Y5 not always working spotty at best. Ran out of hot water. Very clean. Staff very personnel and professional.

Own a timeshare here. Light fixtures show rust. Door handles loose. Molding patched up. Room not clean. Found candy wrapper and used lollipop stem on floor. Called front desk to have room cleaned. No one ever came. Still have 5 days left here.

We stayed in a two bedroom suite for a week. The suite was a decent size for a family of five, except for the kitchen. The bathrooms didn’t come with any toilet paper when we arrived. The bedding was dirty. There was hair on the bathroom floor. Our suite has a small window in the master bedroom, but we were told that each suite has a balcony, and our suite didn’t have a balcony. When we arrived we had to get the Air conditioning fixed because we arrived to a non-operational unit. We wished the housekeeping was a little bit better. We had a hotel in Virginia Beach a few years back with better cleaned rooms when we entered the very first day.

The room itself was extremely clean and the strong AC was much appreciated after hundred-degree days on the beach! While I didn’t use the kitchen, it seemed well appointed and I appreciated that the dishes were in the dishwasher, obviously freshly sanitized. The firm bed was comfortable with lots of pillows, and the bathroom had plenty of towels.Water pressure in the shower wasn’t great but the hotel was really busy so i didn’t expect too much! I also liked that the floors were not carpeted so sand didn’t get stuck on them. The room was rather loud, especially with kids running up and down the hotel hallway screaming. It also sounded like someone was running a vacuum over my head at 11pm for fifteen minutes. I’ve never been to Virginia Beach nor did I grow up going to the shore so I had NO IDEA what to expect. The hotel staff members were friendly and efficient, and the hotel itself is ideally located if you’d like to enjoy the boardwalk. In the future I’ll pick something a bit quieter but highly recommend this hotel if you’re spending some time at the beach with family.

We arrived before check and were told our room would be ready at 4. We did not get into a room until 5p. They ended up giving us another room. The halls and elevator was dated. The room was comfortable and the staff very friendly and responsive to our needs. I qould stay here again. We were across rhe streer feom the beach and near everything fun. The staff was very responsive to safety from the covid by providing masks and hand sanitizer

Spacious rooms, short distance to the beach, indoor pool and amazing restaurants within walking distance. Also very reasonably priced compared to the others especially if you book through hotels.com wonderful experience. I wish we could have stayed longer, but unfortunately we had to get back to work and our lives. I would book this place again and again!!!

Dirty... We got 2 separate rooms. One had not been cleaned upon arrival. No soap in the bathroom dispenser, 3 out of 3 tvs didnt work. We moved to another floor with 2 bedrooms. Tried to go to bed around 11:30pm.. Pulled the covers back and the sheets were dirty, hair and dirt on the sheets, makeup stains on the sheets, pillow cases had not been changed, pube hair on the sheets. Comforter also had hair on the underneath side. Had to go downstairs to get new sheets and new comforter.. Will be moving out of here tomorrow.

Website advertised indoor pool unfortunately it was destroyed by protestors. Sign said we could use another hotel pool owned by same company but had to have a spot reserved and we weren’t told that. When we filed a complaint they lied to hotels.com and said it was closed because of Covid. Elevator wasn’t working the whole time which was a huge inconvenience. No toilet paper when we got to room and when we called for more paper towels at one point they had none in stock. Whenever we needed any amenities it took quite awhile to get them.

The property Manager is the best( Bill Mitchell).He looks out for the guest and the owners.

Certainly on the never again list. Tried to work from home here and whole time fire alarms been going off all morning with no way to turn it off. Checking out of the 5th floor and only 1 elevator works. Other than that’s its a fine 3 star place but Never again for me !

Room services prompt and friendly, front desk staff very quick and efficient. Even with COVID precautions they made it the best they could.

After reading the recent reviews I was concerned HOWEVER, my husband and another couple stayed the past two nights. Upon arrival, Autumn greeted us and checked us in. She provided everything we needed to know for our stay, i.e. COVID required changes. The rooms are very big! Our room was clean as well as linens. The reason for four stars, the thermostat in one of the rooms was regulated to not go below 70 but the other was not. It did get stuffy in our room but not unbearable. The other reason for four stars is the complimentary laundry and ice machines are closed in lieu of applying COVID requirements. This could be accomplished to better accommodate guests. Thank you again Autumn and staff!

