Given the current restrictions, this is one of the only places we could find to legally access the water. Nice sandy bottom and the water gradually gets deeper so its good for children. The kayaking and canoing crowd may not appreciate swimmers, but all the ones we saw were polite enough about us enjoying the water on a hot day.
Great place to carry your kids fishing and boat launch for kayaks and canoes
Best place to paddle in the Raleigh area...no motor boats allowed. For a shorter paddle take a left to see the state park facilities and the dam beyond that. Bring your hammock and cold beverage. Take a right and go all the way to the end to see the beaver dam. There is a bald eagles nest on the right. If you are adventurous, portage over the beaver dam to lily pad world. Very cool. Watch for snakes in the sticks though.
A great spot for local fishing and a good place to hang out and hikes and trails. The road floods frequently so pay attention to the signs. not sure of the success of the fishing in the area but I do see a lot of people standing on the shore fishing so it must be good spot but Im not sure. It is a great place to put in a paddleboard, canoe, or kayak. No gasoline boats are permitted in the area.
Great place to enjoy everything that falls lake has to offer. Paved road all the way to the waters edge. Great for fishing, picnics, exploring, or even just relaxing. Awesome nature!
Beautiful area. Great place to fish.
Went out kayaking for the first time. Access road was flooded over but we put in & safely floated around the guard railing.
It is my santuary. Love dropping my Beavertail Stealth Sneakbaot in there whenever I can.
Love putting my kayak in here because no gas motor boats are allowed
Great access for launching a light boat, kayak, or a paddle board.
Great place to visit for kayaking, fishing, etc. Be careful if you drive down the road to where the water gets high, the road is all broken apart.
Kind of dirty but overall nice.
Peaceful
Good fishing
Great place for a kayak
