So cool to see this even if the Old Tree is dead. Teaches us that nothing lasts forever and we have to protect what we have now if we want it for the future.
Beautiful park even though Highway 14 is right in front.Sadly, the tree died last week at the age of 194 years!R.I.P. Old Apple Tree 1826-2020.
We went to the Apple Festival this year. If you bring apples, they will clean and cut them so that you can press them into cider. They recommend a variety of apples for the best flavor. 20 pounds of apples made about a gallon of cider. The reason I didnt give five stars is the vendors unrelated to apples or fresh food in general. One of the booths was for martial arts. Overall a good time.
Super old historic apple tree protected with its own gate! These apples must be sinful, or sinfully good (when theyre in bloom at least). Really hidden if youre not familiar with this part of town, but the GPS will get you there. Park and walk through the tunnel to the apple tree and Confluence Land Bridge. Enjoy a beautiful day!
This amazingly old tree has a rich story, unfortunately it is right next to a major road and it is slowly dieing off. If you are going to see the tree you should continue your walk over the interstate and visit the old fort. The fort is interesting and only a 10 minute walk from the tree location.
This tree has died at 194 years old.
Historical and cool. This is the grandfather of most of the Apple trees in Washington state. Im glad they preserved it!
The perfect place to smoke a cigar
Interesting and historical little place. Worth checking out.
This was a fun surprise for me. I had no idea this was here until I stumbled upon it on my walk. The land bridge that leads from the Vancouver Fort to it is a pleasant place for a walk.
Encounter a piece of history right in the middle of Vancouver. You park in a small lot along the Columbia River, walk across the street and down a path that goes under the railroad tracks. Then, ahead of you is a small apple tree, surrounded by a protective fence. This tree is the oldest in the Northwest, from a time before Washington or Oregon were states, when the fort was the center of everything. Nearby Fort Vancouver is just a short walk away along the land bridge, and well worth it. If you decide to visit the replica of the original Fort, park there and walk to the tree.
Have passed by this park for several years. We will go now. Thanks for the postings.
Cool little piece of history
Not really a park just a cool piece of history along a concrete trail path that connects to water front trail & the Vancouver Fort.
I dont know if you can really call this a park. Maybe a pass though space? A larger path perhaps? Maybe thats for the best considering the highway traffic on one side, and the never ending line of bomb cars on the tracks to the other side. The historic tree is adequately fenced in unable to move from the noise, or from the explosion waiting to happen.
Oldest apple tree we have!
At night the history is as beautiful as the view...but make sure to bring a flashlight at night to read the plaques because the beauty is in the story told as well as the breathtaking view which doesnt need light because the buildings along the shoreline light up your view
Historic Apple tree that refuses to die

This tree is amazing.
Cool place to check out some Vancouver history.
Not really a park, but definitely an interesting spot to check out, especially when walking from the Fort to the river (or vise versa).
Nice old school park.
Had to walk in not sure how far as its located off a very used road.
