If trails were cleaned up and preserved better this would be a great park. Sad to see it going to trash.

I love to sit at the lookout point and watch the traffic on the 202 and the planes flying into Sky Harbor airport. The view of the beautiful new State Farm Insurance structure that lights up Tempe Town Lake is awesome!!! I can sit there for hours and allow a cluttered mind to free while time escapes me! Occasionally transients occupy the picnic area but they never interrupt my me time. Thats definitely my Zen place!

Trash strewn, filthy, and unpleasant like most of the public parks in the Phoenix area. Mr. Lopiano, the parks namesake, would be turning in his grave if he knew what his legacy has become. If you can tolerate the constant noise of traffic from the Red Mountain Freeway adjacent to the park and the roar of commercial aircraft taking off from Sky Harbor at regular intervals, you can actually spot quite a number of uncommon bird species in this mesquite bosque growing along an old canal.