We are timeshare owners and this was probably the worst resort we have stayed in over the years. Our tv didnt work. We reported it and nothing got done. Our internet worked in some rooms. Our coffee pot did not have all the components. There was not any soap in the dispensers. However, the staff was very helpful and polite.

Stayed through air bnb which I should have done more research because that’s just odd to me that that can happen. Entire place smelled like smoke. Couches old and extremely uncomfortable. Really great location though so cheap place to stay if you don’t wanna be in your room that much but the smoke smell was really disgusting.

TVs didn’t work, the hot tub was closed but the pool was open by appointment only, game room was closed and they didn’t give us a discount for anything! Other than that the staff was friendly and the rooms were nice!

Great place to come and u can have the family come and stay when u leave . There are activities planned as well if u come to have fun or rest . Tell them AJ Stafford sent u or recommend this place to u and get a percentage off.

Nice room across the street from the ocean, but because of COVID the hot tub, ice machines, and laundry (?) were all closed. And our dishwasher did not work.

I’ll update if it gets any better, but it couldn’t have started worse. It’s now been over an hour since we were supposed to check in and nobody seems to know what’s going on. Now my wife, baby and two younger kids are ready to relax after a long trip and we have to deal with rude people who don’t care to be here. So far, so terrible.

My boyfriend and almost 2 year old son stayed here this past weekend. Every single person that we crossed paths with that worked in the hotel was super friendly!! MY son is friendly and loves to wave to everyone that goes by him and everyone would smile and wave back, one front desk lady even threw his ball to him a couple times. Its really the small things that turn out to mean a lot especially with children! Check in and out was a breeze. Room was super clean. Nothing bad at all to say about this facility, wonderful especially for such a great price! Interested to see what the price will be during the peak times in the summer. Would 100% recommend.

Hot hallways, old dusty couch and old furniture. Somebody needs to buy the company VSA, and renovate there old buildings.

Well laid out unit but road noise is very significant.

The check and took 30 minutes. I waited 30 minutes after I had booked it with Expedia. Overall the resort itself is clean, well kept and of quality such as the linens and toiletries. The mini kitchen is a nice touch. However, the experience I had during my stay was because of other guests. When I complained about my experience management took care of me and the other guests.

My husband and I scored when my mother in law wanted to watch our son Valentines Day weekend. We wanted to relax, rest, bond and enjoy some good sleep. We chose Ocean Key Resort. I would have initially had given my experience one star but the director of the resort really made of for my experience. The building is nice, parking is weird, the layout is different but the cleanliness of the room itself is sensational. Our experience was awful because of other guests and the amount of time it took to get checked in. The other guests really messed up the hot tub experience and the sleep but I am thankful Dion and Bill Murphy are so about customer service. The area and location are so ideal for a fun weekend, especially in the Summer. We will be back and almost sure it will be a five-star experience.

We had a great time when we recently stayed, very nice atmosphere very close to everything at the beach, the horseback riding was right out back off our patio very nice.

We had a marvelous week. The staff was very welcoming and family oriented. If it was anything needed they were aim to please. My only complaint was the Sleep sofa, IT IS IN NEED OF UPGRADING.

Besides the location there wasnt much positive to say about this hotel.From the super cramp parking spaces to the lumpy old bed, this was not a hotel that I would want to go back to.The hotels decor was outdated and the staff need to be better trained to know how to attend to their customers needs.We have adressed our various concerned but nothing was done.We booked two weeks and had to recheck inn after week one. However they refused to clean our room stating that they were too busy. Totally unacceptable.

- Extremely noisy.... day and night, no chance for relaxation. Even the employees walking through hallways were loud... verbally and on walkie talkies.- Stained sheets... looked like blood- Mix up in rooms... was tolld that I would have an ocean view, but a view of a pond was the actua viewl. Was told that the room would have a balcony... was verified after arrival that balconies were reserved for the owners.- Floors had not be vacuumed recently. Much debris throughout.- Dishwasher full of unclean dishes- Gnats in the rooms.- Televisions routinely lost signals- Really small kitchen area, for the price.

