well. Loved it!!!
Nice place to walk & enjoy the Sunshine. It has a Big Beautiful Rose Garden. And the Biggest & Best Play Structures I have ever seen!!
It was great. There are working bathrooms and the playground is very big with lots of things to do
Best Park in the area. Biggest play area, lots of picnic areas available via reservation, a beautiful water area with lots of geese and attached to it is the best dog park in the region.
Great place to bring to fish, walk and relax.
People not wearing masks, big groups gathering, picnicking, families with small children sneaked into closed playground touched all surfaces with their germs filled hands. (My observations from the past few weeks)
This park is amazing and has it all. Multiple areas that you can reserve and they come with tables, bbq pits and giant built in umbrellas for shade if there are no trees around. This park is beautiful. There is s giant pond in the middle with a beautiful fountain. The are geese that hang out all the time. There is a giant room that you can rent for events. There is even a volleyball and basketball court. The kids play area is huge and has features that accommodate all ages. There is also a community pool in the same parking lot that you can pay to get into if you decide its too hot to bbq. There was a skate park, tennis courts and football/ soccer field nearby that im assuming is all part of the same park.I only have two complaints... maybe three. The first complaint is that the kids area is paved with pulverized rubber. This isnt really an issue but when it gets to be hot out, the rubber heats up too. Also, during high temperature days, it gives off a smell. But it is better than any form of bark and offers more protection for accidents. My second complaint is that although the geese and the pond are beautiful, they bring unsightly messes. A nice scenic walk around the pond quickly becomes a tip toe around the poop.My last complaint, which really isnt a complaint, is the parking. There wasnt a whole lot of parking and I had to unload picnic stuff and relocate to the street. Street parking was easy to find and free. So im not really complaining. It was a small inconvenience. The kids park was mind blowing despite the smell that I mentioned before. It really has a little of everything for all ages. There are swings and slides for all ages. Tunnels to climb through. A climbing wall in the center. Bouncing bridges, monkey bars, ladders, mazes, xylophones, large grass hills to slide down... EVERYTHING! the nicest part is there are several benches for worn out children and parents to take a break in the shade. Another nice touch is the shady spots on the playground itself. Much of it is covered in canopies or roofs to provide relief from the sun. This place is amazing and I wouldnt hesitate going back or reserving a picnic area.
This is such a wonderful place. Great for families.
There’s biggest playground and the single garden where nearly the fountain. The many families have gathered and play with the children. We have a relaxed day. Please join it.
Such a beautiful park. The synthetic grass hills are a great add to the playground. The park can be packed and it still seems pretty quiet.
Most amazing outdoor free play place to take your little ones! My daughter loved it.
Its a beautiful park, which is fun place equally for children, youth and seniors
A very nice place go cool off. Kids have so much fun. One small draw back is you have to keep an active eye on your kids. One time I came with my kids food a birthday event, my 4year old got missing for over 15 minutes. He was safe though but the anguish was real during the search. Overall, is very nice park and had great backgrounds for photograph.
Our kids love this playground. So much to do. The downside is that the playground is not gated and too close to the parking lot, in case you have wandering toddlers. Also the goose poop in the grassy areas is an issue.
Dog park was not so busy today with the change to daylight savings time and my dog was able to play with a buddy a long time.
Just a great place to wander and bring friends or family.
Awesome playground!! For little kids and big ones! Great picnic area. Lots of place to run and walks!
Clean pond and the place is well kept too. Perfect place for kids they will surely enjoy here.
Very nice, very comfortable. Love it! You can find play ground, garden, picnic area, soccer, baseball, basketball fields, dog parks, skate park, tennis courts, swimming pool, horse track here, all well maintained. Lots of parking available. You can see geese and other wild birds as well.
Perfect place for a family reunion. Large, grassy, shaded, play area, BBQ, even an icecream man, selling icecream! Would definitely go back.
