I am so happy to see that the Alamo Drafhouse Cinema in Tempe has reopened!! I heard that it wasnt going to and I was so disappointed. I love this theater! Its located in a super fun and newly constructed area in Tempe. The themed movies with props are a blast and the food, drinks, popcorn & desserts are tasty! Ive read recent reviews that mention safe COVID precautions and I cant wait to go back!

This is usually my go to theater. It has such a great beer on draft selection and the service is super efficient. I definitely recommend this place.

We were blessed to attend the re-opening night at the Alamo Drafthouse in Tempe. Strict rules for masks, social distancing (when you reserve your seats, the computer automatically removes two seats on either side of you; unlike airlines only eliminating one seat, if that! Great social distancing!!) Getting to our seats was easy peasy, short stop in lobby and directly into theatre. Masks were available from staff if you forgot to bring one! Menus were disposable and only used once. Order sheets were delivered with a pen contained in a sanitized plastic baggie. Once we ordered food it was delivered very quickly and it was hot (popcorn) and the drinks were ice cold! Service was outstanding and all servers were so polite, respectful and had very positive attitudes. They also all had masks during the entire evening. Check out was a breeze. All in all a very enjoyable evening at the Alamo! We definitely felt like our safety was paramount in this theater!! We love this place.

The Alamo is always a fun time. Its comfortable seating, great staff and everything is always so clean.

Best place in Tempe for beer and movies. This is the second location in Arizona and it is great. The best way to describe the experience is that it is a bar that has a movie theater. Not the other way around! Beers are abundant, normally 30+ on tap and the food is great. If you want an experience that is fun and chill, this is the place.

Great service. Popcorn with real butter, which we love. Super comfortable with smart COVID precautions. Not all chairs recline so just pay attention when you reserve. We love this place.

We attended the first Post-Covid showing tonight....great changes with seats empty between groups, everyone in masks, great safety features, awesome food and drinks. The management really had their staff well trained and they quickly brought you up to speed on all the changes and new procedures. Sooo great to get back to the big screen again! Thanks Alamo for helping us do so with our safety in mind!

The movie theatre was nice and seats comfy but the fish and chips I ordered was a flop. Fries were good. Fish tasted nasty like it was cooked in old oil.

We rented the theatre it for 8 of our friends and ourselves. It was AWESOME hanging the theater to ourselves. It is a bit pricey, but to have your own server and the place to yourself? Worth it.

Friendly and helpful staff. Always have a good time when taking in a movie at the Alamo. Havent gone to another movie theater since.

I always have a great time here. I love the old movies they play.

I love visiting Alamo because of the cushy seats and food. They have viewing parties or events, and before the movie, you can typically find entertaining tidbits of info about either the movie youre watching, or fun stuff related the the film itself. Sometimes they even have merchandise for upcoming films you can purchase. Their food and drinks are good, but not super cheap. But I think the quality and service definitely make up for that! The employees are usually very pleasant as well.

This was a fun way to enjoy a great movie. The service was good, food good. We enjoy buttered popcorn, served on a metal bowl,( no butter leaking onto your pants) drinks, and a pepperoni pizza! The servers are dressed in black and do not take away from your enjoyment of the movie. Definitely worth a visit.

If youve never been here before, youre in for a treat! This place is fantastic, very retro, the seats are comfy (not amc comfy but still pretty comfy) the servers are absolutely polite and swift, drink menu, food menu, cool plus. Perfect for movie dates and family/friend time . Definitely coming back for their a m a z i n g set list

Very well set up. The seating is staggered so you can always see the movie. We had popcorn and pretzels. Both very good. I liked that the popcorn came in a big silver bowl. The drinks were very good. They had a couple for the theme of the movie even

Love this place first time I tried it had a really good experience you sit and order food and they bring it to your little table. They offer full meals, snacks, beer, and other assorted foods. Cool place to go out on a date highly recommend

Love it. Wow, what a great menu! The food is surprisingly delicious, lots of local beer on tap and we had a fun time in the bar before the movie. Seems really clean. Try the warm chocolate chip cookies!

My husband and I go here once (sometimes twice) a week! Now that we’ve become season passholders it’s a no brainer to enjoy everything they have to offer from cult classics to the newest movies. I appreciate the joy and fun their movie parties and costume viewings bring into my life. The menu is excellent and I love that they frequently mix it up with special themed dishes and drinks and have a good amount of vegan options. I’m a raving fan of Alamo and their no talking / no texting policy! We go so often that the staff has been recognizing us, haha. But even before, they were always kind, courteous, friendly, and responsive to our needs. Thank you Alamo for coming to Tempe!

