Great History of African Americans. The tour guide was very knowledgeable.
A lot of rich history and the guide was very knowledgeable in Tuscaloosas part in the Civil Rights movement.
Wow, couldnt have had a better tour
Unique Small Museum. Downstairs has a guided tour of rooms set up similar to how the house was used. Upstairs rooms are set up as exhibits on various subjects of African American history. Guide had incredible and powerful accounts of people involved with the Bloody Tuesday events at First African Baptist Church which is one block over.
Have to say I really wanted this to be good. But it just wasnt. It had some great information, interesting sting facts. But its a hosted walk around so its hard to linger. No photos allowed, the host didnt know much (at all) about people or objects in the museum. No stories no interesting facts. Pretty disappointing.
Great place to view early 1900s African-American society.
Caretakers are well informed
Lots of great local lore
A REAL Tuscaloosa treasure!