At this time I can only say that it is connected to the resort where I stayed. The staff was courteous & those I saw seem to be having a great time

Customer service are horrible. Employees are not welcoming. Their not emphatic and knowledge. I’m very disappointed and I would not recommend this place!!!!

My wife and I had an overall good experience. The rooms could use an attention to detail and some upgrades. They do have tvs in the bedroom and living room. It features a nice little kitchen with dishes, etc to cook your own meals. Great location that is close to the boardwalk and many restaurants. It has a nice hot tub and pool although the pool was pretty cloudy, I assume this is due to end of season. The staff was nice. Special thanks to Tiffany and Nancy for helping my wife when she had a minor trip and fall accident on the boardwalk.

We stayed at the Ocean Key Resort from the 29th thru the 3rd of July. Everyone seemed very sweet and serviceable, the 1st night we realized the AC wasnt cooling so we notified the service desk what was occurring, I mean it was 87 in that room my family and I were so very uncomfortable. All the rooms were booked so we couldnt exchange rooms, the next day the manager found out what happen and he immediatley changed us to another room, he was proffessional and made sure that we were content.

This reservation online is terrible, it scheduled me for days that I didnt choose and took the money out immediately withno refunds available.

Clean and not crowded. Only thing I didnt like was some of the cleaning staff were not wearing masks while traveling through hallways and in the elevators with guests

Wonderful vacation location. Very close to oceanfront. Generously sized pool with hot tub. 3rd floor features an amazing activity center which is very family friendly. Children can do arts and crafts while mom gets a tan in the complementary tanning booth and dad can enjoy a round of billiards. Pizza restaurant attached to building. 2 elevators. Relaxing outdoor lounge. Fitness center in activity room. Rooms are suites with a king sized bed in one room with closing door. In the living room area there is a pullout sofa. Kitchen area fully stocked with cooking utensils cutlery and dishes pots and pans. Our room was clean and the staff was friendly. Highly recommend!

Linda or Lisa whatever her name is, is very rude and unprofessional. Her being at the front desk made my stay a living hell . I would not recommend this hotel . Lazy staff and dirty rooms, when you complain they just ignore you

So far, room is sub par. Smells like deep fryer oil... Appliances work. Bed is OK. Carpets are gross. Fold-out sofa is uncomfortable and cushions are in need of new covers and new padding. One small window in bedroom, very dark. We left 2 days early. Wontbe coming back.

Decor is modern and attractive. Room is laid out well. Staff are pleasant. Pool is small but well maintained. Bathroom walls need to be wiped down. Wood laminate floors made my daughters white socks dark black in three minutes. Great location. So close to beach. The 5th street end where this place is located has the better food.

This was my first trip to VA Beach, and I truly enjoyed staying at Ocean Key. The bed was comfortable, and it is always nice to have a kitchenette. I loved the location on the south end of the boardwalk, just a block from the beach. It was just my husband and me so the room felt spacious with an area to sit and watch TV, have a meal, and a private bedroom with lots of storage. The bathroom was a little tight in the sink area with not a lot of room to put stuff.We arrived on Thursday and enjoyed a complimentary wine and cheese reception on the patio outside the fitness/activity room. What a great way to start relaxing! Maryann and Clinton were SO welcoming and hospitable as were all the staff we met. While this hotel was wonderful for us, I have to say that I dont require or want to pay for extras like turn-down service with mints on my pillow, spa tubs, and valet parking. If you want to pay big bucks for that stuff, there are lots of options in the area. If you want a better-than-basic, clean, family-friendly, affordable place to stay, I highly recommend Ocean Key.While you are in the area, check out what the Aquarium has to offer for activities. It is just a mile away. We enjoyed a fantastic seafood festival and an awesome craft brew cruise complete with dolphin and whale sightings.We had a great stay at Ocean Key and hope you do too.

Overall our experience here was just OK. I dont want to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but once I declined a timeshare sales session it felt like our service took a nose dive. We had to pull teeth just to get fresh towels. We asked for coffee filters for the in-room machine multiple times and literally never got them. The room was nice enough for our small family, with a fully equipped kitchen, pull-out couch for the child, and separate bedroom with door for mom and dad. No room service or official hotel restaurant, though there is a connected ice cream and pizza shop with a beer and wine bar. Ill definitely be shopping around next time Im in VA Beach before I consider spending as much as I did here.

