The park is a decent size, and very clean. There are covered bench tables to sit at. There is also a little gravel trail that goes around the park that you can walk. Several smaller trees around the park provide great shade for a picnic. There is not a playground or anything, but there is lots of room of open grass to run and play in.

It was so nice to step back in time and imagine who walked this structure in the early 1800s. Perfect place to go for backdrops for family, Senior school shots and even weddings.

Interesting to place to visit. The plaques that showed what the building used to look like were neat. The park was clean and well maintained.

Free to all and a very peaceful place. The ruins give you an idea of not just how the building looked, but also how it was constructed. Definitely worth the stop.

Pretty cool how you can scope out the ruins of a burned-down building, which also happen to look like ancient greek ruins. Kind of cool to wander around and take cool pictures.

Nearly Always a quiet and peaceful place to walk a bit, sit some, watch kids/students playing on the well-kept open area. There also some remains of the old school for younger children to climb over & a large, shady gazebo to enjoy. Very relaxing

Hidden gem! Gorgeous gazebo, large enough to accommodate a small get together, etc. Pretty view, and the perfect place to take pictures, I think. Plus, its a piece of history...great for homeschool outings/field trips or even just to visit and see/learn about the historical aspect. Several plaques along throughout the park tell about the building, those involved in the architecture, and more. Oh, there is an expanse of open field for games or just to let the kids run off some of that energy!

Once the capitol of Alabama, Tuscaloosa is the historical home of the Black Warriors (a Native American tribe, for whom the river that bisects the city is named), the University of Alabama, a quaint downtown area, and some historical sites that allow for youthful rambunctiousness.