Absolutely love the draft house!! The movies you find at the Drafthouse are hard to find elsewhere. The setting is very cute and pretty intimate. The boozy milkshakes and truffle fries are to die for. Staff is also great and quick!

Seats highly uncomfortable. My fries were over salted. Pizza my wife ordered was wasnt seasoned well.

Fantastic place to see a movie. There food here is better than studio movie grill. The picture and sound is great in the theaters. I love their policy or you get one warning for disrupting a movie and then they kick you out. They truly care about the movie going experience.

We ordered a root beer float and it came out pretty quick but it was clearly made a long time ago. The ice cream was already completely melted and it just seemed like we were given one that was made extra a while before. It definitely wasnt worth almost $6.00.

My first experience at a dine in movie theater. Me and my girlfriend came here to watch Jordan Peeles latest US. We sat in the front row 2, and could recline our chairs for extra comfort. We quickly ordered pizza, popcorn, mimosas and realized the bill does get pricey. Had to spend to get the experience, so was to be expected. 5 star experience!

For the price, its worth it. Just make sure youre aware that its not your typical movie theater.

Brand new building and very comfortable seating. They bring the food right to you so you dont miss any of the movie

Hands down the most expensive moving going experience of my life. Ordering tickets online was easy enough. The lobby is warm and inviting. I loved having the bar to relax in before the show, even if the bartenders were dismissive and aloof. Beer prices are a bit steep, though, at $7/pint.Inside the theater they pride themselves on a minimally disturbing experience, but despite their efforts I felt supremely distracted during the movie. Not only were the gents next to us talking regularly, but my “order card” or whatever wasn’t noticed for a full 20 minutes. I had to leave my chair, obstruct other guests, in order to deliver my order to the wait staff. I had to ask for napkins after receiving my popcorn, which, come on guys, should have been a no-brainer.Overall, in my estimation, this is where the cool (and rich) kids come to watch movies. For me, I’ll take the coach experience over this first-class nonsense.

Alamo is a good place to enjoy a beer and catch a movie. Ive had mixed service, some of the servers have been really attentive and some not so much. Even so Alamo is my first nearby choice for catching a movie. The kind of food is not my thing but Ive ordered items when hungry and it was fine.

Ive never been here before, and I have to say, What a treat! I saw Star Wars with friends and I was pleasantly surprised by commercials, trailers, fan films, and videos through ages while we waited for the trailers to start. Our server came by to explain that before the trailers started we could speak at full conversation volume to order and just to chat. He said once the lights went down conversations could only be in whispers or through notes provided on the tables. We ordered food, drinks, and popcorn. Refills were done through notes and he was on it the whole movie. Definitely going back! What a great experience!Only one complaint... You need one on the West side of town. Goodyear, and Litchfield Park, are booming! Build out here and youll always be packed.

A more refined way to enjoy the movies.The Alamo has perfected what I didn’t know I needed in a movie experience. Good food, good drinks, full service during the movie, strict no noise rules, and a chill atmosphere. If you want to turn your next movie into a full experience, I strongly encourage you to go to an Alamo Drafthouse.Did I mention there’s arcade games in the bar/hangout area?

Awesome theatre. You sit down and someone comes to you to take your order for foon, snacks and drinks. If you want more, write it on a card and set it in the holder, they will grab it and bring you your order.They also do not put up with disruptions, which is GREAT. It is a bit pricier than a normal theatre, but worth every penny.

This movie theater is wonderful!!!!! Great place. Great service and great hospitality from the employees. The food is wonderful and the theater is very clean. My grandchildren love it when I take them there. Thank you Alamo Drafthouse for coming to our community.

Bought my tickets online, said walk straight to theater and server will confirm ticket. So easy and seating is great. Loved not having to wait in line even after you have already purchased tickets. Service was great, popcorn was delicious. Beer was a little warm for my liking but that is probably why they offer a cup which probably was chilled so its my fault. I would recommend this theater to any one with kids or just for a date night. They do specify that if youre going to watch a kids movie that you can expect for kids to be talking so I loved that because my daughter is a talker. She did great, no major disruptions from her or any of the other little ones that attended the show.

