This place is awesome they have a great staff excellent selection good prices. My kids enjoy themselves in the GameZone for hours of entertainment and fun they got to play the games that I grew up playing and got to see the different game consoles that we grew up knowing. Their staff member who was working at the time great customer service cuz he was really into his work he knew his insides and outs of the gaming world. We are definitely going to go back and visit again

This place is awesome! They have a super cool section in the back that has a wide variety of unlimited-play arcade games you can play for $10! I love this place. We always come here to play retro games and have a blast every time! The owners are so friendly and nice! The staffs are always going above and beyond to help.

For some reason it says I visited this place yesterday but the visit was today 6-20-19 & I love this place The Gaming Zone for all my retro games and accessories. I purchased this for my GameCube today. Love this game.

Both locations have very friendly staff and will go out of their way to help answer questions. The Tempe location is awesome with stand up arcade cabinets which have all you can play for like $10. If I have one complaint is that, even though they recently moved to a larger location, the game room is small and can only hold at most 15-20 people with not many places to sit down during events. It can be hard to move around at times. Otherwise, its a great place and a welcoming atmosphere.

When Im looking for video games there is where I go. No exceptions. They have good prices and the staff are crazy knowledgeable. These peeps love games. Theres a really good arcade and game room in the back. The gaming zone isnt just a place of commerce, they are community centers for the gaming oriented and a really important part of the social fabric of Maricopa. Keep up the good work!

This place is awesome with its weekly and monthly events and get togethers, and now with 2 stores, theres even more inventory to check out. Staff is always friendly and the owners are pretty cool. Prices are very fair and reasonable and so is their trade offers. One of the few places that has arcade machines, the selection is a decent size but all topnotch games in the arcade room. Overall a great experience every visit

The guy that runs this place is amazing. I’ve bought off of him several times (and won a contest too!) everything I’ve ever bought arrived super fast, is packed with extra goodies and is packaged so well it’s practically indestructible. Thank you for everything, can’t wait to see what you do next!

The Gaming Zone is awesome! At the beginning of Quarantine, I wanted a Super Nintendo to keep me busy and play the classics. They gave me an awesome deal and I got Super Mario, Megaman X, and they even through in a bonus game for free! Amazing customer service. Playing Super Mario took me back to my childhood and it’s been great to pass the time playing it! I will be back for sure!!! Thanks Gaming Zone!

The store owners and staff are very knowledgeable on retro games (unlike a lot of stores ive been too that mostly just know about PS3/360). Prices are fair and they carry batteries and other replacement parts to fix your older systems. If youre into retro, repros, or arcades I havent found a better store in AZ!

The place is cool in concept, but its obvious the owners dont know the price of their merchandise. Or theyre just looking to scoop as much profit as possible. $50 for Zelda Spirit tracks is insane, along with a $50 price tag on 007 GoldenEye because of a reproduction case (and asking $25 for no name snes games is a bit much). I want to like the location, but for collectors beware: search elsewhere first.

These guys are great! You should definitely choose TGZ over a company like GameStop... and dont trust the 1 guy with lots of accounts who is leaving 1 star reviews.

Ive been going to the gaming zone for years and I can honestly say that without it, Arizona would not have a thriving fighting game community. This place holds events and tournaments for us on a weekly basis, they provide all the equipment and allow us to set up streams etc. The owners are some of the coolest and most accommodating people I know.

Amazingly hard to find items in stock, awesome retro arcade! Must visit if you need those rare games or items. When the rona dies down, be sure to visit the arcade!

Go to one up games or fallout games. Went in a few weeks ago and they had a game i was looking for.. it was 250$ the guy at the register wouldn’t come down on the price at all. I showed him the same exact game on ebay for 140$ cheaper and with the manual and he wouldn’t budge so i just ordered off of ebay. If you want gamestop like prices come here. The owner of FOG and 1UpGames are more fair with their prices.

Needed a corded Xbox -360 Controller and I knew Gaming Zone was the place to find it. Extremely friendly, the selection is awesome, and their Arcade is an absolute steal at 10 an hour.