My kid loves it here! Great place for many different things: parties, BBQ, art and wine festival, swimming, walking around the lake thingy, skate park, or just watching your kid slide down the little fake grass hill on cardboard.
One of the best local parks here in Walnut creek. It is an active place for bbq/parties/picnics.Tons of parking.Tons of fields and space.Pond/lake to walk around and exercise.Kids playground is great and busy.Swimming center.Tennis courts...Yes.. . I come here often!!!
What a perfect park to host an event! Beautiful grounds with an amazing playground for kids of all ages, volleyball court, swimming pool, basketball courts, and fantastic bbq and picnic area...and this was only the small portion of the park we used!! Check it out for yourself! Reservations recommended for weekend events as Im sure this park fills up!!
Great place for family. Huge playground for kids + nice trails and ponds with lots of ducks, and we even spotted an Otter!
One of my favorite nature places our area. Such a diverse place.
Great place for anyone, huge park, wonderful ponds... and great trails for exploring and adventures.
Suitable for families and children, there are many recreation facility and good walking paths. There are also various sports centers nearby.
Beautiful park, but the playground is closed.
Clean park with so many things to do! The playground is always pleasant and we enjoy it every time we go!
Nice area to walk, play Pokemon go, or sit outside to eat lunch. There is a garden also and playground equipment for children.
Sunday in the tranquil garden.
This is a big park. Huge. Lots of space to ride bikes or walk. There is a garden area.
Great park with lots of covered playground structures activities, rock climbing wall for older kids, fountains, sand for younger kids, fields for football and baseball practice. On the hot days not so shady there, but some sport on playground with shade. The only downside on the fields is geese poop all over the grass and make difficult to play any sports, launch quadcopter or anything in general without stepping into poop. This goes without saying- please do not feed the geese and ducks with bread and people food as they just inevitably ruin park for all of us in return.
Lovely place to relax and be close with nature. I love their fountains and trail around it
My daughter loved this park. We went on a Wednesday around noon time. Was quite a bit of people but didnt seem too busy or crowded. Nice and colorful place structures with a sandbox. Lots of geese so watch out for poop if you have your kids running in the grass.
Thinking of bringing your kids to an indoor play area just because its better than parks? Think again. This park is big, nice, fun and free! It features fun things to do under sun... even playing with sand and water -- just be ready to bring extra clothes and towels to wipe them dry. Youre little one will surely enjoy the slides, swings, monkey bars, little hills, wall climbing and a lot more. Plenty of parking and lots of green space to picnic or have bbq!
Wheelchair friendly park. Sandy volley ball courts (the sand will burn your feet. So use discretion). Its an overall very nice and spacious park
Great place for many spots and relaxation activities, picknik areas, newly renovated playground, two lakes, rose garden and much more.
I really like this park. My daughter loves it it also has a small garden for kids.
Roses are abundant and still showing color in December, though the spring is the best time to visit. But thats not all that is to like here. There are paths that take you to a hidden eagle sculpture, small beds of unusual plants that are worth a second look and seats tucked in and around the garden and lake to allow you to meditate on the beauty. One note, in spring, weekends fill up with weddings - the gazebo and gardens makes a great place for a wedding. But bring your lunch and youll find a place to hang out.
Its free and nice flowers too.
Really beautiful place for family hikes, strolling, and get-togethers. I sometimes take the boys out for soccer when they want to kick a ball around. Really a family-friendly park!
I love this park. Its huge and had lots of different things to do and areas for activities. The dog park is great, the sports fields are well taken care of, and theres a ton of BBQ areas.
Went with my incredible family to the Walnut Fair and had the greatest time! Love this park day and night :D awesome rock wall too
Very nice and well maintained park. Kids always have tons of fun here!
This park has everything: big open grass fields, volleyball courts, basketball courts, a swim center, a nice garden, a big pond with fountains, tons of kidsplay structures, picnic tables, nice walking paths, and much more. Each play area is designed for a different age group of kids, so any age can have lots of fun. The only downside to this place is its so popular that it can get crowded.