The resort is not what I expected but glad that we did get it for the week and were able to enjoy the pool and jacuzzi all to ourselves during our mid winter recess

Prospective timeshare purchase although I did not buy. Its a converted hotel with standard hotel features and a great location. Maybe if they showed me the atrium (their upscale resort next door) I mightve considered purchasing a timeshare. Ocean key is pretty basic to me. And of course the free getaway package I was promised to view, I never received because I didnt buy. There are better resorts...

Great place to stay with family. Nice rooms, anything I needed room service was fast and a great view of the ocean. Everything I needed was near by. They have a nice size kitchen as well, and had dishes already in cabinets. All needs were met here. Can’t forget about how kind the staff was. I’m choose this hotel again.

Do not buy this time share. It is not worth the time or trouble to deal with the management. Cost is constantly creeping up and service is equally declining.

This place is full of southern hospitality. Also me a lot of northern transplants. The only thing i have problem with is the pool is literally in the lobby or should i say its part of the lobby. Other than that the rooms are dope. Please excuse the northern lingo. Im from NY! The kitchenet is wonderful. Wal-Mart is down the road. Lots to do. 1st day here went a place where they have whale watching charters. A guy pulled into the dock with a state record 700+ tuna! Virginia does it big. Aquarium is close. Great place to visit and stay. Check it out.

WONDERFUL condo for the week. One bedroom with all we needed. Little balcony to look over inlet. Walk across the street to beach. EXCELLENT service. EVERYONE was so pleasant and helpful. Highly recommend!

Room was not as promised and was dirty.

Sheets were not changed and hair all on the inside of the bed. People are always yelling or screaming... Yes, screaming in the hallway late at night and early in the morning. I havent had a good nights sleep since I arrived and I on vacation. Tub doesnt drain. They pump some smelling scent through the vents which gave me an asthma attack. Horrible place to rest and relax. The people who work here are nice.

(4 stars because it could definitely use some updating and the parking deck is terrible.)Great location thats walking distance to beach, shops, and restaurants. The wifi was nice since I needed to get some work done in the mornings. We found the staff extremely helpful and friendly. When we arrived the sink faucet was broken, but fixed upon our request. Be wary of the horrible parking deck. Spaces are so small and there are huge concrete poles in between parking spaces as well as in the middle of the lane.

Celebrated my oldest daughter 29th birthday with her friend and my baby girl with her friend and me with my fiance. Spent time In the pool and jaccuzi and beach

Stay the week at this hotel. It was very nice I like that room the kitchen area the bathrooms the TVs. The people that work there are very very friendly. Very polite. I love the indoor heated pool and hot tub. And its within walking distance to so many things to see. And just one street over from the boardwalk.

WARNING: Do NOT attempt to arrive before 4pm on the day of your check-in. We arrived at 10am because we prefer to beat the traffic, we figured we’d have to wait awhile since we arrived so early. However, we ended up sitting around until after 4pm, with the staff refusing to work on our room any sooner even though they knew we were sitting there waiting. In fact, I heard the staff talking about how they only had one room left at around 3pm, obviously ours since we were still waiting, which means that they pushed ours to the very end on purpose. They had the nerve to tell us to “go for a walk” in 110° heat for over six hours. We’ve been coming here over 20 years and have absolutely never had this problem, our latest check-in in the past was 1pm. This place seems to be getting worse every year.

Ocean Key Resort was okay. The room was kind of small and outdated. The funny thing was they were trying to sell us on a timeshare. And I was thinking if you want me to buy a Timeshare you should probably give me the best room you had. One thing I can say it was close to the beach and that was a plus. How could I forget the pizzeria downstairs was awesome. That was the best Stromboli I had ever.

Man the worse hotel I ever been to. First both elevators are broke. Than the battery on my door stop working so I had to go up and down the steps before they finally figure out the door was broke. The comforter wasn’t clean that was on the bed. Was dirty and nasty. Bathrooms didn’t have any soap or anything inside. No towels. Nothing. Than when you had to check in the lines where long and process super slow. Than there was no carts to carry luggage from car to room. Worse place I ever stayed. Will never check in here again

One of my favorite places. Always nice to find a place where the employees feel like family. Always clean and everyone is ready to please. Located between the beach and a quant little boardwalk. Also, they have some great specials best to talk to hospitality department before booking for said savings.