Alamo provides a great theater experience with spacious seats and a full menu. This is my wife and Is preferred spot to watch films that pique our interest. Order food and drink from courteous staff as you watch your flick. Pre show ads are often nostalgic and funny.

Love this place. Good atmosphere. Good food. They also have really cool custom drink glasses you can buy that are based on big movies in theaters.

Small intimate movie theater with attached bar. Waiters bring you menu items from popcorn and snacks to a meal if you like. The seats are comfortable, some recline if you reserve them.

My daughter and her boyfriend introduced us to the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema and we love it! Great date night spot. Dinner, drinks and a movie! We love finding new places and adding them to our favorites list. Great place for families as well. My grandson loved it for our family outing to watch The Lion King.

Went to see Avengers End Game at an 8:30am showing. Really easy to find, park & get to our seats. Enjoyed the experience. I like that they have brunch options. Only issue is actially eating. Would not order something that required a knife & fork again. The trays are static. Im short so I had to sit on the edge of the seat to make it work. But now I know. Will be back. Already have 2 more movies reserved.

I love the concept. But the seat headrest is at the wrong angle and you have to push against it with your head to see the movie! It was very distracting and frankly eventually painful. We were in one of the seats closer to the screen. I bet its a simple adjustment to get that right. I finally put my purse between my back and the seat, effectively pushing me out further and that helped. It was just so darn uncomfortable.My husband said the same thing, so its not just me.

One of the best places to see a movie. They have assigned seating, comfy seats and you can order food, drinks, and refills from your seat. The lights under the tables for the servers to see seem distracting at first, but once the actual movie starts you wont notice them.

I love the Alamo. The strict no talking, no phones and no arriving late is awesome! The food is super yummy as well. Definitely my favorite theatre.

Overpriced and much worse quality than Roadhouse. The service was also terrible and disorganized. You are better off going to Roadhouse.

Love this place! Its fun to meet up before the show, have a drink, and unwind. You can order some pretty yummy food. The servers are friendly and even try to duck down so they dont interrupt the movie. Going to watch to old movies is pretty awesome! Good times!

Great place to take the kiddos. They dont have the characters because this was a special event. But everything else is all them. Their service is right on quest their ninjas are the best at service making it really nice so you dont need to get up during the movie to get a popcorn or drink refill.

This theatre is amazing! Its mostly for adults, and they do serve food and alcohol inside of the the theater. They normally have a pretty strict noise policy, but do also offer some kids movie showings with a more relaxed policy. They have a limited number of screens, so new movies are not shown here long. They also show retro and classic movies at special showings.

Unique dinner and a movie format. Or just snacks. Food was reasonably good; but everything was freshly baked/cooked/prepared. It was a fun date for my wife and I.

The staff is great! But we’re noticing it isn’t being maintained: Lights under the tables are out, no paper towels, soap or toilet paper in women’s restrooms. I can understand running out of those things throughout the day HOWEVER, this was at the FIRST movie time showing. It appears to be clean, however they need to pay more attention to detail.

Im giving 4 out of 5 only because Im nit picking. The food is great, try the buffalo cauliflower, extra crispy, extra spicy! The service is pretty quick especially as they have to spot that order card in the dark. So why not 5 stars? The seats in the theater arent recliners and they have fixed arms so couples are stranded from each other.This theater is amazing with fun events as well so I will be returning often!

1st time here. Some of the Best service Ive had anywhere, Very polite and attentive. Had the carnivore pizza, quite good. Oh yes, there is a full bar!! Opening day for Ford vs Ferrari with a buddy for his birthday. Comfy seats and clean too.

Had high hopes for 1st time here. Came to see Found Footage Festival VCR Party..that and the venue was great! However, deciding to order food during the show was not. Waited a long time & then my friends order was delivered at least 15 minutes before mine..both of ours were lukewarm but ate it anyway because we needed food.

We love this Cinema. The prices for soda and popcorn are honestly comparable to other theaters, except here they are brought to you and are unlimited. The rest of the food is pretty good too; its a little overpriced but thats expected from a movie theatre.I love that there are no children allowed for nighttime showings, so you can enjoy even childrens movies without all the noisy kids.I think at the end of the day, the highlight of watching movies at Alamo is that drinks are literally brought to you as you enjoy the film. What more could you want?