The fighting games are in great condition, the arcade is a lot of fun, overall me and my two kids had a great time and we just so happen to come in when they were having a special and it was half off. Good Times! They also have a lot of great swag associated with games and game and culture along with a lot of retro games and consoles. Its a good spot if youre looking for retro console games and game-related swag as well as a great arcade and some computer stations.

The staff arent just employees, theyre gamers. There are many stores in Phoenix that sell retro games and consoles, but, the GAMING ZONE sets themselves apart from the rest by having an arcade lounge that hosts tournaments and has a bunch of arcade cabinets to choose from, many of them hard to find anywhere else, and they give local gamers needing a place to hang out a spot they can meet up at. I prefer to do business in a store with this kind of environment, where the employees dont just see a game with a dollar sign on it, but can also make suggestions of other games you might like along those same lines, they wont hassle you, talk down to you, its a family friendly venue, locally owned and operated, run by professionals.

The store is set up very well. Huge variety of games for multiple platforms. Prices are competitive to high end. I picked up a couple NES, SNES, and PS2 games. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I would come back here next time I am in Phoenix.

They make their own 64 controllers with more durable parts. A no brainier of a first purchase. Great place! If I have one critique I would ask that the arcade have an hourly rate discounted by group and by age. It would be awesome if it was more flexible. This is an awesome place to pick up new and retro games and various pop culture items like cool shirts and keychains and such, associated with video games.

Nice store to buy games from. Also have an arcade in the back. I have not played the arcade yet, but you pay by the hour to play. Only thing that could make it better is their prices are a little higher than GameStop for classic games.

One of the best retro gaming stores I’ve ever seen. Clean organized with great friendly customer service. The library of game they have is amazing. Think of it like the Disneyland of video games. So many great titles to choose from plus they have a awesome arcade room that will remind you of how awesome arcades we’re back in the mid 90’s. If your in town, you deserve to threat yourself to this gem of a store.

Dont trade your games here. We brought in one of my favorite N64 games (Majoras Mask Gold) and they busted it. Unscrewed the back and now its cracked. Was almost in tears this morning seeing it. We went to go trade in what we had left to Another game store today and they offered more than double what this shop did. I was appalled, and frankly so was the manager of this game shop. He couldnt believe they offered such a low amount AND destroyed our cartridge without even saying anything. They wouldnt do the update on our Xbox either that we were trying to trade in. Dont go here to trade. Games are also marked a lot higher than other shops.UPDATE: just noticed the store is trying to place damage on me, my game was NOT damaged, and I was playing it before I came. My game was in good condition until they decided to tamper with it. We went to a different game store and they were appalled just by the fact they wouldn’t buy the Xbox that was in near perfect condition. Just save your money, and save your items.SECOND UPDATE:No one ever reached out to me, and the game was not broken. The N64 had damage, but the kid at the desk even admitted to not being able to get a screw back into the cartridge because he had damaged it. You’re a garbage company, who is obviously to pompous to admit mistakes.

This was my first visit. The people at The Gaming Zone are really nice!! I brought in some older games to trade in. I felt I received a fair estimate for cash / trade-in. Its fun to check out all the classic games and systems. They have a great selection of games! I also checked out the awesome arcade. I had a great time! My favorite arcade game there was X-Men vs. Street Fighter.

I originally stopped by this place because I went to Arizona Donut Company (amazing place for good, cheap donut holes) and saw this on my way there. Its pretty rad! There is a great variety of new and used gaming equipment and games. The owner is very informative and easy speak with. There is an arcade full of classics and consoles that is relatively cheap to play in (pay hourly, for 3 hours, out all night), and great to bring friends along for. On Fridays (and maybe some other days) the arcade is open until 12! You can also trade in games and equipment for store credit or cash, and you can call ahead to see what they would pay for it. Next time you need anything gaming related, give these guys a call and check them out!

Every time I come here, I never leave empty handed, Its always a fun visit if you have a great love for video games. Not only do they sell what you are probably looking for, there is a great selection of games to play in store + arcades. Hope this place will be open for generations to come.

The selection of games is great but overpriced compared to online prices.Their arcade was cool but definitely not worth $10. Most of the games are broken and the selection could be a lot better. I think if you gave people more bang for their buck you’d see more revenue.