When I came to stay at the OCEAN Key Resort for my business trip I was a met by Ms. Natasha Edwards and Ms. Le Ann Glover. The customer service they provided was second to none. I must say I was impressed. They made sure my room was beyond my satisfaction and everything was fit to my needs. You usually don’t have this type of customer friendly environments in resorts but boy was I surprised. From now on Everytime I come to Virginia Beach for business I will definitely stay at the Ocean Key Resort and I hope Le Ann and Natasha are available to service me.

The staff was very friendly and everyone was very accommodating. The location was nice. Being at the end of the strip is a plus if you like to be in the action, but dont want the congestion. I felt like I was at home away from home. I also enjoyed the pool hours. Having a little extended time during the Adult swim hours is a nice option to relax before bedtime. I will be recommending this property to all my friends and family.

Few glitches at check in but worked thru. TV doesnt work and when I called they said they already knew and had worked on it all day yesterday to no avail. So why put me in a room that doesnt work. Idk. No resolution either.

This resort has come a long way but there are still some areas for improvement. Ill start with the pros: friendly staff, convenient location, nice new pool furniture, and lots of crafts for the kids. There is also ample furnishings in the rooms. The kitchenette doesnt have an oven, but the microwave has a convection setting and works really well. There are three flat screen TVs in the 2 bedroom units. Cons: They really need to work on cleaning!!!! The pool area didnt have a trash can so people tend to just leave their trash (one lady even cleaned hair out of her hair brush and threw it on the ground - gross!) Lots of sand in the pool (which is hard to avoid since people arent considerate about showering off after going to the beach). The rooms also needed a lot of attention - dusty and mold in the bathroom. The furniture and carpeting are dated and worn. Another issue that we have had with every visit is the A/C. No matter how low you try to set the thermostat, youre lucky if you get below 75 degrees in the summer - even with leaving all of the interior doors open for air flow and making sure that the exterior door stays closed. So - overall - not a bad place to stay but definitely areas for improvement to get to the 5-star level.

Pressing zero (0) did not get me to the front desk, just a playing of Its a great day at..... Tried Option 5, they are closed Friday, called back again since 0 and 1 didnt work tried 4. Got Jen in Marketing who connected me to the Front Desk. I told them I wanted to confirm my reservation and they put me on hold....for 16 minutes as Im writing this. I havent even spent one night there yet, but hopefully things will improve. Hanging up and will email or try them again. Unbelievable!!Tuesday, Oct.9th, 2018 WOW....My brother got through in 30 seconds. Must have been a glitch. Tish (very nice) the GM was up to see us, apologize and stated we had made all the correct selections. We expressed to Tish that we are enjoying our stay, very clean, staff is very friendly, personable, helpful and they love to laugh too. We are enjoying our stay and would recommend Ocean Key to anyone.

No bathroom curtain, floor was sticky too much cleaner, told the staff they was limited on what they can do, staff was nice. they dont clean daily, some going green nonsense, ac was not working, the halls were hot no ac, crowded. Not coming here again.

Dated resort. Pool was in the lobby and very small. Room had one small window an felt like a prison cell. Staff was friendly. Refrigerator didnt work and had to be replaced. No complementary breakfast. Caught male staff member trying to enter our room, even though they werent supposed to clean our room. Requested a do not disturb sign for the door, and were told they didnt do that. Had to make our own.

Great location. Close to multiple attractions and the beach. We booked multiple times, staff we very attentive and knowledgeable. We utilized several services, maintenance for clogged drain, extra towels, and extra linens in the middle of the night due to a sick child. The kids are looking forward to craft activities this week. Would definitely book this place again.

As an owner this is the best investment weve ever done. The amount of vacation per year that we spent are all well worth it. This is a great spot and we can here as much as we want and use the pool, jacuzzi, recreation room and stay for the weekend and even for social events at any of our 3 time share resort. I recommend owning one of them at least. I tell you its all worth the price.

We enjoyed our stay there. There was a concert going on the beach so it was a little more on the crowded side but other wise clean and everyone was very respectful.

Wonderful resort for a last minute change in plans. Room was too hot, but otherwise wonderful place to stay.