This place is fantastic if you get the reclining seats and come to watch a movie with one of your meals. The food is surprisingly good and the movies are an eclectic mix of special events, vintage films and the newest blockbusters. I do wish the seating was more elevated so that waiters could come from behind to give food without obscuring vision- as a couple better theaters have- but thats just a nitpick. The vibe and sense of like-minded filmgoers is what will keep me coming back here

Fun full-service movie theater! They bring you real popcorn in silver bowls with real butter and free refills. Drinks also have free refills. Only the front 3 rows recline but the back rows rock so still good! They show some old movies and first run movies as well!

We had a great evening at the Grease sing-a-long! The only issue was my wifes meal and drink didnt come until after I questioned where it was. When it did come it was way after the rest of our party was done eating, our plates bussed and after the start of the movie, which made it rather difficult for her to sing-a-long. I still recommend going and we will return again, sometimes these things happen.

A pretty nice place to catch a movie and have a few drinks. The plain cheese pizza I asked for was delicious but slightly overpriced at about $13. Great cheese blend on it, though. My major concern was the fact that my pizza came out before an order of popcorn that my friend was waiting for. After about 15-20 minutes, I had to walk up to an employee and ASK them to bring the popcorn.

Love it here. Love the food, the atmosphere. Get the season pass! Worth it if you like going to the movies a lot.

Visited for the first time today and I believe I found my new favorite theater. They offer a dine in experience and nice reclining chairs similar to the AMC dine in theaters. They also have a bar area set apart from the theater if you’re interested having drinks before going in. Only criticism that I have is that it is a little cramped in the theater. I am a 6’1 guy, and with the seat fully reclined I had to continually move my foot out of the way to avoid hitting the food runners. Irregardless, I will be returning to Alamo when I am ready to see another flick. I feel like it is a bit of a hidden gem at the moment, but once everyone catches on to it it will likely be a very popular spot.

Service was amazing. Best movie theater in the area. Adults can take refuge here as cell phones or talking is not allowed. Act like a jerk and disrupt anyone elses movie and you are gone in 60 seconds. Great food and an absolutely amazing selection of beers. Very clean and comfy.

Usually love this location but they did not update their google maps info and wasted my time with my date. Came to see parasite at 10pm March 4th as listed on the google maps. And was told it was changed when I arrived........

Having recently relocated from Houston, TX we were so happy to see that Metro-Phoenix has two Alamo Drafthouses! We’ve been patrons of this Austin-based franchise for years and it is our go-to theater. We drive 20 miles to get to the Tempe location but it’s so worth the drive. The entirety of the movie experience is unparalleled! We are missing the reclining seats we had in Houston, but the ambiance, menu, staff, drinks, service, projection and sound experience are all on par. Love watching movies here and really enjoy all the unique limited-release films. Great for a date night!

This is my favorite movie spot. The food is good, they have a great selection of beers, the adult shakes make for an amazing treat sometimes, and the service is always excellent. But the best part is the noise policy. Two strikes and you are out, no refund. I have never had to deal with talkers at an Alamo movie. And if you want to make noise, check out their movie parties.

Just saw endgame, little late to party. Theatre clean. Bathrooms decent. Chairs comfy, oversized, dont recline. Temperature in the theatre was decent. Other theaters keep it cooler and offer blankets, this does not. Pens and paper to order more screening. Staff very respectful of movie. Sound in theaters Central towards middle, the top row wasnt great. Overall good time.

By far my favorite theater to watch movies. The food and service are always great. I really like the no cell phone or late admittance policies. They take this stuff seriously, and it makes for such a far superior movie watching experience.Only the lower level seats recline, which is the only downfall to the seating.Order your tickets on the app so you can get extras when they offer them - like commemorative glasses or pins.

I always come here to watch movies with my two kids. it can get a little expensive so we like to save up and make it a big outing. They like having the option of ordering food while watching the movie.

Just went for the first time. Enjoyed everything about the experience except the drinks were comically small... like I have never been so shocked by how small a drink was and especially for this price... We will definitely come back but not get drinks.

So much fun to watch The Three Amigos here! Cap guns, maracas, food, and drinks - what could be better? The whole experience of having most of the guests saying the lines and singing along was so much fun. Im glad my friend brought me! The service was great, too! Friendly people and willingness to explain the process of how the theater works.

Kind of a weird place but my daughter and I like it sometimes. Literally nobody in the front to check you in, guess its just the honor system. That might even be true since eating there is kind of spendy. Got a really nice pizza (the Omnivore) and some cookies, kiddo got a plain hot dog, $45 with tip. Might maybe just drink beer for that money next time.
